Clint walked in through the apartment door and headed straight at Bucky, towering over him where he sat on the couch, and thrust his hand out. Bucky reached out on automatic and took the small box from him.
“What is it?” Bucky asked doubtfully, looking down at the box. It was plain white and about the size of his palm.
“It’s a bomb. What’s it look like? It’s a present, Bucky. You open them.”
Bucky shifted his gaze to Clint and took in the shifty expression and the even-more-than-usual fidgeting. He was nervous about something, and Bucky leaned a back in his spot, putting his face a few inches further away from the box. Normally Clint had a great poker face, so to see this open display was a little disconcerting.
“Wouldn’t put it past you to give me a bomb as a present,” he said. He gave the box a careful jiggle but didn’t feel anything noticeable sliding around.
“That wouldn’t be enough C4 to be worth giving,” Clint pointed out.
Bucky hummed and lifted the lid off to find a single key. He fished it out and held it up to the light, examining it. He could see Clint's face wearing a goofy grin just past it. “What’s this to?”
“The apartment. Figured we should make it official.”
Bucky turned to look at Clint again, to check that he was serious. Judging by the way he was swaying back and forth on his toes while he waited on a reaction he was.
“Okay.” He pulled a bunch of keys out of his pocket and added the newest one to it, without saying a word about how he had moved in at least three months ago. “What are we going to do to celebrate,” he asked instead.
Clint hummed and cupped his chin and made an ostentatious display of being deep in thought, head tilted a little to one side.
“You want a fancy dinner out? Maybe a commemorative plaque?”
Bucky hooked Clint by the belt loops and pulled him down, laughing. “You damn well know what I want.”
“I dunno, maybe you should tell me just so I know for sure.” Clint straddled Bucky’s lap and cupped the back of his head to draw him up for a deep kiss.
“You can order me dinner later when we need to get our energy back up after we officially christen every room in this place,” Bucky said once they’d separated.
“Starting with this couch?”
“Starting with this couch,” Bucky agreed and surged up for another kiss as his hands worked open Clint’s belt.
