One day, Bella showed Lucifer a drawing she had done of a cassowary and his chicks. The cassowary was chasing a person as the chicks, in a speech balloon, said, “Save us, Dad!”
“Auntie Cherri, and my animal book, they say dad cassowaries beat up anybody who gets too close to their babies,” Bella cheerfully explained, as she'd just learned about cassowaries. “Just like how you beat up Adam for trying to hurt Auntie Charlie.”
“Uh...yeah,” Lucifer said. “That's an...interesting drawing, sweetie, the chicks are cute.”
Was this the “food chain phase” that Angel had warned Lucifer about?
