Work Text:

Wifies had set up yet another escape room in Minecraft for his clones to helplessly attempt at completing. This was quite a common activity for him, it provided entertainment and a feel of dominance. I mean, who wouldn't enjoy the feel of dominance? Dominating over clones of you who cannot comprehend an escape room surely sounds intriguing.

In creative mode, he flew upwards and spectated a particularly advanced clone. This one, who we shall call Clonefies, had passed the first two levels with great efficiency and continuing. Wifies' curiosity peaked as he continued to watch. Clonefies had been able to figure out the falling anvil jump, one Wifies thought only he was capable of completing. It seemed to him that he was watching /himself/ play in third person. But, how? How could a clone have such a vantage point of intelligence? A malfunction? However, a malfunction simply wasn't possible. The operation was ran by /Wifies,/ probably one of the smartest people in today's generation.

Wifies flew down, landing onto the solid bedrock beside Clonefies. Clonefies jumped backwards, clearly shocked to see another version of himself. He hadn't even /thought/ of this ever happening in his life. Well, by 'life' he really thought of the last few hours, but same thing. Wifies walked closer to him, staring intently into his eyes. His expression was stern, obvious he was studying Clonefies.

Clonefies backed into a bedrock wall, eyes wide as he looked up at Wifies. A soft thud echoed through the room as Wifies' hand pinned him against it.

Finally, words were able to form in Clonefies' mouth.
He shakily asked, "H-how is there... two of me?"

Wifies chuckled bitterly, face inches away from Clonefies'.

"Don't worry about that," He began. "You're safe. I just need to know one thing..."

Clonefies' eyes darted around the room, looking everywhere but at Wifies. He was quite literally about to start shaking.

"And... that question is?" He asked sheepishly, making his figure distinctively smaller than Wifies'.

"Your intelligence," Wifies stated. "How are you so... /advanced?/" He stepped closer, towering over him.

Clonefies' head tilted slightly as he looked back up at Wifies, trying to comprehend what he had meant and what was going on in this moment. It felt like he was daydreaming. His knees felt like slime blocks. Advanced? What could Wifies even mean by that? It's not like he was stupid.

"Advanced? What is that supposed to mean, exactly?" He questioned, beads of sweat forming under his purple headband.

"Ugh," Wifies sighed. He didn't want to explain that Clonefies wasn't a real person—it was just too cruel. "Well... To put it short, you're... Not exactly real."

"Real?" Clonefies repeated. "/Real?!/ You say I'm not real? Are you out of your mind?"

Wifies unpinned him from the wall, seeming more annoyed than interested. Everything felt like it was in slow-motion from the tension and confusion building.

"No. I'm not out of my mind, thanks a lot for the comment," Wifies said sarcastically, stepping back to give Clonefies room.

"Answer my question!" Clonefies shouted. Wifies was taken aback from the sudden outburst, studying him with precision. What could've made him this advanced?

"...I will. Later. It's too much to explain right now, can you just... calm down?" He pleaded, planning to take Clonefies to his lab.

Clonefies exhaled, looking away for a moment. The room grew awkward rather than tense as they both avoided eye contact for a moment. At least they were both able to process what just happened.

Wifies looked back at his creation, finslly starting up another conversation.

"Look, I'm sorry for this, but can I just... show you something? It won't take long," He suggested, expression growing softer.

Clonefies looked up hesitantly before nodding slowly. It was pretty evident he didn't want to, but he had no choice. Whatever had been happening in that moment, he was sure it was happening for real. Wifies began flying, before remembering Clonefies was in survival mode.

"Right. Here, just... get on my back or something," said Wifies.

Clonefies almost blushed at the thought, but shook his head and reluctantly hopped on. He wasn't heavy, nor was he light.

Wifies took flight and headed toward his lab. To Clonefies, flying hundreds of blocks above the void was quite horrifying, but Wifies knew what he was doing. It was a really awkward situation for both of them. The lab slowly came into view, it seemed like a well-made structure.

The two made it inside and Clonefies came down from Wifies' back, admiring the inside. Everything seemed normal. Conveyor belts, operational redstone mechanisms, and... a large pit that he wasn't allowed to go near.

"Wifies, what is that area?" Clonefies asked, pointing.

Wifies looked alarmed at the question before walking away slowly.

"Just... don't go near it, okay?" He stated.

Clonefies followed him without a response. What could be in there that Wifies was not letting him see? Not like there would be clones or something of him.

"If you really want to know, then I hope you're ready," Wifies started. "It's... A long story. You see, you're not... Wifies. You're a clone. And in there? More clones. You're just an advanced project. Not even a project. A mistake."

Clonefies stopped in his tracks, eyes wide with loads of emotions beyond his own comprehension.

"Maybe I dumped all of that too quickly onto you," He walked closer. "Sorry."

"You just said I'm not real. And you apologize right after like everything is okay?" Clonefies' tone grew louder. "If I'm just a clone, then kill me! You act like the others aren't important, so why me?"

Wifies didn't react. He looked at him with an unreadable expression before suddenly throwing him against a wall, again.

"What- Bro- what are you doing?!" Clonefies shouted. Before he got a chance to react, Wifies pinned him roughly against the wall.

"I need answers. Tell me," Wifies demanded. "Where did you learn how to do those tricks in the escape room? It should be impossible for a clone to do."

Clonefies gasped softly, staring into Wifies' eyes of frustration.

"I-I don't know... It just made sense, I-" He sighed. "Can we take this somewhere private?"

Wifies nodded before slowly letting him off from the wall. They walked awkwardly together into Wifies' office as he slammed the door shut. He hadn't been that aggravated in a really, really long time.

Clonefies trembled under his intense gaze. They didn't speak to eachother for a minute. Soft humming from machinery in the factory filled the awkward silence before Wifies spoke up.

"It doesn't make sense,"

"Huh?" Clonefies responded.

"It doesn't make sense that your intelligence matches mine. It's really hard to contain frustration when you're talking to... yourself." Wifies ranted, pacing around the room.

Clonefies approached him, placing a hand on his shoulder. His touch was gentle and reassuring.

"I have no idea what's happening, really," He admitted. "I just hope we can figure it out together, bro."

Wifies turned around, facing him. He didn't expect him to be comforted by... himself. But he couldn't just give in. He couldn't trust anyone. ahe pished his hand off harshly, expression changing instantly.

Clonefies looked hurt as he backed away.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to- I- I didn't... Nevermind, it's nothing," He stammered.

"I don't care. You're not me. You'll /never/ be me," Wifies boldly declared.

They continued the argument for probably over half an hour, voices echoing through the room. Wifies, under stress, began getting physical. He pushed Clonefies to the ground, kneeling above him.

Clonefies looked up helplessly. He knew there was no way for him to fight back. But the position? Definitely awkward. Nothing you'd see in real life, he knew that. Wifies panted, taking a moment to breathe. Was this happening?

(I'm not finishing this. Sorry, no yaoi today. Enjoy this, okay? I'm too lazy to finish everything else. I have work to do. Salutations. It's also really rushed and bad, I didn't really check it over well...)
