Work Text:

The sun of the Pride ring shone through tall windows, lighting the room with a soft morning glow. A lump under the covers stirred slightly, as the person asleep under it moved. A sudden loud song alarm blasted from a phone that was perched on a pillow on the bed, a groan sounding as a hand left the blankets to grab onto it and turn it off. With a faint mutter, the covers were pushed down as Felix sat up.

The imp-Goetia hybrid squinted at his phone as he unlocked the screen, pushing the fringe of feathers that was drooping over his face out of the way as he checked to see if he had any messages. He nodded when he saw none before he shifted to move to the foot of his bed, yawning as he placed his talons onto the ground, his tail sliding off of the bed to half-curl near his leg, the tail piercing glinting faintly. Felix stretched, yawning again as he focused briefly on the rug on his bedroom floor, the constellations long familiar to him.

Felix brushed his fingers through the fringe of feathers, still feeling slightly sleepy and he was still very annoyed by a silly argument he had had with his parents the previous night, Felix not quite remembering what had started it. He stood up, glancing briefly at his bean bag chair in debating for a moment if he should try to play a game first before getting dressed but discarded it, not quite feeling up for it at the moment.

He went through his normal morning habits as normal, using his phone to play songs from his favorite band, humming along to the songs as Cain's voice echoed through the bathroom, combating with the sound of the shower. Felix took care to polish up his horns and made sure his crest feathers were nice and preened, fussing slightly over his appearance before putting on his favorite spiked collar. He looked over his clothes before settling on black slacks, a dark blue shirt, and a black vest, his chest plumage hanging out over the top of the shirt.

He picked up his phone and turned off the music, glancing at the poster of Cain's Anarchy that was hanging above his TV, his eyes going to the Pegasus that was also decorating the wall. He smiled slightly at the sight before letting out a sigh. He loved his parents but felt out of place and weird sometimes given that he didn't know of any other imp-Goetias, and was aware that there was some kind of trouble that had happened when he was still a baby.

He knew it partially had to do with his dad's company, Blitz proud of his company and how he had run it. Felix had fond memories as far as he could remember, Millie and Moxxie being basically his aunt and uncle. And he enjoyed hearing some of the stories his dad had about the work they did. And Stolas seemed to have always enjoyed being the secretary, even if Felix was aware that part of why Stolas had been was due to something that had made him have limited access to the grimoire to do his main job of prophecy and star reading that Stolas was in charge of.. And that it had happened some time after Stolas had given birth to him, with some old photos he had seen having been when he went between both of his parents houses even if he couldn't really remember a time where his parents lived apart.

Felix left his bedroom, the mix of portraits and pictures on the walls showing various combinations of his family. Some were of him and his sisters, or his parents with his sisters. Others were of him with his parents, or of Millie and Moxxie, and some were with his uncle Fizz and uncle Ozzie with his parents or just group photos. There was even a few with his aunt Barbie, Felix happy with it. But he made his way to the kitchen, intending to eat a fast breakfast. He knew that his parents would have already left for work by that point, knowing that his dad still liked driving to work since he got to yell at idiots who drove poorly around him.

Felix simply grabbed some cereal, seeing the plates his parents had used before leaving. He sat down to eat, a small part of him glad that he had missed his parents. He heaved a sigh, feeling the annoyance creep up again. He didn't like feeling so different, and the arguments he had been having with them had been getting worse over time.

"Why are they so frustrating at times." Felix grumbled to himself, moodily poking at his cereal in not enjoying the thought. He had always been close to his parents, particularly Stolas. But somehow he seemed to clash with his father worse and worse, and when he had asked his sisters their thoughts Loona had told him that it was normal since he was growing up while Octavia had indicated that she had some similar upsets. But Octavia hadn't expanded on what she and Stolas had fought about for some reason, seeming uncomfortable with whatever it had been about. And Felix hadn't pressed too hard in not wanting to fight with his sisters as well, even if he had wanted more clarity on the kinds of fights both of his sisters had had with their parents.

So he questioned if the fights were just silly nonsense or if he had legitimate reasons to be upset, feeling frustrated that he hadn't gotten clear answers. He shook his head and finished up his cereal, putting the bowl in the sink and starting to wander around the halls, debating on what to do right then while his tail swished behind him as he felt discontent and annoyed by his own thoughts. He felt tempted to do something that he shouldn't do while his parents weren't around to stop him, the temptation strong as he considered what he could do.

He thought of Stolas's office, his tail pausing before swishing faster, Felix curious about the books that his father might have in there. He assumed there was no way that his father would have any super hero comics but felt eager to explore it, his eyes brightening as he followed the impulse. His talons clicked softly on the ground as he moved, Felix looking forward to seeing what he could find by snooping.

Felix soon reached his father's office, opening the door and entering. He looked around at the books, closing the door behind him carefully. He felt a thrill at being in a room he wasn't in by himself normally, his tail swishing behind him as he walked over to a bookcase. He looked at a large vase that had a flower that was smiling at him, a few soft rustles leaving the plant as it looked at him with its eyes bright. Felix smiled at it before he focused on a portrait of his fathers and him when he was a baby, eyes softening seeing the familiar plush his dad was holding while his other dad held him.

And under and slightly to the right of the portrait was a thick book, Felix looking over his study book that he had written runes into it. Stolas had been teaching him how to read and write in runes, even if Felix didn't really need to know them in his personal opinion. He thought he would only need them in the case for some reason he needed to use Stolas's grimoire, which he had no interest in. But Stolas had been insistent that he learn it regardless, Felix aware that there were other books that used runes and going along with it.

He began browsing the books on the shelf, not seeing any titles that leapt out at him. His leg brushed against a stack of books that was on the ground, Felix glancing down at them and spotting a box on a lower shelf. He bent over to pick it up, intrigued on what he would find.

He opened the plain box, seeing the back of what he realized were photographs. He picked up the top one and flipped it around, holding the box in his left hand. He blinked in seeing a picture of his father, judging that he was a similar age to himself in it.

But what threw him was the clearly goth clothes that his father was wearing, his eye tracing over the layered ruffles on the sleeves of the outfit, as well as the gem and the ruffled cravat.

"Dad?" Felix mumbled in surprise, wondering why he hadn't seen Stolas wearing similar clothes anymore. But he was even more thrown when he noticed the nose ring on the right side of Stolas's face, Felix staring in surprise. He had never imagined either of his fathers having piercings, blinking one eye and then the other as he processed it.

He looked over the other pictures, seeing that most were of his father in various stages of life. His tail had stopped its swishing, Felix glancing down at his tail piercing and wondering if his imp father had ever had piercings he didn't know about.

But suddenly the door opened with a loud click, Felix jumping and dropping the pictures in his hand. He spun around and looked at a equally startled Stolas, his father glancing down at the box in his hand and then at the photos that had scattered across the floor.

"Didn't you leave for work?" Felix blurted out the first thing to come to mind, Stolas raising a eyebrow at him before walking into the room, leaving the door open.

"One of the lower offices had a fire issue so we wound up taking today off while they handle the fire damage. So we just got back. Looking at some old photos?" Stolas smiled as he explained, a faint nervousness apparent that Felix recognized as being a after effect of the argument the previous night.

Felix looked down at the photos and knelt to pick them up, Stolas joining him and looking at some of the photos with a smile or a shake of his head. Felix tried to think of what to say, feeling awkward at being caught but also curious about the photos.

"Stols! Why don't we- ah?" Felix's other father's voice echoed out as Blitzø entered the room and paused in seeing Felix and Stolas gathering up the photos, his eyes going between his husband and his son.

Felix picked up the photo of Stolas dressed in the goth outfit and looked at it again, feeling tense and awkward still in not knowing how Stolas felt about him rifling through his father's belongings.

"Dad, why did you stop wearing the nose ring?" Felix asked cautiously, Blitzø’s eyes focusing onto the photo and walking over with his hand held out, Felix handing it over.

"Damn! You look good in that outfit. And the nose ring… do you still have this?" Blitzø let out a whistle, Stolas shooting Blitzø a brief flirty smile.

"I was around your age then, Felix. I suppose it was a bit of a rebellious phase even if it was a few years. I loved those clothes and still do have a liking of the style. But after… my first marriage began I stopped wearing them and started dressing more… 'appropriate' for my station. And unfortunately I no longer have them. I suppose now I could find similar or have similar made. Do you want a shirt like it Felix? Your tastes seem like you might." Stolas gazed at the photo with a nostalgic look, even if the mention of his first marriage made his shoulders draw closer to each other in a way Felix knew his dad was feeling uncomfortable.

He knew his father had been married to Octavia's mother before his dads got married, but knew very little about her besides that Octavia never spoke of her and as far as he knew his sister didn't speak to her mother often. He was aware that his parents had gotten involved with one another before the marriage had ended but didn't know the details, that being one of the things that bothered him.

"You look so cool in it. And with the nose ring. But I definitely like the top, the ruffles look good. I just never pictured you wearing cool clothes like that before." Felix admitted, his spade swishing from side to side as they finished putting the photos into their box again.

Stolas and Blitzø exchanged looks he couldn't read, used to the way his parents seemed to have ways of exchanging words without speaking out loud. Stolas closed the box and stood up, walking to the bookcase and bending back down to select a photo album that was also on the bottom row.

"There's a few more photos in here of me in similar outfits. But Felix, why were you in my office if you knew we had left already?" Stolas held up the photo album while turning to focus on his son, Felix glancing down awkwardly and feeling slightly silly for his impulsive need to poke around.

"I was curious what you might have here. Like your books, and stuff. I wasn't going to mess with your grimoire or anything, I just wanted to look around." Felix explained but hurried to explain that had hadn't been interested in the grimoire. Stolas nodded slowly, his gaze clearly moving briefly to his grimoire before going back to Felix, a odd look in his eyes. And Blitzø also had looked at the grimoire with one of the odd looks he sometimes got whenever it was mentioned, Felix sometimes thinking it almost felt guilty.

"I know that you have no interest in the grimoire. And if there are any of my other books that interest you I don't mind you borrowing them. I suppose I can get being curious and wanting to look around, but there could be items you shouldn't touch or mess with as well. So don't touch things carelessly, my little impish owlet." Stolas reassured him, Felix relaxing slightly in being able to tell that he wasn't in trouble for prying and poking around without permission. He wondered if part of it was because that he hadn't damaged anything but shook it off as his tail swished behind him.

"Now, do you want-" Stolas began speaking again while lifting up the photo album he had picked up when there was a loud smack as Blitzø suddenly hit the side of his fist into his palm, his tail swishing as he suddenly had a wide grin on his face that normally meant he was about to suggest or do something on the spur of the moment.

"One moment! Since we're all free right now, hoowwww about we go shopping for outfits like that? A matching outfit for you two would be cute." Blitzø suggested excitedly, his eyes bright with his excitement. Felix looked at him, his own tail matching the way his father's tail was moving, feeling curious about it. Stolas looked at him, before looking at Felix with a smile.

"Felix? Would you like to do that?" Stolas asked, Felix immediately nodding in excitement as he looked up at his taller parent, feeling eager to see what his father would look like now in goth clothes.

"Yes! And you should join in too. I bet we can find something that suits you." Felix told Blitzø who blinked before grinning widely with a amused look on his face.

"Fuck yeah! Let's go! To the car!" Blitzø pumped his fist excitedly, spinning around and hurrying out of the door while Stolas let out a amused laugh before putting the photo album down on a stack of books while Felix followed after his shorter dad, wondering where Blitzø would wind up taking him and feeling eager to go shopping for goth clothes. They soon were in the van, Felix used to his dad's chaotic driving as the van weaved through traffic, Felix feeling excitement when they reached a massive mall.

The van was parked with the three of them getting out of the van, Felix following after his fathers closely, looking around the familiar mall as they made their way to a clothing store that had mostly gothic clothes in it, Felix spotting Stylish Occult out of the corner of his eye and imagined they could get makeup there.

Felix began browsing the store, comparing things with his parents and felling happy that they were bonding over arguing. He felt almost like he had when he was younger, before he began losing his temper and feeling frustrated with them.

"Hey, look~ It's like the top from the photo, just with a chest window instead of the neck cravat thing." Felix called out, eyes bright as he picked the purple top up and holding it up to show Stolas, his tail swishing behind him. Stolas looked up from a dark red top he had been holding up to Blitzø, eyes brightening up at the sight of it.

"Oh! What size is it, Felix?" Stolas asked curiously, his hand holding the red top lowering slightly. Felix checked the size, pleased to see that it was in his size, liking the thought of buying it.

"Mine! But maybe they have a bigger one or a smaller one? Or does Dad prefer that one?" Felix told Stolas eagerly, Blitzø studying the red blouse that Stolas had been holding up, his fingers rubbing the fabric slowly.

"Hmm? I like this top your dad was showing me for myself. But that'll look great on you, Felix. Right up your alley!" Blitzø told Felix cheerfully, Felix smiling in excitement as he kept a hold of the shirt, looking for a shirt for Stolas, mindful of the pictures he had seen and what his father seemed to like to wear. He let out a excited chirp-purr when he found a dark blue top that had a sparkly and shimmery part to it, reminded of stars. He checked the size, feeling like it should easily fit Stolas.

"Dad! Found a top I think you'll like!" Felix called out, Stolas coming over and looking over the top with interest. He reached out to touch it, eyes brightening as he saw the shimmery part. Blitzø let out a whistle, his tail going to wrap around Stolas's leg and squeezing lightly.

"Good find, Felix! Your dad will look hot as fuck in that." Blitzø spoke bluntly, eyes bright as Felix scrunched up his face slightly at the response in not wanting to examine it too closely. Stolas laughed but gave Blitzø a admonishing nudge with his elbow before he took the top, nodding slightly. Felix grinned in taking that to mean that Stolas had accepted the top, turning his attention to the pants, eyes skimming over the pants. He paused when he found a pair that he felt matched the red blouse that Blitzø had chosen, the top part being a skirt that turned into pants at roughly mid-thigh. He picked it up and carried it to his shorter dad, mindful of his tail to avoid knocking anything over.

"Dad, I think this'll go with that top." Felix offered it up proudly, Blitzø focusing onto it and grinning before accepting it, studying it closely before giving Felix a pat on his shoulder.

"Yes, this is fucking perfect~ Good find, Felix~" Blitzø told him with a wide grin that flashed his teeth, Felix proud that he had been able to find something that suited his dad's tastes so well. He was about to ask what Blitzø had been looking at when a hand tapped his shoulder, Felix turning his head around to look up at Stolas who was holding up a pair of pants. Felix studied the pants, noticing that the end of the legs had ruffled layers similar to the sleeves of the shirt he had picked out for himself., and that it faded from dark black to a still very dark purple.

"I believe this matches your top well?" Stolas suggested with a smile, Felix immediately accepting it and looking it over with a bright look in his eyes. His tail bumped against Stolas's leg as it swished, feeling excited by it.

"Yes, thanks! Now we just need to-" Felix began speaking when Blitzø let out a chuckle and held out a pair of slacks that looked similar to the shirt Felix had already found, a bright look in Blitzø's eyes as he grinned up at his son and his husband.

"Got one rightttt here." Blitzø told them both smugly, pride shining in his eyes at having picked out something that would go well with Stolas. Stolas let out a laugh and accepted it, his voice musical. Felix felt happiness bubble up, enjoying spending time with his parents and indulging in finding more clothes he liked.

They spent more time looking things over, Blitzø finding a tail piercing with a purple stone set into it that he thought would be a good match for Felix's outfit as well as a few other accessories. They also bought some make-up, Felix feeling a happy buzz by the time they were done shopping and headed back out to the van.

"Nooowwww. Let's get home and then dress up in these? I want to see how my perfect baby and my hot husband look in their new outfits~" Blitzø suggested eagerly, Felix feeling slightly embarrassed at the familiar way he was affectionately referred to but also was eager to see how he looked in his new outfit.

"Oh, yes, lets! It'll be a joy to see you both." Stolas immediately agreed, the van starting with a bang, Blitzø peeling out of the parking lot with a few loud honks of his horn.

"It'll be nice to see you guys in the clothes." Felix called out, gripping the seat slightly at a bump. They soon arrived back home, heading in with Felix going straight to his bedroom to dress his new clothes, carefully changing his tail piercing and pulling at the hems of his shirt and pulling his chest fluff through the window, arranging his feathers carefully. He was about to put on the makeup but paused, looking down at it and remembering when he was younger "helping" his father put on makeup before. He picked it up and headed to his parents room, knocking on the door.

"Onneeee moment~" Blitzø's voice came through loudly, several things crashing before the door swung open. Felix held up the makeup with a smile, looking down at his father with a fond look. Blitzø was already changed, the top snugly fitting and showing the top of his collar bones, the fabric on his arms sheer.

"I was wondering if you two would like to help me with the makeup?" Felix asked a bit nervously, not certain when the last time he had helped with it. Blitzø's eyes brightened before he grabbed onto Felix's wrist and enthusiastically dragged him into the room.

"Stolassss~ We have some makeup to apply." Blitzø called out loudly, Stolas poking his head out from the bathroom, his eyes going over Felix and smiling warmly. Blitzø dragged Felix to the large vanity mirror, Felix being seated down before both of his parents began fussing over applying his make-up, Felix obeying any adjustments they did as he felt warm affection rise, realizing he had missed doing similar things with his parents.

After they were done with applying his makeup he helped them apply theirs, enjoying being able to properly apply it compared to when he was far younger, his hand far steadier and working to apply it. When they were all done, Felix took a step back and looked over his parents slowly, thinking they both looked cool in their outfits.

"Oh, Felix, you look so good! Those clothes truly suit you so well." Stolas smiled fondly, Felix swearing he could see faint tears in his father's eyes while Blitzø had his phone out and took a few pictures of Felix and Stolas both before pausing with a grin, handing his phone to Stolas.

"Stols! Let's take a selfie of the three of us. And send it to Loonie and Via. Next time we need to include them, they'll have a blast with this." Blitzø suggested, Felix moving closer again and wound up being sandwiched between his fathers, Blitzø's arm pressed against his back with his hand resting on Stolas's waist while Stolas had his arm around Felix's shoulder while angling the phone, Felix smiling at the camera and feeling closer to his fathers than he had for some time, his arms around both of his parents.
