Chapter Text
Sun. 7:53am
Hazel, Hazel, Hazel
The name echoed in his head, bouncing off the walls of his thoughts, as he hurried down the street. He had been told that when you turn 18 the name of your soulmate will appear on your wrist, only you can see it, and it’s been a month since then.
Well, screw me he thought, if I ever manage to find her.
In his very small town, where everyone knew each other, no one was named Hazel. He had searched everywhere he could, with no result. all the while in a deep thought, Max continued his walk, bumped into a lady and apologized, and almost tripped over a brick.
Sighing deeply, he pulled himself out of his thoughts just as he turned the last corner and now stood in front of his little bookshop. it was his father’s before he died a year ago, and ever since Max had worked in place of him.
The doorbell rang as he opened the door, revealing the tiny space he called a bookshop. bookshelves all along the walls filled with books, and some others stacked, making the corridors of his little shop. in the far corner, his desk was a mess. Two stacks of books that had been returned yesterday were still on his desk, and three full boxes of new books all waiting to be organized, Max placed his backpack on the rolling chair and got to work. The doorbell rang again announcing the first arrival of the day.
