All those tiny pixels were dropping on the floor in a blink, the same pixels that they used to be a bunch of programs and now they lives were took by a single move of Tesler’s second-in-command, Pavel!
He looked at the pixels rolling slowly on the floor of the hallway that once belonged to Able’s and other programs in garage. The worst part was they weren’t even the mechanics, they were Tesler’s soldiers himself!! Ever since he kept the disk that Shaw created for Tesler and Pavel himself stole it from The renegade – who also happened to stole the weapon too – that piece of power became his special secret. The disk was new prototype weapon that augments a program's agility and strength and sometimes it lets the temporary owner don’t see the negative side effects of this, but Pavel sees them, that was making it special for him.
He could attack anyone anytime as he please.
In this grid there was once the famous Kevin Flynn and now there it is CLU 2 and Tesler making programs fear by hearing their name.
Being a second-in-command for Tesler made his place higher than others, and so his safety.. well.. sometimes!
Depends how much he was going to get on his lord’s nerve! He had to be careful then.
But now… they had to be more careful.
Cause neither The renegade and their own squad knows that Pavel examined the remains of the disk in his quarters it started to repair itself and now he carries the most dangerous weapon in the grid by himself.
Now that was the highest place above all programs.
As soon as he left the hallway he confronted Paige, against his will.
“What do you want?” Pavel said in an annoyed tone while he rolled his eyes.
“I was looking for the others, get out of my way!” Paige folded her arms.
“They already left, don’t waste your time!”
“How should I know you’re not lying?”
“Oh please Paige,” He clenched his digital chest, “since when I have ever lied to you, my favorite co-worker!”
“Since your code gave life to you, now move-“
Pavel blocked her way, “I’m afraid that I might take the access of getting in from you!” his tone was suspicious, hidden in a amused voice.
“I will report you!” Paige warned him.
“Try it!” Pavel was already thinking about one thing if Paige ever get her way into the hallway, the weapon! And derezzing!
But shoot- Paige just saved herself without realizing this and asked him a question, “Why won’t you let me get in there?”
“You already know-“
“You never told me!”
“Yes I did! Check your memory!” please don’t
“Why?”
“Because…” He took a long moment of silence before gave her an excuse to get in position and screw up everything, “you know what?” He was desperate, he wanted to end Paige, right here, right now! No wasting time!
“You can take a look inside!” He took a step away from blocking Paige;s way and gave her the permission to get in his derezz trap.
But she didn’t move at all, “you still didn’t answer my question!”
Oh for the love of Flynn..
“Because I finally have one thing to be better than you, Paige!” Pavel raised his voice and acted like it was a clear reason, “Now would you stop asking questions?!”
Paige’s face was more annoyed than Pavel’s, “you seriously thought I would believe this?”
“I expected that!” His grip was getting itself ready to move and grab the disk but suddenly someone came over.
“Pavel I need to go I finished all my… works” Beck! The mechanic! The renegade who none of these Tesler’s special soldiers had any ideas.
Especially Paige, who used to date Beck. Both of them looked at each other. Neither of them wanted to say hi.
Paige took the first move, “I’m out- I have to report Tesler.” And without breaking her fake facial expression she left the place in a calm, collected steps.
That was his only chance to derezz the void out of her!
He took a look at Beck, he was so mad.
“ummmm” Beck hesitated to ask, “can I-“
“GET OUT"
