Work Text:
Sam's head was swimming and the colours around blurred into a mush. It was too disorienting and he closed his eyes. Where, who or why he was, he didn't know.
There were sounds around him and something hurt but Sam just wanted to lie down and sleep. Was he already lying down? Should he get up?
"Sammy!"
Ouch
"Sammy! Can you move, are you okay?!"
"Dean?", Sam mumbled. His brother's voice was somewhere around him. He didn't know where.
"Sammy, open your eyes, come on," Dean sounded urgent. Sam was just lying down, what was his problem?
Still, Sam tried as he was told and forced his eyes open. The light around him was dim but Sam could still make out Dean's face. There was a cut over his brow that had bled all the way down his jaw and blood was dripping from his chin to the ground.
"Are you alright?", Sam asked, words slurring together slightly and tried to lift a hand to Dean's face. He couldn't move his arm.
"You're asking me that?", Dean all but shouted. Sam still appreciated the fact that he tried to keep his voice low.
"What're you talking about?", Sam mumbled. He wanted to shift to sit up properly. He couldn't do that either. What?
"Don't move! I'll get you out of here, don't worry!", now Dean sounded panicked. Sam didn't like it when Dean was panicked.
"Dean, what's goin' on?"
Fear was starting to creep into Sam's voice and his heart starting to beat faster in his chest.
Dean coughed, turning his head and looking at something.
"Dean, what's going on? Tell me," Sam demanded.
"Might be a fire burning down the entire house," Dean admitted, "And you might be pinned down by a fucking wall."
That made sense. The pain in his chest, the fact that he couldn't move and Dean was so panicked.
"Get out. Leave me, you gotta get out," Sam gasped, finally feeling the sharp pain throughout his body through the fog in his mind.
"You gotta be kiddin," Dean grunted, trying to move the debris pinning Sam's body down, "You wanna die here? In some random house? Come on, where'd you rather die? Here or somewhere else with honour?"
