Work Text:
Mikey sobbed, his arms feeling as though they had caught on aflame, his head pounding like a sledgehammer had been slammed into his skull.
He wanted Donnie, he wanted Leo, he wanted Raph.
He was sorry, he didn't mean to be so useless! Just don't leave him here, all alone, at the mercy of the kraang. He'd do better!
Mikey sniffled, curling up into a ball as his breath hitched, and the tears kept flowing. Shell, he was so pathetic. No wonder why his brothers left him here. Who could blame them? Who wouldn't want to abandon someone as worthless as Mikey?
His arms burned, the pain shooting up his fingers and traveling up to his arms. He whimpered, the drugs making him even more confused and stupid then he usually was. Ever since Newtrailzer had shoot him with that weapon, Mikey's stupid arms wouldn't stop hurting in the most inconvenient times. It had ruined many missions(Part of the reason Mikey wasn't surprised that his brothers left him here), and the turtle was honestly surprised that he had done anything right in his life.
It wasn't like any of his achievements were deserved anyways. Mikey was the most lazy, stupid, and loud out of all his family. He couldn't be a genius like Donnie, couldn't lead or make plans like Leo, couldn't be strong like Raph. Couldn't be anything but a bother and a pain in the shell.
Mikey struggled, pushing himself up with his shaking arms. He was fine. He was just being dramatic! It was just a bit of pain(no it wasn't, it burned, it burned, it hurts, please!-), he was ninja for god's sake! He crawled over to a wall, leaning onto the bleak, white marble.
Mikey didn't want to be here anymore. It didn't really matter what Mikey wanted though, didn't it? He grit his teeth, the pain in his arms throbbing, constantly reminding him of his failures, his weakness, how useless he was.
At least the Kraang were leaving him alone. (The silence had always scared him, he didn't want to be alone, please come back-) Mikey wasn't sure if he could handle another 'session" where they cut into him, ignoring his pleas, examining him, treating him like an animal- NO.
Don't go there. Focus on the present, he told himself, the room slowly drifting into view. His winced at the sudden pain, and blinked, his fingers digging into his arms. He hasty released his arms, the pressure not doing any favors for his pain.
He sat there for who knows how long, trying to push away the fear, and ignoring the fact that his brain kept convincing him that someone was hiding in the shadows. There wasn't anybody there. The Kraang were smart like that(unlike Mikey), they knew how to push every button they found.
The turtle's sobs finally slowed, his tear ducts being too empty to cry anymore. People said that crying was nice, but it just left him hollow most of the time, scraped clean and raw, ready to lash out on imaginary shadows.
Gods, Mikey was such an idiot. All that ninja training for what? For him to waste it by jumping at shadows and not actually sensing anything because all he could do was cry? Shell, he was so pathetic. Eventually the boredom got to him, and he started banging his head on the wall. Technically, he knew it was bad to do that, especially with as big of a headache like he had, but Mikey couldn't really bring himself to care.
He froze as footsteps rang out, heading down the corridor to his cell. They were light and soft, almost detectable, but year's of training skills had given Mikey better instincts than others. Yet another thing that Mikey was lucky to have. He didn't even train hard, was lazy and stupid all the time, and yet he still got to reap the benefits.
He shoved those thoughts to the back of his mind, forcing his aching muscles to crawl towards the door. He stationed himself to the right of the door, panting by the end of it, his arms burning once more. At least he could see the outside of the cell once the door opened, and know if the risk of escape was worth it.
Yet another thing he'd stolen from Lee. Shell, he couldn't do anything originally, could he? Everything he did that was smart was either stolen or by luck. No wonder why they left him here to rot. Maybe he should just stay here with the Kraang. He was still useful to them, wasn't he?
No! What was he thinking? If he let the Kraang continue their experiments, they would know every single weakness of his brothers. Gods, he was being so selfish.
While Mikey was deep in his thoughts, the door opened, and the Kraang looked down at him, opening its slimy mouth just as Mikey leaped onto its robotic body. It called out an alarm, and mentally Mikey swore, barely taking it down. He was such a fool. He couldn't even attack a single enemy right.
So Mikey ran, doing his best to avoid any Kraang because he wasn't stupid. If he got caught and swarmed, there was no way he could beat them all back with his weak arms. He choked, the cardio some of the most exercise he'd done in a while, his body screaming at him to stop and cool down. At least he'd manage to escape the room.
(You managed? Hah, don't make me laugh. We all know you only pulled that off because Leo taught you that move.)
He slows down at the sound of Raph's faint, mocking voice, repeating the things he already knows back at him. But it still hurts. It still constricts his chest. And that second unfortunately costs him. He stumbles, and a Krang tackles him, pinning him down with its strength.
Mikey thrashes, desperately trying to buck it off as others swarm to his location.
Raph was right, wasn't he? Mikey numbly thinks, finally giving up as 3 more pin him down, one of the pulling out a needle. He vaguely hears Donnie's condescending voice, telling him about how dangerous getting sedated by an enemy was. They could anything they wanted, and you wouldn't be able to stop them.
But the needle means sleep. And sleep means that he won't have to deal with his stupid, pathetic, twisted head for some time. So Mikey doesn't resist. He doesn't resist as they jab it into him, doesn't resist as they take him back to his cell. Doesn't resist when someone or something comes and hits him.
Because quite frankly, Mikey knew his brain was messed up. He couldn't do anything right. Really, it was just a matter of when he was going to die, not if. Because Mikey didn't care anymore. And that thought should've scared him, should've made him terrified, but it didn't. Mikey didn't feel anything.
Because in the end, his brothers were right after all. He was a no good, waste of space. So Mikey slept, and when he woke up, he went back to sleep. Maybe he'd die at sleep, his last moments finally peaceful. So Mikey slept. And he didn't try to wake up.
