Work Text:
Write down your name
- ______________
I'm on my way to the store, rehearsing the speech.
I haven't been out for so long that I've forgotten what words they say when they enter the store.
im on my way to the store
- who are you talking to
- Shut up and go
I imagine being a game character- what if it helps to gather my thoughts?
- what game?
- ...
well, you know...
There are games in which you can see character's thoughts. Right on the screen, you know?
So I thought - wait...
We have already done this...
Haven't we?
I always forget what I went out to buy, and when I finally remember, I forget how to ask for it.
I drift into deep thought, only to snap back to reality and find that the shop is closing in just fifteen minutes.
Once I get home, Mom inevitably asks questions I don't feel like answering.
Back in my room, my thoughts keep gathering and scattering—gathering, then scattering again.
Gathering, scattering.
Gathering, scattering.
Gathering, scattering
Gathering...
...
...
...
- No
- Is your mind so fuck up that you can't remember?
- Yes
why keep doing it?
- what other choice do you have?
- You must make the decision yourself to change certain things.
...
- This day isn't over, you know what you have to do.
...
...
...I don't want to go to the store today...
I want to go...
- go where?
- ...
I leave the path leading to the shop, but don't return the way I had come.
I walked across the meadow,I don’t know how much time had passed, but the sky looked just like the fireflies in my room.
Laying down on the wet grass I organize my thoughts in constellations. Every thought is continuously strung together by an invisible thread.
The coldness of the night's breeze cleared my head, and a sense of relief washed over me.
I think that,at least today, I'm going to be okay.
