Taehyung is a man of many secrets. Not that most of them manage to stay as a secret anyway. He has famous "secrets" like his crush on a certain someone. Almost everyone in his school knows about his crush, but only a handful knows who it was.
The thing is, Taehyung would very much prefer to keep his crush a secret, thank you very much. If anything, Taehyung would rather confess to his crush himself than have a third-party telling it.
The thing is, Taehyung is kind of famous in his school. He is one level apart from his crush because his crush, also known as Min Yoongi, had retained once.
Which also means that Yoongi graduates earlier than Taehyung. This crush of Taehyung's is still on and has been for 2 years. But the thing is, Yoongi had already graduated 3 months ago and Taehyung wants to curse out loud.
Taehyung is a man of many secrets and only one secret managed to last as a confidential matter for more than a year.
Taehyung is depressed because Yoongi is no longer in school. Everyone figured out, not too long ago, that Taehyung's crush had already graduated. Taehyung sighs at the thought of Yoongi. I really want to see you.
"Sunbae! What club are you in?"
Taehyung snaps out of his thoughts of Min Yoongi and looks at the younger boy. Right, Taehyung is a councillor and graduating councillors are required to take the freshmen on a club exposure event. "Baseball. Are you interested in it?" Taehyung smiles to himself because Yoongi was also in the same club as him. It was the first reason as to how Taehyung fell for him.
"Kinda, when are we going to visit the Baseball club?" Taehyung is about to reply when his phone goes off with a buzz. He checks his phone and looks back at the junior. "'Right about now."
Taehyung gathers the class and brings them down to the field. And right, Taehyung is also the captain of the Baseball club. However, today is different. Kim Taehyung is no longer the Baseball club's captain, he is a councillor. So Taehyung stands by the side and watches the vice-captain, Jimin, give the freshmen an introduction. The Baseball club's members are doing a good job with setting a good example of a baseball game and they always do, so Taehyung isn't worried. After doing a safety briefing, Jimin leads them into the field and lets the rest of the members lead them on. Jimin heads towards Taehyung while picking up a ball.
"I heard they're trouble makers," Jimin says as he tosses the ball to Taehyung, who catches it effortlessly. The taller male sighs as he tosses the ball back, "they are. It's hard to get them to listen to me. The girls do, though." Jimin rolls his eyes, throwing the ball back at him, "of course they do. Girls love you, they'll probably try to get your number and Instagram." Taehyung lets out a sarcastic laugh while throwing the ball at Jimin, "too bad that I already have someone in my heart."
Jimin tosses it back, "oh yeah, that reminds me. Yoongi was here just now." This time, Taehyung fails to catch the ball. Instead, the ball rolls on the field and stops after hitting the fence. "What?"
"He came back just now. He joined the game for a short while before he went off."
"And you didn't bother texting me? As my bestest of best friend?"
"To hell, I didn't. I fucking spammed message you but you didn't reply."
Taehyung immediately takes out his phone and scrolls on the way down. When he doesn't see Jimin's notification, he opens the notification tab. "Your fucking message was drowned by other notifications," Taehyung groans. "Not my problem. Plus, he dyed his hair and looks fucking good."
Taehyung is a man of secrets and the one secret he kept for more than a year is also the biggest thing happening in his life right now.
[you] you fucking came back to school and you didn't tell me?
[you] wtf min yoongi?
Yoongi replies not too long after Jimin had left.
[Yoong] I wanted to surprise you??
Taehyung scoffs with a roll of his eyes before he angrily typed in a reply.
[you] and I heard you dyed your hair
[you] min yoongi you're unbelievable
With that, Taehyung offs his phone and shoves it into his pocket. He breathes heavily and looks out into the field, trying his best to forget about a certain Min Yoongi. There's a series of vibrations in his pocket but Taehyung ignores it. Min Yoongi won't distract me.
Jimin jogs up to Taehyung not too long after, "we're done. Where do they go next?" Still pissed over Yoongi, Taehyung huffs, "Hockey." Jimin almost rolls his eyes at Taehyung's tone. "Come on, are you still mad about Yoongi?" This time, Taehyung turns his head in record breaking time with a glare, "of course I am! When will I be able to ever see him again?!" He storms off and Jimin calls for him but his calls went ignored.
Taehyung is a man of many secrets. His longest secret was dating his crush, Min Yoongi. It was when Taehyung finally grew balls and decided to take his hopeless crush of 2 years one step further. But the thing is, Taehyung was never a romantic person. His confession went horribly wrong but hell, Taehyung still thinks it was the best day of his life.
Taehyung remembers staying up the whole night because he was too nervous for the confession and was afraid of rejection. The thing is, Taehyung and Yoongi hardly interacted. Taehyung could count a number of times they interacted with his fingers. So, for two years, Taehyung didn't confess because he knew and had a feeling, that Yoongi will probably reject him. Taehyung knows that rejection hurts a lot because as a Literature student, Taehyung is required to be in the shoes of the characters and sympathise with them. So yeah, Taehyung do know the measures of rejection.
Min Yoongi isn't Taehyung's first ever crush, but he's Taehyung's first love and the longest-lasting crush. All the more, Taehyung was afraid of rejection. It was when he realised that Yoongi only had four more months in school before he graduates that Taehyung realises that it's now or never. He was all prepared for rejection and for the confession, but nothing goes smoothly for Kim Taehyung.
Taehyung was caught slipping a note into Yoongi's locker by Yoongi himself. With face flushed red, he ran off and tripped over his leg. He scrambled to get up before running away. Taehyung already knew he fucked up at that time but Yoongi never fails to surprise him.
Instead of the rejection that Taehyung had feared, Yoongi dropped a note into Taehyung's locker with his number on it. They met behind the school that day where Taehyung finally says the words with his own mouth. Taehyung kissed him that day, and lord, Taehyung could die again and again just by remembering that day.
Taehyung's still mad over being unable to see Min Yoongi's dyed hair, but they had made up. When the two decided to meet at Yoongi's apartment, Taehyung was thrilled that he would finally see his boyfriend's new hair. But Taehyung is as salty as the fries at McDonald's.
"So, everyone in school saw you with your new hair, but you didn't even bother sending me a snap of your new hair?"
Yoongi sighs and touches the younger's arm, "babe, we've been through this."
"I'm not hesitating to break our 200-plus streaks."
Yoongi lets out a sigh of defeat. "I seriously wanted to find you that day, but we couldn't get caught. Plus, I overheard freshmen talking about you doing the club orientation." Taehyung stares at him, "and your point is?" Yoongi shifts comfortably on his bed and then looks up at the younger. "Tell me why the fuck all the girls wants your number. Did you flirt with them, Kim Taehyung?"
The said male lets out an exaggerated gasp. "Are you saying I'm unloyal? Min Yoongi, I'm offended to the max. I am the most loyal person you'll ever meet, how dare you, Min Yoongi-"
"Taehyung, baby, just answer the question," Yoongi says with a roll of his eyes. Taehyung shifts around nervously and abruptly grab Yoongi's fingers. "Babe, listen, it's not what you think, okay? They just wanted my number and so I gave them! I have nothing on with them, okay?"
Yoongi lets out another sigh and pulls his hand out of Taehyung's. Yoongi never knew his boyfriend was such a naive person.
"Baby, if I ask you for your number, what do you think it means?"
Taehyung blinks. "That you want to be friends?"
And Yoongi wonders why he was in love with this man.
"But you're the one who gave me your number!"
Yoongi contemplates on life choices.
"Yoong."
Said male lets out a grumble of "what". He raises an eyebrow at Taehyung's tone. "Are you jealous, Yoongbear?" There's an amused tone in Taehyung's voice and it makes Yoongi's cheeks flare red. "N-no?"
Taehyung grabs his boyfriend's hand again and leans in, shoving his face closer to Yoongi. "You don't have to be jealous, baby, I chose you over them."
Yoongi groans, "I'm not!" Taehyung pouts and lets go of the man, "guess you don't mind if I go talk to them now huh?" Taehyung gets up to grab his phone but Yoongi immediately pulls on the taller's arm. "Fine."
Taehyung stops in motion and looks at Yoongi curiously, acting as if he didn't understand what he meant. "Fine, what?"
Yoongi almost rolls his eyes because he knows Taehyung is just playing. He glares up at his boyfriend. "Fine. I'm jealous." Taehyung breaks out into a grin and sits back down beside his boyfriend, lacing their fingers together. "There, that wasn't that bad to say, was it?" Yoongi doesn't reply. Taehyung wraps his arms around Yoongi and pulls him into a tight hug. "Can you now leave their class' group chat?" Taehyung freezes and looks at him, "how did you know?"
"Baby, I'm a man of secrets too, you know."
"Fine, fine, I was just being a nice senior to them, okay?" This time, Yoongi rolls his eyes. Taehyung gets up to get his phone and Yoongi panics. "Where are you going?"
"To get my phone, you want me to leave the group, don't you?" Yoongi holds tightly onto Taehyung, "no, don't leave me, do it later." Taehyung agrees silently and settles back down with Yoongi lying on his chest.
Taehyung hums a tune as his rubs invisible circles onto Yoongi's arm. Yoongi closes his eyes at the sensation and Taehyung's sweet voice, slowly falling asleep.
"By the way, babe," Yoongi says and Taehyung hums in reply. "I saw your Instagram DMs."
Then, Taehyung freezes and he stops humming. "Oh fuck." Yoongi snaps his eyes open and gets up to leave but Taehyung desperately holds onto Yoongi to stop him from leaving. "I swear! I was just joking!"
"Oh really? Allow me to quote 'you're really pretty yourself too, babe' and wink emoji."
Taehyung panics again. "I swear to God! I was waiting for us to meet up and send her a picture of us fucking so she could get the hint you know." Yoongi lets out a sarcastic laugh. "You better be serious, Kim Taehyung."
Taehyung is a man of many secrets and he wonders every day, how long will this secret last?
Taehyung is also a very loyal person and would never cheat on a certain Min Yoongi (read: Taehyung would never want to break his adorable Yoongbear's heart).
