Suddenly, the door from 22G barged open. Annacile hurried inside the hutch and quickly started looking around. She found Ansi and Olly sitting together on a purple bean bag, "Bobby and Tommy" playing on the screen in front of them.
' Hi guys. ' She waved. Her voice was monotone-ish, as usual, but the uneased look on her face was telling a different story. ' Have either of you seen Saraline? '
They blinked at the question. Olly silently pointed next to himself, where Saraline was standing just as puzzled. Annacile stepped in said direction, but rather than acknowledging her girlfriend she skipped right past her, continuing her way before reaching the end of the room. She squinted and brought her head closer to the wallpaper as if trying to find something between the red stripes. The trio watched with a mix of worry and sheer confusion as Annacile paced around the hutch, scanning even the tiniest gaps between the furniture and the wall.
' Uhm. ' Ansi uttered. ' Is this a new inside joke you guys have?... '
' Finally! ' Olly smiled. ' You've been a couple for a while now, it's about time. '
Saraline shook her head no. ' I'm... Not sure what's happening. '
' Aw, really?! You guys still don't have a single inside joke? I mean, look at us, we got lots. Right, Ansi? ' He grinned. ' Or, should I say, guacamole?... '
Ansi nodded, giggling. ' Yeah! Nacho... '
The two laughed together.
' Sorry, but I do not find this humorous. ' Annacile chimed in. She lifted a small decorative pillow from the couch and looked under where it just was. ' There is an urgent matter I need to share with her immideately. '
Saraline stood next to her. She put her hand in the air and did a wide wave. ' Hello-o, I'm right here!... '
' It is like I can still hear her voice... ' She exhaled, imitating a sigh.
Saraline took out Snatch Addams. She used it to grab her girlfriend's head and gently readjust it to a down-looking position.
Upon finally seeing her face, Annacile immideately brightened up. ' Oh, Saraline, there you are. '
' Hi... I've been here the whole time...? '
' Oh. Really? I did not see you. Probably because you are so short. '
' Oof, burn!... ' said Olly.
' Shut up! ' She ordered her brother. Then looked back up. ' ...So, what were you going to tell me? '
' I just learned this new phrase. Observe... ' She coughed into her fist. ' If you were a vegetable, you'd be a cute-cumber! ...Get it? '
' Haha... ' A stupid smile took over her face. ' Who, me? A-a 'cutecumber'?... ' Her cheeks changed from basically white to baby pink in a matter of seconds. ' No-o...! ' Her smile grew even wider unvolintarily.
' Yes, I meant you. You are very cute to me. '
' And green. ' Olly added.
' Huh. ' Ansi's brows jumped. ' And I thought we have a height difference... '
' It's a long-distance relationship. ' Olly nodded.
' ...But I'd never lose you like that. '
' Me neither. ' Annacile agreed. ' Your hair is quite voluminous, it always gets in the view... And the nostrils. '
His sister rolled her eyes. ' In general, he makes it hard to ignore him ' She snapped. ' ...Trust me, I've tried. '
' Err, what I wanted to say was... I'm always looking out for you. ' Molina said softly.
' But the hair's totally awesome, right? ' He said, fixing the red mountain on top of his head.
' Oh, um... ' Ansi's head tilted and faced away. ' Yeah... ' A short silence followed. ' ...Ugh, forget it. I was trying to make you blush too... '
' What? Ansi...! ' He leaned in closer and looked into his favourite pair of eyes. ' You don't need to try — I blush just thinking about you! ' The coy smile on that boy was definitely contagious.
' Aw, that's so cute... Thanks!... '
' ...And I'm always looking at you as well... ' He almost whispered, gently. ' Day and night... '
' Aww... '
' ...Wait, what?! '
