Work Text:

Luka contemplated the task set before him for a full minute before reaching out to fulfill Marinette's request. She had explained all the clasps and ties in great detail before giving him the job.

The problem was, he didn't want to.

He traced the line of her spine slowly as he whispered, "I'm not saying this is impossible, but…"

Marinette craned her neck, trying to look behind her to see him. "But what?"

"But we could just stay here. I could help you out of this absolutely gorgeous dress you've created and keep you all to myself."

"Luka!" Her tone was admonishing, but she was laughing.

He slipped his arms around her waist and pulled her close enough to drop and kiss just above her shoulder blades. "It's a fundraiser. We could send a check and stay home." He angled his head to press a kiss against her neck.

Marinette's argument came out as a gasp as she melted into his arms. "We promised Ro—ahhh—Lu!"

"We can be late. Blame me." He kissed her again, mouthing his way along her neck and to her shoulders. "I'll blame the dress. It will be the truth."

Marinette's answer didn't need words.
