Summary:

Fictober Event Day 7
Promt: "You never told me!"

Notes:

Day 7
This is just for me. I needed a soft fluffy break. Its short, its domestic, its lighthearted. Sounds like definition of fluff to me.

Enjoy <3

[Side note: I edited yesterdays fic, if you want to check it out. Im much happier with this version, less really really akward sentences strapped to eachother. I cringed just thinking about it. But thank you for the response <3]

Work Text:

"How's the leg?" Dana strolled in the kitchen reaching for the empty coffee can. She cursed softly. Or maybe not so softly. "

I'll be so happy when I can stop covering for Robby." Abbot groaned rubbing his knee. Above the hard shaft. "How is he by the way?" Dana had started a new pot, which now bubbled ominous.

Abbot leaned back in the cheap plastic chair. "Better. He's incessantly badgering me that he cant work. You know him." "Oh yes I do. You know we do have access to soft restraints if you should ever need them."

Abbot chuckled. "Maybe I'll take you up on that." He got up heavily. Dana shook her head. "Its his own fault. I told him that thing would kill him."

Abbot joined her at the counter refilling his cup. "I make three crosses every day that I got him to wear that stupid helmet." "Me too."

Dana smiled at him. Soft and friendly. She touched his arm.

"I broke my leg not my scull." Robby grumbled and passed him the milk.

"And your wrist. And you cracked your rips." He pouted. Abbot tilted his head, eyes soft. "Next week. You nearly made it."

"Its so boring here." He dropped his head and looked up again. "Im going insane." "Cute." Jack took sip from his coffee. The clock in his peripheral vision.

"You know Santos and Garcia are together." He stated, Robby sniffed unimpressed. "Yeah I know."

"Seriously? You never told me!" Robby stopped in his movements. "Oh sorry. They're pretty obvious." He sipped his coffee.

"Being left out of the day shift goss." Abbot gripped his heart dramatically, pretending to be hurt. Robby smiled into his mug.

His eyes where soft and relaxed. Abbot couldn't help sometimes just scanning him up and down. Searching for micro movements and expressions that would give him away. Something he'd missed.

He was pretty sure Robby did the same when his stupid cow eyes went big and soft, but piercing through every layer of his skin.

And he hoped, he would find the same at the core as he did everytime he checked; that he was happy.

That he is dry and comfortable and familiar. That they're home.

And thats all that matters.
