Work Text:
From the butterfly a king emerges,
cerulean wings consumed by shadows.
Her eyes turn a ghostly blue,
yellow stars gazing.
Gazing for a flower to harvest.
Her hands, dipped in darkness;
her hair dyed black;
her jewel enveloped in dusk;
her soul corrupted by lies.
The garb of a detective,
of a seeker of truth,
it melts away, morphing
into a new vessel fit for a king.
A body that can handle her powers.
The metamorphosis nears its end,
she's ready to emerge from her shell.
Her own cocoon - her back - tears open,
and she spreads her pitch black wings.
The illusion of normalcy, of a human,
is gone. Replaced by a sparkle of deceit
From truth, a liar is born.
