Work Text:
After Quackity finally allowed Wilbur to have citizenship in his country and the brunette had slept over at Quackity's penthouse (sometimes not in the guest room either) more times than he can count for 3 months, they finally decided to admit that they were dating at this point. The nights spent in Quackity's bed, the lingering glances and touches, the drunken confessions, and so much more were a very clear indicator of that. It was also around this time that they realized the burning hatred for each other had dimmed over time, making the other more bearable most days.
And yet, one thing that hasn't really disappeared is their competitiveness.
Usually it's just over small, petty little things, like who pays first, who can get dressed first, etc.
Today was no different.
"I bet I would look better in your clothes than you do."
Wilbur looks up over the edge of his book from his spot on the couch, legs stretched across all of the cushions. He sees Quackity standing a few feet away with a challenging grin. A matching one finds its way onto Wilbur's own face and he raises an eyebrow.
"Oh really? And why do you think that?"
Quackity folds his arms. "Because I'm a little shorter than you, and oversized clothes always look good on shorter people."
Wilbur closes his book and tosses it onto the coffee table, having completely lost interest. "Is that a challenge? Because what if I look better in your clothes?"
Quackity laughs. "As if you'd be able to fit in them! Who would be the judge of this competition anyway??"
Wilbur stands up and walks towards him. "I don't see why it can't be us. It's always just been us judging each other. Besides, I'm sure there's something in your closet I can wear."
Quackity's arms fall back down to his side. "Very then. We each have twenty minutes to find and style something in the other's closet. Then we'll see who looks better."
Wilbur grins wider. "Deal. Hope you're ready to lose."
"As if!"
Quackity runs off to the guest room where Wilbur's clothes still were and Wilbur heads to Quackity's bedroom to raid his master closet. He flicks the light on and steps inside, looking around at the big, organized space. He's certain he can find something here that will fit!
Quackity, meanwhile, was taking out Wilbur's clothes, holding them up to his body to see just how much they drowned him. He's not that much shorter than the man, but for some reason his clothes still look massive.
"Whatever, I can make this work," he mutters to himself.
-
Twenty minutes later, the two of them were standing in the living room with their eyes covered by their hands.
"Alright, ready?" Quackity inquires.
"Yeah, whenever you are."
"On three. One..."
"Two..."
"THREE!"
The two let their arms fall and they are revealed to the sights in front of them.
Both Quackity and Wilbur ended up being floored by what the other was wearing.
Quackity had somehow managed to look adorable by wearing one of Wilbur's largest T-shirts he owned, the graphic being from some band, with one of the shoulders lightly slipping off. It was paired with some baggy sweatpants and topped off with his iconic red beanie. It should be illegal to look that adorable. Wilbur thinks to himself, continuing to take in the sight in front of him.
Wilbur, meanwhile, had managed to fit in one of Quackity's white button-ups for his casino uniform, black suspenders and all. What Quackity found unfair was how, with the shirt being a bit smaller, it hugged Wilbur's frame perfectly, outlining his silhouette.
Both of them realized they had just been staring for the past few seconds, dragging out the silence even more. Their faces were both tinged red from blush but neither decided to acknowledge it.
Wilbur coughs obviously into his fist to help break the silence. "So... that's the outfit you chose?" He asked, finding it a safer answer than saying what he thought.
Quackitys scoffs, fidgeting with his hands. "I would've tried to go for an actual outfit but there was no way to do it without smashing my wings," He explains while lightly flapping the small, golden wings on his back.
Wilbur nods as he twists his torso a bit to look over his shoulder. "Yeah, I forgot all of your clothes have holes in the back for your wings. It feels weird. Too airy."
Quackity shrugs and crosses his arms. "Alright, then, it's a draw?"
Wilbur looks back over at him and he smirks, stepping closer. "Aw, c'mon Q, we both know who won."
He grabs Quackity's hips to pull him closer to his own body. Quackity blushes harder as he places his hands on Wilbur's shoulders, having to look up at him from this proximity.
"You look so adorable, but we both know I won this one." He says in a slightly quieter tone and gently presses his forehead against Quackity's.
Quackity tries to scowl but he isn't sure he pulls it off. "Shut up. It-it's just a draw, got it?"
Wilbur chuckles and sighs. "Alright, fine. It'll be a draw. Just for you."
Quackity nods and steps away from the taller male, running his hand through his raven colored hair. "Alright, cool. Uhm, I'm gonna go get changed then."
But as he starts walking away, Wilbur wraps his arms around his waist once more. Quackity doesn't even get a chance to protest before he's being pulled down onto the couch and Wilbur's arms tighten around him, keeping him close against his chest.
Quackity was blushing like mad. "WILBUR! I need to go get changed!"
Wilbur just buries his face in his neck. "Nuh uh. You're too cute to get changed, not yet at least."
Quackity huffs but a small smile makes his way onto his face. "Does this mean I win?"
Instead of fighting it, Wilbur just lets out a big, dramatic sigh. "Yes, you win this one."
They were both pretty content with that response as they spent the next hour cuddling on the couch.
