Work Text:

Perseus mindlessly walks through the crowded streets, his head low to not draw attention to himself.

Corazon wanted to see him–at such an odd hour. For what exactly? He doesn’t even know, all she said in text was for “something important”.

What did “Something important" mean? What was something SO important that she needed him to come to her house? His mind wonders about many possibilities of what she means.

“I need to stop overthinking about this so hard. She probably wants to see me, that's all.” He guessed, but he could feel his hands sweating profusely. “I shouldn’t be this nervous to see her, I need something to calm my nerves.”

He digs in his pockets for anything. Until he finds it, a cigarette AND a lighter! Today might be his lucky day after all. Perseus takes a shortcut into a nearby alleyway to smoke, leaning on the wall. He exhales, watching the smoke from his cigarette fading into the air.

“Ugh..” He puts his lighter back into his pocket. “I need to stop lollygagging around.”

Perseus leaves the alleyway and continues his walk to Corazons house, the quick smoke calmed his nerves enough that he isn't thinking about it to much now.

Finally, after what seems like forever, he makes it to Corazon’s house, walking up the steps to her house. Perseus rings the door bell, and waits for her to open the door.

...Perseus could feel his palms sweating again, looking at them to distract himself while waiting for her to open the door.

"Not again." He nibbles on his lip. "She needs to hurry up."

Corazon opens the door, noticing his anxiousness and lip bleeding, she didn't really expect him to be this nervous about something this small, glancing at him. His knees buckle instantly, hands going to his face, biting his lip to the point it starts to bleed, her looking at him was the final straw.

"Perseus?" Corazon asked, grabbing him by the arm, shaking it slightly. "It's okay, what's wrong?" She goes on her knees.

" I'm...okay. " He lies through his teeth. " I swear, I'm fine Corazon, leave me alone. " Perseus shoves her to get into her house, sitting on her floor.

The door flung open, she stood up and followed him, closing the door behind her. Instead of sitting down next to him, she went to the kitchen, warming something up. Perseus could smell something sweet being warmed up, he hoped that it was cookies, it was one of his favorite foods to eat of course.

Blood started to trickle down his chin, taking a finger and smearing it, he looks down at it with pure indifference. "..I hate this." He muttered, before his mind can process what he's doing, Perseus stands up, pacing to the kitchen, sitting down at a nearby chair. "Corazon, i didn't mean to shove you out there—" Pathetic. He shouldn't be apologizing for something...this silly, it was a stupid push, she would understand.

"It's okay." The tray in her hand is full of cookies, putting it in front of him. "What I wanted to ask you about Perseus..." She seems rather hesitant, she's staring at Perseus intently while he's his cookies. "..What are we..? Do you see me as something more than a friend? You don't have to be embarrassed to admit it if that's true..."

What? Perseus stopped eating his cookies, staring back at Corazon but quickly looks at his palms which are sweating again..Well shit. " Uhm—we're friends of course, I've always saw you as a...friend." He chokes out his words, struggling to admit to the truth.

The truth is; he always saw her more than a friend since they were in the orphanage, she's his muse, Perseus could show her the hundreds of drawings of her, maybe that could show her how he felt about her, he loved her...it shook him to his core at first but it took him years to figure it out.

To Perseus, it was always one-sided since Corazon is a idol after all. he's a lousy journalist who reports on stupid stuff to make money. He is so OUT of her league! There are better and more attractive men out there her age..

"Are you sure? You're sweating." She could tell he was lying to her, it was quite obvious, Corazon grabbed his hand and squeezed it tightly; it was her way of telling him that he doesn't have to be embarrassed about telling the truth. "You need to tell me the truth Perseus."

" What are you talking about? I AM telling you the truth." Another lie, he's digging himself into a deeper hole, he can't tell her the truth, if he does it might ruin everything, how Corazon sees him and their relationship, he's spent years crafting this, if he told the truth all of that craft could go to waste, and he didn't like that one bit.

" Perseus... " An exhausted sigh comes from her. " I like you Perseus, I've liked you since our days in the orphanage, you've always been there for me when i needed it." She flusters, starting to sweat.

Holy shit. His body starts to shake, he gets from his seat, pacing around the same and fast steps, he didn't expect, he really didn't. He wanted her to reject him.

"No you don't! You don't like me...I'm just...a loser, you're too good for me, Corazon, too good." Perseus stumbles over his words, he storms out of her kitchen, going on her balcony, he stares at the city outline, no cigarette to calm his nerves, trying his best to ignore what Corazon said to him, he bites his lip again, this time harder that it draws blood instantly.

He blinks repeatedly, feeling the tears swelling up in his eyes, trying his best to not break down crying, it would be embarrassing since Corazon might see him doing so.

"Perseus...! " Corazon comes behind him, hugging him from behind, trying her best to comfort him. She could hear him whimpering, crying silently, his body shaking. "Perseus please don't cry.."

She turns him around so he could look at him, taking in his crying from, standing on her tippy toes she wipes his tears to the best ability. She didn't mean to make him cry, it wasn't her intention.

" Corazon.. " stumbling over his words, balling his fists up. "I like you too." He mumbles, rubbing the blood off his lip. "I've always liked you." He feels quite embarrassed at this current moment. "Sorry about my outburst."

He suddenly pulled her into his arms and gently caressed her neck with one hand, eventually their lips start to brush together. The smell of lavenders and something from other space which made his mind whirl with excitement, his arm going to her waist, holding her tight.

Their lips part after a while, Perseus takes deep breaths the blood on his lips smeared all over and is now all over Corazon’s lips, she leered at him with a expression that he couldn't read.

"I don't know what got into me. I didn't mean to kiss you like that—" He gets cut off as she warps her arms around his neck, running her fingers through his hair. Perseus felt her lips against his as the passionately kissed, it was too intense for him, he couldn't handle it!

Corazon whimpers in his mouth, Perseus starts to get overwhelmed—he could feel their salvia and sweat mixing together. " I...I love you so much Perseus. " She says against his lips, her body starting to shake from the sheer excitement of all of this.

"I love you too my dear Corazon." Perseus whispered against her lips, feeling glad that he told her how he truly felt.

They finally pull away, both breathing heavily. Corazon giggles. "Does this mean that we're together now?" She holds him tightly.

"Yeah." He whispers into her ear, "You're my girlfriend now."
