Work Text:
Pursuing Isamu was one of, if not, the best decision Yasu made in his life. Even though lots of people have been interested in him over the years, he has never accepted any of their advances, and therefore has never been in a relationship. He was too focused on his schoolwork during college, and when he finally graduated, he immediately had to take over his father’s company to make sure it wouldn’t go under.
When he went to pick Pita up from school that fateful day, Yasu had not expected to meet the most gorgeous man he had ever seen. Pita had mentioned a ‘teacher Isa’ several times, but he never bothered to give that name a face. His sharp gaze in his almond eyes caught his attention almost instantly, and his shocked expression made Yasu want to lovingly tease him.
Isamu’s nervous attitude towards him made Yasu way too giddy. The way he stared at him and pulled his hand away after their handshake as if he got burned was almost adorable, even if it was unprofessional, and Yasu thanked the Gods for giving his son such a pretty teacher.
His personality was fun, too. Yasu doesn’t have much patience for bratty or stubborn people, but Isamu’s personality never felt like an inconvenience. He enjoyed his confidence, his sassy comebacks, and the way he would react when Yasu teased him— his eyes would widen, then he would get defensive, and when he couldn’t think of a way to insult him, he would just stutter and look away in a way that reminded Yasu of a feisty bunny.
His beauty was a bonus— brown almond eyes, soft looking hair, almost round cheeks with a subtle blush made him way too appealing. His body was slender with a small waist and long legs, and his hips complimented his shoulders nicely. Yasu also liked the cute little mole on his neck, and he frequently kissed at that spot later in their relationship.
When they got together, seeing Isamu in his everyday life made Yasu fall for him even more. One weekend, Yasu had invited him over, and he then stayed the night. The next morning, when Yasu woke up, he was greeted to the lovely sight of Isamu curled up against his chest with his cheek pressed against his collarbone. His long lashes framed his face beautifully, and his tousled hair looked extra soft in the morning light.
Usually, Yasu would wake up first to make breakfast for both of them and Pita, but he couldn’t resist sleeping in just to watch him. Isamu’s limbs were wrapped around him like a koala, so he wouldn’t have been able to move without waking him up anyways.
When he woke up a few minutes later, he sleepily blinked up at Yasu that made the other man want to coo at him. He yawned, and then sat up to stretch his arms, which gave Yasu the perfect view of him wearing his old shirts. Isamu would then look at him with that half awake gaze and plop down against his chest a second later.
Sometimes he wakes up to Isamu dressing up for the day. Yasu especially enjoyed those mornings, solely because he got to watch Isamu take off and put on clothes (Isamu had told him it’s not nearly as sexy as Yasu sees it, but Isamu also thinks that he’s not that attractive, so Yasu doesn’t listen to him).
Isamu being over 90% of the time meant that he gets to see Pita plenty of times too. Despite being stubborn with his partner, he was amazing with children, and you could evidently see that by the way Pita talked about him. Even before they became a couple, the boy always sang high praises for his teacher, so it’s no surprise he sticks to him like glue every chance he can.
One day, Yasu was called to work for an issue no one could figure out, so he had to leave both of them behind to deal with his stupid employees. The issue was much more complicated than expected, and he couldn’t come back home until much later.
He had texted Isamu several apologies throughout the night, but the other man never replied to him, so Yasu was worried he was mad. He rushed home to second he got the chance, but when he expected to see a pissed Isamu sitting in the living room, he was greeted by the sight of him fast asleep with Pita adorably cuddled up against him.
No one said anything when Yasu changed his lockscreen wallpaper to that picture the next day.
___
Yasu always enjoyed cooking, and he happily made all 3 meals for his son and boyfriend whenever he could. Isamu had mentioned he never eats homemade meals or cooks, so he got curious and asked him if he can cook at all.
Isamu sheepishly looked away, avoiding his gaze. “... I’m not the best,”
Yasu smiled and curled an arm around his waist, pulling him in until Isamu was flush against him. “No way you’re that bad.”
He was, in fact, that bad.
Isamu had attempted to make simple fried rice for lunch. The first red flag was when he tried to chop the veggies: he had the wrong grip, all of his pieces were different sizes, and he almost cut his fingertips off twice. He also struggled with peeling the garlic, which Yasu didn’t even dare to laugh at cuz he knew he would see the cutting board flying towards his face if he did.
Thankfully he knew how to cook the rice, so at least there was one thing Yasu couldn’t make fun of him for. The issue came when he tried to fry it.
Fried rice is probably one of the simplest dishes in the world. You just put the veggies into a pan, add the rice, wait until it has a nice crispy underside and then crack two eggs to scramble them. Even a child could get it right.
It went okay at first. Isamu put his vegetables on medium heat and added soy sauce and minced garlic. When the garlic started to consistently sizzle, he dumped the bowl of rice. Yasu watched him from behind, giving him an approving nod whenever the other man looked back at him.
Everything was going well, so he decided to take out a bowl for the food and two sets of chopsticks. Isamu didn’t say anything while Yasu wasn’t looking, so when he looked back at the pan a minute later, he expected to see normal fried rice.
The underside of the rice somehow burned. Yasu really had no idea how Isamu did it, but when he took his eyes off of the pan for one second and came back, half of the rice was black while the vegetables had charred edges.
Isamu looked back at him nervously, an egg in his hand. Yasu just stared at him, shocked by how someone can fuck up such an easy dish.
“Isa… let’s stop.”
Trying his best to salvage the meal, Isamu sprinkled a few peppercorns into the bowl of rice and burnt vegetables. When they cooled down, both he and Yasu picked up a pair of chopsticks to take a bite.
The texture was horrible, and the peppercorns didn’t help. The rice was hard while the vegetables had an awful taste, which the peppercorns elevated. Isamu made a face so pitiful while he watched Yasu eat he didn’t even have the strength to criticize him.
Yasu put his chopsticks down, pushing the bowl away. He calmly sighed, taking Isamu’s hand and looking at him. “I think it’s better if I cook for us.”
“... I agree.”
___
Isamu was very expressive. His expression changed even in the most subtle ways, and his eyes could go from menacing to cute in a second. Yasu enjoyed this fact, and he loved watching Isamu’s reaction to anything around him.
What most people don’t know is that Isamu has very good puppydog eyes, which he used to his advantage. Whenever he wanted something from Yasu that he couldn’t get right away, he always made sure to beg with the most pathetic face he could muster.
The first time it happened, it was just a normal request for a night out. Both of them had a stressful week, and the older man wanted to unwind. Even though Yasu has more refined tastes, he still accompanies Isamu when he goes out to the bar whenever he can. That night though, he was already tired, and wasn’t fond of the idea of leaving his comfortable bed for a couple of bottles of beer.
When he said no, he expected Isamu to nod and stay, or go out with his friends. Instead, he took Yasu’s arm, wrapping his arms around it and pressed his face against his shoulder. He then tilted his head down just a little, emphasizing his doe-eyed gaze and the little pout on his lips.
“Please, Yasu? Just for an hour or two…” he said in a sickly sweet voice, and Yasu’s heart almost stopped at the sound of it.
He does think that Isamu is cute, but he never expected the man to act cute on his own! Only Pita begs like this!
He stared at him in shock, taking in the pitiful gaze and rosy cheeks. He was clinging to his arm like a koala, as if he was afraid he would run away if he loosened his grip. Yasu found it adorable, and was then horrified when he realized the puppydog eyes were actually working.
He bit his bottom lip, wondering what to say. Isamu was waiting for him, but when he didn’t respond in a few seconds, his pout intensified and he looked away. That little gesture made Yasu fold like paper.
He sighed, taking Isamu’s chin in his hand and kissing his head. “Okay, but only for an hour.”
Isamu immediately smiled, loosening his grip completely to instead get on his toes to kiss Yasu. He giggled, burying his face in his neck after pulling away. “I can’t believe that worked,” he purred, looking up at Yasu, “you’re so weak, I almost feel bad.”
Yasu let out an indulgent smile, huffing at Isamu’s behavior. “It seems like I would do anything as long as you beg enough.”
That night when they got home from the bar, Isamu was shoved against the bed and worked until he made sure to regret his little stunt.
___
Yasu watched with a smug smile as Isamu inspected the marks on his neck and waist. He may have been too rough last night, but Isamu didn’t seem upset by it, and besides, the sight of his boyfriend squirming from how much his body aches made it worth it.
He grabbed a towel from the shelf and ran it under cold water until a small part of it was wet. He pressed the wet cloth against the red splotches on Isamu’s neck, and the man sighed in appreciation when the cool material hit his hot skin.
“Next time,” Yasu started, pressing the towel against him a little harder, “you’ll think twice before guilt tripping me like that.”
Isamu snorted, bending his neck to the side so Yasu had access to more skin. “I have a feeling that won’t stop me from doing that in the future.”
“Then I have to be extra thorough the next time it happens.
