The summer sun was sweltering and the cicadas surrounding three figures were absolutely deafening. Far from the bustling cities of ancient time South Korea, atop the mountain on the outskirts of an unnamed village the black tail of a feline swayed back and forth leisurely.
The black cat, Kim Soleum breathed heavily as he fanned himself, sweat glistened down his face and into his slightly loosened white Jeogori(저고리). It felt like his brain would begin cooking at some point.
‘It's way too hot.’
His ears twitched as the wind brushed past his skin, unlike the cool winds of spring that he relished in just a few weeks ago, the searing heat was carried by the wind, making him truly feel he was in an oven. He could've sworn he felt a piece of him flake off.
It was hot enough that he had to constantly pull the fabric away from his skin to feel even the slightest bit better, anything to escape the stickiness of his own warm clothes. So why was he being bothered now?
Yes, he was being bothered by two troublesome wolf lovers.
Sharp black ears stood tall on the figure beside him, a neatly brushed black tail wagged back and forth, soft thumps sounded out due to it hitting his back with consistent force. B was leaning his full weight onto Kim Soleum.
“Sol-ah, are you feeling okay, is it too hot for you? Want me to tie your hair back?”
“I should commend your ability to still wear multiple layers in black in the pinnacle of summer…”
The sly wolf reached his long fingers out to the pale slender neck. Those onyx eyes curved into crescents.
“I'm still so sad you clipped some of your hai-.”
B's words were cut short as his hanbok(한복) was forcefully tugged. The hanbok was forcefully lifted up by two slender hands causing the entire man to be lifted into the air. Long shaggy gray hair cascaded down, two wolf ears of the same color stood out like mountain peaks on that head. J3's golden eyes stared coldly at a smiling B.
“Give some… space.”
The long black nails punctured some small holes into the black hanbok due to the sharpness and level of force used. Behind him was an ash gray tail bobbing back and forth.
“Better I stay around him than a mutt.”
B shined a radiant smile at J3's deadpan annoyed face. The black wolf tail still paced back and forth in glee despite the confrontation. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy being picked up. Sweat trickled down like beads on the usually covered and now glistening shirtless body of the gray wolf.
“Are you sweating, Jay?”
The cat tail formed a perfect “?” in the air, it was natural for Soleum to be confused as he knew J3 was usually very cold. At the question, J3 flushed a bit.
“I….exercised…”
Through the heat that blurred his vision Soleum could clearly make out the bruises and flush of red on B's neck that was revealed after the collar was suddenly pulled up by. The two had gone missing earlier while looking for leaves to make shade and repair part of the old roof. It was clear what they got sidetracked by since neither returned with the leaves.
As J3 let go a heavy thud sounded as B hit the floor rather hard. The long gray hair swished as the thin gray wolf hurriedly took the spot B was sitting in. After a few more antagonistic remarks aimed at J3, B quickly found himself on the opposite side of Soleum.
Soleum was way too exhausted to deal with their antics at the moment. He blew a sigh as two ringed hands clasped his own. Two heavy hot bodies suddenly pressed onto his sides.
“It's too hot for this…”
“That's true.”
“Not…that hot…”
The two hands squeezed his, asking for a response, when he squeezed back he felt the two wolf tails hitting his back from wagging again. Two cold lips pressed a small peck on his face, one on his cheek and one on his forehead.
‘I guess, not that hot.’
The black cat purred slightly.
