Work Text:
Jay sat down on his bed, panting, as he caught his breath. His first instinct was to look at his window, which he immediately regretted as he closed his eyes the moment lightning struck just outside his window followed by a loud roar of the thunder.
He clutched his chest and checked the time—4:36am. There’s absolutely no reason for him to wake up at this hour on a weekend, but with the nightmare he just had and the pouring rain, there’s no way he’d get back to sleep. Besides, it’s not like he could fall asleep anyway.
With a sigh, he forced himself out of bed and took his blanket with him. He didn’t care whether the ends were getting dragged along the floor, he just wanted its warmth as he made his way to the kitchen to make coffee.
He leaned on his kitchen counter as the smell of freshly brewed coffee permeated the air. The morning is deeply quiet that all he could hear was the sound of the rain’s downpour and the sound of coffee slowly filling his cup.
Mornings like this aren’t too bad, if only he had a complete eight-hour sleep, but no. He barely had any, he kept waking up in the middle of the night, and to top it all off, he had been getting nightmares every. single. night.
He felt restless.
He did whatever he could, but nothing seemed to work for him. He was told by his friends to get himself checked, but he never really had the time to do so. Or maybe he deliberately refused to do so.
He can manage.
Or at least he’s trying to convince himself that he can.
The moment his machine poured out the last drop of his coffee, he immediately took a sip. Straight black, just like how he wants it.
Maybe he should cut his caffeine intake, maybe he should stop watching horror movies before he goes to sleep, maybe he should really get some professional help…
But he just shook out all of the thoughts and basked into the cool morning as he listened to the sound of the rain.
—
Jay browsed through his messages, declined a few invitations he got from his friends to go out for lunch tomorrow, and placed his phone face-down on the center table of his small living room.
It’s already ten in the morning, the last of the raindrops have already settled, and he’s in the middle of cleaning his apartment unit when he heard the sound of his intercom ringing.
He isn’t expecting anything or anyone. He had hoped that whoever it was by the door got the unit number wrong and would be on their way.
By the second ring, he hoped that the person would think that nobody’s home and just go. But by the third, Jay accepted his defeat as he placed the vacuum right by the wall next to the kitchen.
When he reached the door and checked the intercom, he was greeted by an unfamiliar face. A guy with cat-like eyes whose dimples peeked through his cheeks whenever he pursed his lips stood tall outside of his unit with broad shoulders, a huge backpack, a luggage, and a carry-on on the floor.
“Hi. I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude, but who are you?” Jay said as he pressed on the call button of his intercom.
The guy jolted in surprise, holding the strap of his backpack, before he walked near the intercom and spoke.
“Hello, I’m Jungwon, and I’m your new roommate. Uh… You’re Jongseong, right? Jongseong Park? Jake Sim told me you’d be home today and I can move in. Did he not tell you?”
Jay shut his eyes tightly and mentally cursed Jake for not telling him in advance that his new roommate would move in today. He was already informed last week about somebody moving in the vacant room of his unit, but Jake never really followed up. He had only thought that the new tenant changed his mind and he’d get the unit to himself for a few more months or so, but Jake probably forgot to inform him.
Having someone as both your friend and landlord at the same time is both a blessing and a curse, really.
But oh well, at least he now has someone to share the bills with.
“Hello?”
He was shaken out of his thoughts when Jungwon spoke once more right outside his door. Jay immediately unlocked it as he opened it and revealed the guy with all of his stuff.
“Hi. Yes, I’m Jongseong, but you can call me Jay. Sorry it took me a while. Jake told me about a new roommate, but he didn’t tell me you’d arrive today. Come in. I’m just cleaning.”
He initially thought the guy would be a bit pissed for waiting, but he only gave a dimpled smile as he took his bags and went inside the unit.
The place isn’t anything special, but with the years he had stayed here, he had managed to make it a home.
“No worries. It probably slipped Jake’s mind. I should’ve asked for your number from him so I could tell you myself.”
Jay only gave him a tiny smile and a nod before he offered to show him around the unit. It isn’t too big, but it perfectly caters to him and one more roommate.
Good thing he already had the other room cleared of his stuff when Jake told him about a roommate. At least Jungwon would be able to start placing his stuff around.
After the short tour of his—their—place, he faced Jungwon before grabbing the vacuum he had placed on the wall earlier.
“If you need me, I’m just out here cleaning.”
He expected that Jungwon would just give him a nod, go to his own room, fix his stuff, and go with his day. But he didn’t. Instead, he smiled at him—now only wearing a sleeveless top—and spoke.
“I’ll help you. What do you need?”
—
Jay thought having a new roommate would only mean having someone to split the bills with or help with the chores in their little home. But the past months of having Jungwon around, he immediately gained a new friend.
“Today was shit at work. They made me rush a report that wasn’t initially due until next week and I had to work overtime just so I could finish it within the day. I missed the last train too and taking the bus really cost me an extra hour I could have spent staying at home.” Jay said as he plopped down on the chair that he and Jungwon like to call “the waiting chair”—the chair they sit on when they’re still wearing their outside clothes and haven’t taken a shower yet.
Jungwon chuckled as he gave Jay a small pat on his head.
“Your boss should know how to respect people’s time and inform you of changes such as this.”
Jay sighed, now removing his socks.
“It’s fine. It doesn’t usually happen anyway.”
“Still.” Jungwon responded as he took Jay’s coat and shoes and placed them on their corresponding places in their unit before taking the pair of slippers right by the door.
Jay briefly stopped as he watched Jungwon’s small action—something that he usually does but never really verbalized it for Jungwon to do.
He immediately avoided his gaze when Jungwon faced him as he spoke.
“You know, if you need a ride home, you can always tell me. I’d be glad to pick you up. It’s not like your work isn’t on the way home from mine.”
Jay hesitated at first, but he eventually gave in when Jungwon agreed to split the gas.
But the latter fills up his tank before Jay could even notice and passed it off as “my tank’s still nearly full.”
Maybe that was the first sign that Jay should’ve taken note of.
—
The following weeks weren’t out of the ordinary, or maybe that’s what Jay thinks.
True to his words, Jungwon fetches him from work before they go home together.
Not only that, but every morning he’d wake up to the smell of brewed coffee and breakfast served on their dining table.
“I figured you needed some more rest, so I decided to cook breakfast for the both of us.”
Jay had always been on breakfast duty.
He still feels restless on a daily and wakes up in god-awful hours of the morning, so why not prepare breakfast for him and Jungwon instead? Besides, Jungwon is doing him a favor of picking him up from work even when there are times that he’d work overtime. Jungwon would patiently wait for him.
But as soon as Jungwon figured out Jay’s schedule—preparing breakfast at five a.m., Jay would now find himself seated on the dining table at the same time, but with a complete breakfast already prepared in front of him.
It wasn’t always like that though.
Sometimes they would argue about mundane things like Jungwon forgetting to take out the trash or Jay being unable to properly place his dirty clothes in the hamper—which they would easily resolve.
Sometimes it’s something a little bit more serious, like the time Jay failed to inform Jungwon he’d go out for a company dinner and left him waiting right outside of their building for hours.
“I don’t mind waiting, Jay. But I wish you’d inform me of your plans so I know what to do next.”
Jungwon sighed as he ran his palm through his hair with a tipsy Jay sitting down on their waiting chair.
Prior to this, he had waited outside of their apartment building until a car pulled up right in front and a tall guy came out the vehicle with an arm around Jay’s waist, helping him stay straight.
He scoffed at the sight before standing up from the step of the stairs he was sitting on and approached Jay and the other guy who towered over his roommate.
“Who are you?”
Jungwon didn’t mean for it to sound rude, but it did. Good thing the guy only laughed as he gently tapped Jay’s waist to keep him awake. Jungwon didn’t like that one bit, especially when the guy chuckled.
“Hi, I’m Sunghoon, Jay’s workmate. He had a few drinks, but he’ll be fine. And don’t worry, I’m sober. Our other colleagues are in the car passed-out. I’m the designated driver for the night. Here.”
Jungwon took Jay in his arms. He immediately smelled the alcohol on him the moment his head bobbed on his shoulder. He could only sigh at Jay’s current state.
“Thanks.”
“Don’t worry about it. By the way, I didn’t know Jay had a boyfriend. I would have to tell our colleague who wanted to make a move.” Sunghoon chuckled.
Make a move, huh?
Why did the thought feel bitter?
Jungwon only nodded before he gently caressed Jay’s face, assessing whether the guy could still make his way towards the elevator—he couldn’t.
So Jungwon did the most practical thing he could think of—carry Jay in his arms.
He felt his heart race—this is the closest Jay has ever been. And it didn’t help when Jay nuzzled his face closer to Jungwon’s chest. If only Jay isn't half-passed out, he would have pointed out how quick his heart is beating.
He really couldn’t take it, that the moment they arrived inside their unit, he had to place Jay down on their waiting chair, but not without making sure he’s sober enough to sit down without falling.
Jay chuckled, making him look at the guy immediately.
“I’m sorry, Jungwon. I didn’t want to be a bother! I didn’t think you’d wait even when I told you not to pick me up today.” He said, lids opening and closing.
Come to think of it, looking back, Jay did tell him not to wait, but he still did.
“I’m sleepy, Jungwon.”
He shook himself out of his thoughts when Jay spoke. He wanted him to eat first, ask him to get a change of clothes completely knowing he absolutely hated going through the house without taking a shower and getting a change of clothes, but with his current state, he knew it’s quite a lost cause.
So Jungwon did what he had to do.
—
The following morning, Jay woke up surprisingly well—the best he had in months, years even. He doesn't know.
At first, he thought that that it's probably four a.m. again, but with the sunlight peeking through the blinds hitting his face, he's so sure that it's way past that time.
He was too preoccupied with the sleep he had that he didn't immediately notice how the interior of the room he's in isn't his, how the sheets felt different, and how he felt some sort of weight around his waist.
Jay felt horrified when he everything dawned on him.
Holy shit. I'm in Jungwon's room!
He tried to get out of his roommate's bed, but with the slight shift of his weight, he felt Jungwon pulling him closer, still asleep.
It took him a few more minutes of fighting himself if he should wake Jungwon up or not, but he eventually decided that he should.
Because one more minute of being under Jungwon's hold, his heart would probably burst.
"Jungwon... Jungwon, hey." He whispered, tapping his arm that's still snaked around his waist. His back was faced towards Jungwon so he had to look back just so he could check on the other guy.
He regretted it, sort of, because the moment that he turned his head, his eyes immediately locked with Jungwon's—still hazy from just waking up.
Jay thought Jungwon would immediately pull away, stand up, maybe feel awkward, or whatever it is Jay is feeling right now, but no.
Jungwon only looked at him with a smirk before muttering a low "good morning."
What the fuck?
He didn't know how he's supposed to act, but for Jay, he absolutely cannot keep himself from being expressive; so he immediately stood up from Jungwon's bed. He's so sure that his face is now red as tomatoes.
The other guy chuckled as he lifted his body a bit and rested the side of his head on his palm with his elbow on the bed.
"What happened last night?" Jay said carefully, trying to read Jungwon's eyes, but the other only gave him a dimpled smile and bit his lip.
"Your colleague Sunghoon brought you home. You were too tipsy to do shit, so I brought you to my room because one, you don't like staying in your room too long whenever you just came outside; and two, I don't want to touch you without your consent." Jungwon pointed at his clothes, and true enough, he's still in the same clothes he was wearing last night. Except he's out of his coat and socks.
Jay touched his face, he didn't feel sticky at all. He looked in the mirror right next to Jungwon's bed and found out that he isn't wearing makeup too.
"I know how much you care about your skincare routine, so I did it for you. I wiped your face and neck with warm water and some soap. That's about it."
He opened his mouth to try and say something, but he couldn't find the right words. So he ended up closing it again.
The other chuckled at his demeanor. Jay wasn't sure if he's teasing, so he just kept his mouth shut. Jungwon noticed his silence, so he only bit his lip as he stood up from the bed.
"I was supposed to sleep on the couch when I was done with your skincare, but you wouldn't let go of my hand. You told me to stay and wait for you to fall asleep... I did... but you didn’t want to let go anyway. I’m sorry if that made you uncomfortable. If you want, we can just forget about this and pretend it never happened.”
Jay spoke faster than he could think about his words.
“No! Uh, I mean, it’s fine. I… actually slept really well. It’s fine.” He said, cheeks flushed before glancing on Jungwon’s clock. “Anyway! I’m going to take a shower!” He added as he made a run for it towards the door. But before he could take a few steps further, he came back and peeked a bit from the door frame.
“Thanks for taking care of me, Jungwonie.”
Jungwon couldn’t help but smile like an idiot.
—
The following days were pretty much normal.
Not really.
Their days are composed of their usual routine—Jungwon waking up earlier than Jay to cook breakfast, dropping him off work and picking him up at the end of the weekday.
On weekends, they would go on grocery runs together. Sometimes they would watch a movie on their sofa and order takeout. When they’re not together, they still keep each other posted on their whereabouts or whatever they’re doing.
It’s pretty much the usual things they have always been doing. Each day is composed of things that Jay usually did alone before to exhaust himself in the hopes of getting a good night’s rest. But now he has Jungwon, so he didn’t have to do everything alone because he knew completely that the guy is down to do whatever Jay wants to.
Everything would have been perfectly normal if only Jay didn’t have lingering thoughts of asking Jungwon to sleep next to him—at least until he gets the kind of rest he got when he slept next to him. Especially now that he woke up yet again in the middle of the night.
The thing is, he never really had a good night’s sleep until the day of his company dinner. He knew it was sleeping next to Jungwon that got him to sleep well because of course he already attempted to sleep while he’s drunk in the past; which he only got a hangover from.
He still gets nightmares. He still wakes up multiple times at night. He would have just let it be if only he didn’t get a taste of what it’s like to be well-rested again.
He wanted to ask Jungwon, he really wanted to.
But he figured that asking him would hammer down the final nail on his coffin because he knew he was already catching feelings.
Everything they’ve been doing felt so right and so wrong at the same time. It felt too domestic for people who were only meant to be roommates—friends at most.
Asking Jungwon to sleep next to him meant playing a game he was meant to lose in.
He knew Jungwon wouldn’t say no. After all, he only loved to help and seemed unaffected with everything too; while Jay is here, figuring out whether the lines of their friendship were starting to blur.
He wouldn’t say no, because from his own words, “You’re my roommate and now my friend. Of course I care about you.”
It certainly didn’t help that Jungwon wasn’t able to pick him up from work one day, only to find out that he went out with a girl he’s unfamiliar with.
Jay felt stupid when he thought that things between him and Jungwon meant something, but he figured out that maybe the guy is just really really nice.
It’s fine. Sunghoon was there to take him home anyway.
“What the hell, I thought you were already together!”
“Hell no! I mean, I like him, but he doesn’t feel the same way. He even went out with a girl today!”
“That’s bullshit. That girl is probably no one. When I dropped you home after our company dinner, he looked like he was about to sever my head and serve it on a silver platter. Trust me, that guy would kill just to be with you.”
Okay, maybe it wasn’t really fine and Sunghoon only messed with his head a little more.
Jay saw the lightning flash right outside the window. He closed his eyes and immediately covered himself with his blanket as he anticipated the sound of thunder.
He flinched when the roar of it came as he plopped down on the bed. After another hit of the lightning and sound of the thunder, the power went out.
Jay sighed as he curved into a ball as he held his blanket tighter. He isn’t really afraid of storms, but he isn’t exactly comfortable with them either. He hated them.
As soon as he heard the heavy downpour outside with the rain hitting his window, he heard a knock on his door along with it.
“Jay?” Jungwon said from outside.
He could only sigh as he fumbled for his phone on the bed and turning on the flashlight before heading towards the door to open it, his blanket still wrapped around him.
“Jungwon? Why are you still up?” Jay gaped at Jungwon, eyes bloodshot, but surprise still evident in them as he stared at the person in front of him who’s also holding his phone up to serve as light.
“It’s raining pretty hard outside and it woke me up. I know how much you hate when there’s a storm, so I came to check up on you. Not to mention the power outage too.”
Jay wasn’t able to respond in time, so Jungwon spoke once again.
“Do you want me to stay with you?”
Still, he didn’t know what to say or how to respond. Jungwon might have mistaken his silence as a no that he got ready to leave. “It’s okay, I can just g–“
“Stay.” Jay said as he reached out for Jungwon’s arm. His eyes glistened as the light shone through them.
Jungwon licked his lips as he nodded and made his way inside before closing the door.
As soon as they’re both settled on the bed, none of them really talked. They were enveloped in silence except for the sound of the pouring rain.
It was Jungwon who broke the silence as he gently tugged on Jay’s blanket.
“Come here.”
Jay obliged as he moved closer to Jungwon who has his arms open for him. As soon as he’s within reach, Jungwon took him closer as he gently pulled him down towards the bed.
He hoped Jungwon won’t hear the fast beating of his heart, or at least he would pretend that he couldn’t.
“Get some more sleep, Jay. It’s still four in the morning.”
He wanted to ask what they’re doing, what they are, what this means, but even if he had the courage to do so, he wasn’t able to when he slowly felt his sleepiness take over with the way Jungwon is caressing his hair and humming a lullaby.
That’s how it has been following that night.
Every night, Jungwon would sleep in Jay’s room and hold him until he falls asleep. At first, Jay told him that he could just wait for Jay to fall asleep before going back to his own room. Jungwon agreed half-heartedly because he didn’t actually care whether he falls asleep in Jay’s bed or not. All he cares about is Jay getting a good night’s rest.
That proved to be true, because everyday, Jay would wake up so much better because his sleep was never cut short. He stopped having nightmares too. All he gets is a peaceful night and a warm morning with Jungwon next to him.
One morning, Jay woke up to the sound of birds chirping and the sunlight that hit his face. He didn’t feel groggy or restless yet again. He recalled last night’s events as he smiled to himself before looking at his bed, only to find it empty.
It’s quite unusual, but Jay figured Jungwon is in the kitchen preparing breakfast already.
True enough, breakfast was indeed ready as soon as the smell of bacon hit his nose the moment he opened his door, but Jungwon is nowhere to be found.
Jay checked the other guy’s room, only to find his bed perfectly neat and untouched. He felt sad and disappointed—and that’s when he knew.
He’s in deeper than he imagined.
Left with no choice, he sat on their dining table and took out the cover of the food, only to find out a note stuck on the butt of his plate that’s placed upside down.
‘Had to go out early today to do errands, but I made breakfast for you.’
He wanted to ask what errands could he possibly do so early in the morning, on a Sunday too, but he decided not to pry. Instead, he made plans to go out with his friends, Sunoo and Ni-ki.
—
“Pay up.” Ni-ki groaned as he took out his wallet and grabbed a couple of bills before handing them to Sunoo.
“What the hell? Did you just gamble on my love life?” Jay said, horrified, as Sunoo smiled triumphantly as he kept the money safe in his own wallet.
“No hard feelings, darling. Besides, it was Ni-ki’s idea. He said there was no way you’d fall for your roommate.”
“No fair! Why are you throwing me under the bus? You were in it too!” Ni-ki said, which only made Sunoo laugh.
“Only because I wanted to prove a point.” He said as he took Jay’s hand into his. “The moment you told me you’ve been looking forward to movie marathon sessions and grocery runs with Jungwon, I already knew. So, how are you feeling?”
Jay knew Sunoo’s right. He’s usually the go-with-the-flow type of person, but when Jungwon moved into his apartment, he started looking forward to the simplest things that they’re doing together.
He knew completely that everything was too domestic to be an act between two roommates, but he just shrugged it all off.
“I don’t know if I want to fuck him or kill him.”
Ni-ki choked on his soda with the sudden bluntness of his friend.
“Don’t act as if you aren’t married to Sunoo with kids, Ni-ki.” He said, making Sunoo laugh in his seat as he patted Jay’s hand.
“Look, you won’t get answers if you don’t ask questions. If he feels the same way, then that’s great. If he doesn’t, it’s his loss. You’re the strongest person I know. Even if you found a safe space in the form of your roommate, you could easily take that away too.”
Sunoo is right. He wouldn’t really figure things out just by letting feelings consume him completely. He knew he had to do something.
So the moment he saw Jungwon pass right outside the cafe that he and his friends were in, he didn’t think twice of bolting out and following him.
Only to find himself staring at the same girl he saw him with from before right across the street, kissing the top of her head, before he patted the girl’s head as he guided her towards the car’s passenger seat.
Jay felt stupid, but more than that, he felt hurt. He knew this was a possibility, but he held on to the chance that maybe he was wrong. Yet here he is, witnessing a fear he never knew consumed his entire being.
He never returned to the cafe nor did he answer his friends’ calls. Instead, he hailed a cab and went home.
The moment he arrived, he scanned through the place. He felt his heart drop to his stomach as he recalled everything they did together.
From cooking together, washing dishes, watching movies, or even staying up together talking about their day, or their dreams, or simply staying quiet as they basked in each other’s warmth under the blanket. He thought whether these are things that roommates normally do.
But it doesn’t matter now.
He doesn’t know what he’s doing, but he grabbed his backpack and started filling it with clothes. It may seem like it’s stupid and he isn’t really thinking this through, but he was so out of it.
All he could think of is that he wanted to get out of their shared apartment, at least in the meantime. Until he figures out his own feelings and how he could move forward after what he saw today.
But fate has other plans, because just as he was about to step out of their unit, that’s when the door opened with Jungwon coming in.
“Jay? What are you– where are you going?” His smile immediately faltered as soon as he noticed the bags that Jay was carrying.
“I’m going to be out for a few weeks. Don’t worry, I’d still send you my share of the bills and–“
“Jay, I know something’s bothering you. I can see it in your eyes.”
And Jay hated it, really. He hated how Jungwon knew every bit of his being but he doesn’t want him the way that he does.
“It doesn’t matter Jungwon. Now please move out of the way because I’ll miss the bus.”
Before Jay could even take a step towards the dood, Jungwon immediately closed it with his foot.
“Talk to me first, Jay. I’ll take you wherever tonight, but you have to talk to me first.”
Jay only looked at him briefly before he avoided his gaze and attempted to get out of the unit, but Jungwon was faster and grabbed him by the waist.
“I don’t think so, baby. Tell me what our problem is first and then I’ll let you go.”
Is he hearing this right? ‘Baby?’
What the actual fuck?
“I had a feeling that it was you that my sister was pertaining to when she said she saw somebody watching us. Good thing I trust my instincts enough to go straight here after dropping her off her university dorm.”
Sister?
Oh what the fuck.
Jungwon took a step closer towards Jay. The latter felt his heart racing—out of excitement or nervousness, he doesn’t know. It was too late when he realized that he’s already cornered by Jungwon, who was quick to grab the straps of his backpack and easily slid the bag off of him and discarded it to the side.
Jay avoided Jungwon’s gaze. He could now feel his breath against his cheek. Jungwon held his chin gently so his eyes could meet his.
“If my actions weren’t obvious enough… I love you, Jay.”
What the fuck. He loves me?
Jungwon fumbled for something inside his pocket—his eyes never leaving his.
“Cliché as it may seem, I think I fell in love with you the moment you stepped out of our door. Harder with every time I spent with you, and deeper with every detail I got to know about you. Your perfections and every flaw—I love all of them.”
He stepped even closer.
“Pardon me if my actions weren’t enough to pass for a guy who is very much in love with you and came off as ‘a very kind roommate’ instead.” He chuckled.
Jay held his breath, drunk with every word that comes out of Jungwon’s mouth.
If this is just a dream, then it’s the cruelest and most vicious nightmare he would ever have.
But it isn’t. It’s his reality.
Jungwon waited for Jay to talk, but he couldn’t find the right words. So he leaned forward instead. For a minute there, Jay thought that Jungwon was going to kiss him as he closed his eyes tightly, but it never came.
Instead, he felt a thin, cold metal around his neck.
“This wasn’t the confession I was hoping to do tonight when I bought this necklace with my sister; but a confession’s a confession, don’t you think?”
At this point, Jay couldn’t care less about choosing the right words to say. He felt overwhelmed in a good way, and still not over Jungwon’s sudden confession that he felt stupid yet relieved at the same time.
Before Jungwon could move back further, Jay immediately wrapped his arm around his neck as he crashed his lips against his.
Jungwon was caught off-guard, but he immediately found his footing as he grabbed Jay by the waist and pulled him closer towards him and deepened the kiss.
It was brief, yet full of meaning.
Jay rested his forehead against Jungwon’s.
“I hate you.”
“I know you do.”
“You’re an idiot.”
“So are you.”
Jay scoffed as he playfully hit Jungwon on his shoulder once before he held his hand and pulled him into a hug instead.
“We’re both idiots, but we love each other anyway.”
“I still owe your sister an apology. I can’t believe I assumed she was someone else. She looked completely different from the photos you showed me.”
“My sister refuses to take photos that aren’t taken on her phone and forgets to send them to me. The ones I showed you are dated three years ago.”
Jay felt stupid for immediately drawing into conclusions, but refused to acknowledge the signs that Jungwon was already giving him.
“Don’t beat yourself up too much, baby. You can make it up to me by kissing me some more, yeah?”
And that, Jay did.
