Work Text:
The books that Master Qifrey owns are heavy and tightly-worded, dark ink scrawling into each other, and it's enough to set Coco's head spinning as she traces her finger over the page once more. She's tucked into a window seat, the bright moonlight enough to flood over the spidery words and her own exhaustion, but she needs to do this.
"What you doing, lass?"
Coco yelps, slams the book shut, as Master Olruggio leans down to study the cover, two steaming mugs in his hands.
"You want Beatu, not that shi—" He catches himself. "Book. Tag along, I'll grab it."
