Work Text:
Jeongyo wonders if Pio notices.
He wonders if, even when he was spouting the vilest, most hurtful words towards his... towards Pio, Pio could notice the way Jeongyo’s eyes wavered.
He wonders if he notices that Jeongyo hadn’t stopped acting, and just started playing a much more difficult role.
He wonders if Pio could see the other Jeongyo trapped inside, begging outside Jeongyo to stop.
He imagines how it’ll all be over when Pio would inevitably notice that Jeongyo loves him.
How his revenge, his hate towards the man who brought him over to the light, would all be for nothing, because Jeongyo wasn’t sure if he still had the heart to go on when that happens.
It should happen. It should happen, right?
Why did Pio do that? Why?
He thinks it doesn’t matter anymore. He looks at Pio’s bloodied fingers, and thinks this is all an elaborate prank from the devil. Pio couldn’t have. Could he?
Jeongyo wonders again, as he screams at Pio, if Pio could see that he had failed, that his eyes are devoid of revenge.
Maybe he doesn’t want that.
But he does.
