Work Text:

"Just tell me, is she okay?" He cries out to the man across the room from him, begging for any sort of indication on if Lucy's okay, or if she's even alive. He remembers them both getting drugged, but he can only hope they took him and left her to be found.

"Don't you worry about that pretty little lady of yours. She has nothing to worry about." That man should be thanking his lucky stars that Tim is tied up, or he'd have already smacked that smug smirk right off of his face.

"C'mon man," he groans, "I don't even care what you do to me, I just need to know if she's okay."

The man takes a few steps closer, stopping when he's within arms reach. "You don't deserve to know. You made your choice, now Everett and all of us are making ours."

"Yeah, you sure are. I hope you're prepared to spend the rest of your life rotting in prison," Tim spits back, already bracing for whatever is coming next.

"What did you just say?" The man's voice grows louder as he steps even closer. Tim is stuck, it's not like he can step back, he can't even defend himself. The only thing he can do is take it.

Time is sure doing a funny thing. His body aches in ways and places he didn't know it ever could. He knows he has blood all over, some wounds covered in dried blood and dirt while the newer wounds are still bleeding fresh. His face hurts and the tears he cries when he's left alone only make the sting worse.

He's angry. He's angry thinking about the fact that he and Lucy didn't get to rush home afterwards and call all of their friends and family to give them the good news. He's angry that they didn't get to celebrate and fall into bed together. He's angry that Lucy didn't get to wake up the next morning and immediately look at her ring and smile because it really happened.

Some of its anger towards himself. He should've been more aware, he should've known Everett would've acted on his threat, and more importantly that he'd go after not only Tim but the person most important to him.

He cries for Lucy when he's left alone in the room. It makes him sick, so much so that he actually has gotten sick a couple of times thinking about how anxious and scared she must be, wherever she is. He'd do anything to be able to hold her or even just to be able to tell her that it's going to be okay, even if he's not sure he can believe it himself at the moment.

Being chained up, he is uncomfortable all of the time but after a while, he does start to get a little tired. He started to doze off, his head hanging to the side when he heard footsteps and a slam that startles him awake. He looks up to see the same man with yet another smirk on his face as he approaches.

"Your little fiancée isn't doing too good. My pal keeps telling me all she does is cry. It's too bad you couldn't just let Everett go, and you two would never be in this situation."

Tim musters up every last bit of strength he has left, which isn't much and tries to kick the man. But unlucky for him, he's faster and the impact jolts him backwards.

"Fuck you." Is all Tim can manage to say before everything goes black.

His attitude changes after that. Perhaps it's the concussion talking, or maybe just the stubborn man he is, but he knows he's not making it out of here alive thinking the way he has been.

He finds himself smiling for the first time since the proposal when the image of Lucy walking down the aisle on their wedding day flashes through his mind. He's never been a crier but knows he's most definitely going to bawl when he sees Lucy, the love of his life and his whole world walking towards him to start their forever.

He's had the perfect song for them to have their first dance to for months, Always and Forever. He can only hope Lucy loves it as much as he does when he finally gets a chance to play it for her.

His smile quickly fades when he hears footsteps again. He closes his eyes, hoping that he'll get left alone but that only seems to agitate the man further.

"You're looking a little sleepy there, Sergeant. I think you need to be knocked around a little more." Tim gulps already anticipating what's to come.

His already sore, and definitely broken ribs take another hit. The pain is so intense he turns his head to his left to puke.

"Well, guess you're going to be living with your own vomit then since I'm definitely not cleaning that up." The man backs away in disgust.

The next time Tim wakes up, he hears footsteps again but he instantly notices they sound different, and there's a lot more of them. He also faintly hears yelling which spikes his anxiety.

The noises get louder and he startles when the door gets busted in. Officers come swarming in, Angela and Aaron leading the way.

As others work to unchain him, the look on both Angela and Aaron's face once they take him in scares him a little, especially seeing Angela like that.

"Are you okay?" She manages to ask, very out of breath.

"No." He has no energy to lie right now. The only response he gets is a nod of understanding before paramedics rush in around him.

Once he's started to get worked on, he looks up at Angela again who hasn't left his side even once. The look on her face tells him she's already anticipating exactly what he's going to ask and she's trying to figure out how to tell him.

"Is Lucy okay?"

She sighs and grabs ahold of his hand, squeezing it tight. "We haven't found her yet…" Tim's face falls, "but, right before we landed to get you, we did get word on a possible location."

"Well then, let's go."

"Not that fast. You're hurt, probably more than any of us realize, you are not going anywhere other then to the hospital."

"Angela…" he starts to raise his voice and it startles the poor paramedics still working on him. "I just spent god knows how many days worried and wondering about her. I don't care what's wrong with me, I'll go to the hospital after we find her."

"Sir, I don't—" he cuts them off before they can continue.

"I'm going. I don't care if I have to sign something saying I left AMA, I. Don't. Care. I am going."

"Fine," they huff, "But sir, you need to take it easy and you better get to the hospital as soon as possible. You're definitely dehydrated, you likely have multiple fractures and who knows what else."

Tim barely waits for them to unhook his iv before he's standing up from the stretcher. He shouldn't be surprised when his legs nearly give out on him but he's grateful for Aaron to help him walk as they make their way to the plane.

They make Tim wait inside of the plane in the air conditioning and every minute seems like it's hours long. After a while, he hears commotion and goes to look.

When he sees Lucy coming out, not even surprised that she's walking out herself, he doesn't even think, he just goes. He somehow musters up enough strength to get himself to her. Once she spots him, the tears start falling from both of them as they crash hard into each other.

"You're okay."

"You're okay."

They can barely hear each other, their voices muffled by the others shirt as they hold on even tighter. Their friends watch on, tears in their eyes watching and relived that they can finally breathe now that they've found them.

It takes Tim a minute to figure out where he is once he wakes up. He starts to panic when he realizes he's in a hospital but the panic quickly goes away when he sees Lucy, his Lucy in a bed just to his left.

"Luce?" He tries to say but has to clear his throat because it comes out to raspy the first time so he tries again. "Luce?"

She slowly turns her head, just a little and his heart breaks seeing how exhausted she looks. She hasn't said much at all since they found her, but he hasn't either.

"I'm sorry." He watches her brows furrow in confusion, "We wouldn't be in this mess if it weren't for me. We'd actually be celebrating our engagement the right way."

"It's not your fault." Her voice is weak but he definitely hears her. "It's not, I don't blame you at all. I'm just glad you're okay, that we're okay."

"Me too."

"We made it out alive. I love you."

"We made it out. I love you too."

With time, they're going to be okay. They have each other and together, they can get through anything.
