Re: Chaos Zero

Summary:

What would happen if Natsuki Subaru was given another chance to redue everything? The Catch? He has the Chaos Gacha to help him out this time.

Chapter 1: Nothing Certain but Death, Taxes, and Chaos: All Three Truths of Life

Chapter Text

Hello everyone, my name is Darklord331 and today we are presenting you another Chaos Gacha story! I’m here today with Light He’arth/Xarazechi.

Light/Xara: ………

(Sees that he’s nowhere) Guys? Why does this feel-? (Two portals, one of light the other Darkness)

Xara: OUT OF THE WAY! (Runs out of the Dark Portal)

Light: (Flies out of the Light one, cutting away a dark hand that was trying to grab him) Damn it! That witch is a pain in the ass!

(The portals close, the hand that tried to reach Light vanishing)

Fuck! That bitch!

Xara: Yeah… We… Tried to help Satella deal with/get rid of her… You can see how well THAT went…

Light: Her other personality did not take it well…

That witch discovered what we’re doing. Too bad Witch of Envy, this time there won’t be death, despair and suffering only Chaos. The VERY thing no one can control. Not even you.

Light/Xara: DON’T TRY AND CHALLENGE HER YOU MORRON!

WHAT HAVE I GOT TO LOSE?! EVERY PAIN AND SUFFERING SHE INFLICTED ON SUBARU, IT IS ENOUGH! If it means stopping the nightmare then I will face her.

Xara: … Uh… Well… The thing is… He still has that ability as well…

Light: We tried to remove it… But that’s how Envy noticed us.

Xara: … I know I don’t like it when he does bui is the only one to remember… But I’m hoping for something like a Share Skill ability. That way he doesn’t have to hold the burden.

Hopefully, start the disclaimer. She’s coming.

Light: we do not own Re: Zero, the characters or anything of the Chaos Gacha or the chararters/items/abilities in it. They all belong to their rightful owners.

Xara: Okay, now we just need to-

CRAK! SHSATTER!

Xara: … Reinforce the dimensional barrier…

Well, well, she’s here. We all know how this would end guys.(Takes out his weapon)

(Dark Hands come out of the crack)

Light: I don’t think she’ll listen to us.

Xara: Let’s just hope we can put her back in her locked cage soon. I did enjoy my talk with Satella. We were making a new song before this happened.

We all did, now then. CHARGE!

(The three of us roar, Xara summoning Chanter Nobodies, as we ran to the crack in reality, as hundreds of Dark Hands shot at us)

Chapter 1: Nothing Certain but Death, Taxes, and Chaos: All Three Truths of Life

Subaru’s vision blurred as cold sweat poured down his face, his heart hammering violently against his ribs like a trapped beast. Shadowy figures danced at the edges of his sight, twisted, haunting hallucinations of familiar faces watching him with judging eyes. He clutched his head in sheer agony, his fingers digging into his hair as breathless, panicked wheezes tore from his throat.

"What am I supposed to do?!" Subaru screamed out to the unforgiving world, his voice cracking and breaking under the weight of utter despair. "What CAN I do?! Every single time I try, all I do is mess everything up! And whenever I think I've fixed it, it just gets worse! I've died, over and over and over again, and for what?!"

Tears streamed freely down his pale, trembling cheeks as the crushing agony of his memories threatened to tear him apart. "Emilia... Rem... Ram... Beatrice... everyone! None of them want this! None of them asked for me to drag them into this nightmare! How am I supposed to be a hero when I'm completely, utterly worthless?!"

His knees buckled, sending him crashing onto the cold, hard ground. The unseen, suffocating pressure of the Witch's shadow coiled tightly around his throat, threatening to crush his windpipe the moment his thoughts strayed toward revealing his torment. He gasped for air that refused to enter his lungs, every nerve ending ablaze with unbearable pain.

The weight of his own perceived failures pressed down on him with crushing force, bending his spine until he could no longer keep upright. With a choked sob, Subaru collapsed entirely, hitting the cold ground hard on his hands and knees as his body shook with violent, unrestrained weeping.

"I'm... I'm so useless," he choked out, his fingers clawing desperately into the dirt. "Slothful... I'm nothing but a lazy, pathetic coward! Every time it matters, every single time someone needs me to actually be strong, what do I do? Nothing! I just sit here whining and crying while everyone else pays the price!"

Every death, every life he goes through, tries everything to prevent what could’ve been their death, cursed or even their memories erased.

"If there's a price to pay to keep them all safe," Subaru whispered, his knuckles turning white as he slammed his fist against the dirt, "then let it be my sanity, my blood, or my soul. I don't care what it takes from me anymore—as long as they get to live to see tomorrow."

“What if I told you that you can pay that price?”

Subaru's eyes widened as he looked up to see a dark being with dark/purple robes over itself and his hood shrouded in darkness. Despite not feeling anything from the person Subaru can feel the raw power from just by standing there. He’s more powerful…………………….. even he could take a guess more powerful than Reinhard.

“Who………. Who are you?”

“A being that has taken blight of your actions.” The dark being spoke to Subaru. “I am known by many things, Darkness, Abyss, Void but you may refer me as Dark.” The being Dark spoke to Subaru. “And I have an offer for you.”

“This…. Feels like a deal with the devil,” Subaru said, uneasy by this. He wasn’t sure if this guy could be truthful in his claims.

Dark gave a calm expression. “Maybe but I’ve known what you went through.”

“What do you mea-”

“I know about the curse that you have in you.” Dark interrupted Subaru.

Subaru widens his eyes in surprise at what Dark said to him, caughting him off guard.

“And I know……………about R̴̟̚e̵͔͠t̵̡̋u̴̙̜̒r̶̼̼̿͆n̸͙͔̒͑ ̴͕̩̔b̶͕̒ͅy̴̞͂ ̶̢́D̷̮͋e̶̺̼̒͒a̵̝͑͜t̵̨͕͋h̵͖̓.”

WHOOSH!

Immediately dark spectral hands burst from the darkness as they were about to reach out to Subaru and Dark.

BAM!

BAM!

CCRACCK!

Suddenly they were stopped as purple aura surrounded the hands and sucked into it while one was gripped by Dark himself.

“Do you really believe this could stop me, Witch? You are under the presence of an Elder God.” Dark spoke while his red eyes glinted through darkness while crushing the dark hand as it convulsed and twisted around, crack spreading around the hand. “All Darkness, Void and Abyss bends under my will.”

CCCRRACCCKKK!

Before shattering the dark hands as they burst like glass.

Subaru gasped, stumbling back in complete shock at what he had just witnessed. His chest heaved as he stared at Dark with wide, disbelieving eyes. He braced himself, waiting for the familiar, agonizing grip of the Witch's shadow to crush his heart for hearing those cursed words, but nothing happened.

"Return... by Death?" Subaru whispered, his voice trembling as he tested the phrase once more, half-expecting the suffocating darkness to drag him under.

Silence. The air remained still, free from the Witch's suffocating grasp.

"Return by Death... Return by Death!" he repeated, his voice rising from a broken whisper to a desperate cry. Tears welled up in his eyes and streamed down his face, spilling over as the overwhelming realization set in. For the first time, the crushing weight of the secret he had carried alone was lifted, releasing all the buried pain, terror, and loneliness he had suffered in silence.

“You have suffered enough.” Dark said to Subaru in soft tone, offering him a hand. “All the guilt, pain and death you had to through, I admire your Will. I respect you Subaru.” He said to Subaru as Subaru got up to his feet.

“Its…………its gone?” he asked while not feeling the familiar pain he had when he had to Return By Death.

“Not for long.” Dark said to Subaru. “The Witch will not like this, it won’t long until it comes back.” He said to Subaru. “Now, are you willing to listen to what I have to offer you?”

Subaru wiped his eyes, his breathing slowly steadying as he stared at the shrouded figure before him. "What kind of offer? If you're an Elder God... why would someone like you even care about a worthless, weak guy like me?"

"Because weakness is merely a starting point, Subaru Natsuki," Dark answered, his deep voice resonating with ancient power. "You have endured horrors that would shatter the minds of kings and heroes, yet you still reach out to protect those you love. That resolve is rare."

Dark extended his hand, a faint violet sphere of chaotic energy swirling gently above his palm. "My offer is simple: I shall grant you access to the Chaos Gacha, a nexus of power containing abilities, artifacts, and allies from across countless realities. With it, you will no longer be forced to rely solely on your own blood and death to forge a path forward."

Subaru gasped, staring at the swirling energy. "Realities...? You're talking about giving me the power to actually fight back? To protect Emilia and everyone without having to die first?"

"Indeed," Dark replied, his red eyes gleaming. "Chaos is unpredictable, yes, but it is a force that not even the Witch of Envy can bind. Take my hand, accept the Chaos Gacha, and rewrite the tragic script imposed upon your life."

“..........Why, why are you doing this?” Subaru asked Dark with some hesitation.

“You can trust my allies," a new voice said, as a beam of light appeared in front of them. When the light disapted, there stood an actual angel. He wore all white fighter clothes and his body was also white as well, from his skiing to his hair. The only thing of color was a red bandana around his eyes. “We have seen your strength of character. To quote a line, “A True Hero isn’t measured by the size of his Strength, but by the Strength of his heart”. And kid, you have that in spades”
“We have been watching you for a very long time, the moment you got into the world.” Dark said to Subaru

Subaru pulled his hand back, staring down at his trembling palms. The offer sounded like an impossible dream, a cruel joke spun by another higher power. "You're... You're mistaken," he stammered, his voice choked with self-loathing. "I'm not strong. I'm not a hero. I'm just a weak, foolish kid who got transported here and failed at every turn. I can't even protect the people I care about without dying like trash over and over again!"

He gripped his coat tightly, tears spilling over his cheeks once more. "How can you put your faith in someone who hates himself this much? Someone who's broken inside?"

"Because a broken blade can be forged anew, Subaru," Dark said gently, stepping forward as the shadow beneath his hood softened. "It is not strength of magic or muscle that defines a true hero; it is the willingness to stand up after being broken a thousand times. You have suffered horrors that would break gods, yet your heart still beats with the desire to save others. For that resilience, and for that unyielding will, you have my absolute respect."

“Yes, and you think your actions might not mean anything, but you have actually inspired people. You are a leader, not for power, but for willingly putting your own self on the line to fight even though the odds are against you more often than not.”

“Yep,” came a third person, who appeared out of thin air. He wore a black trench coat, with the hood up hiding his face, black gloves, pants and boots. “Those are the kind of tales bards and musicians write songs about.”

Subaru stood frozen, staring back and forth between the three enigmatic beings before him. His breath hitched in his throat as the reality of their words washed over him. Every instinct honed by countless horrific deaths screamed at him to be cautious, reminding him that nothing in this world ever came without a cruel, hidden price.

"A price..." Subaru choked out, his fingers trembling violently as he reached toward Dark's outstretched hand, only to pull back at the last second. He swallowed hard, his voice trembling with hesitation. "What's the catch? What do you gain from giving a power like this to someone like me? I've made deals, relied on others, and every single time, someone ends up paying the tab in blood."

He looked down at his palms, the phantom sensation of the Witch's suffocating shadow still lingering at the back of his mind like a persistent nightmare. "If I accept this... if I take this Chaos Gacha... am I just becoming another puppet on a different string? Am I trading one torment for another?"

Dark's red eyes glinted with understanding, showing no impatience toward the boy's skepticism. "Your doubt is justified, Subaru. But unlike the Witch, we seek no control over your fate. The path you carve with this power will be entirely your own."

Subaru took a deep, shuddering breath, closing his eyes tightly as he weighed the sheer horror of his past deaths against the faint, shimmering hope standing right before him. With a final, decisive nod. “Ok, I accept but before I do, what's the price? What you're giving me always has a price.”

“You are correct, what we are giving you is a powerful chaotic power. The only price you need to pay……… is your memories.” Dark said to Subaru, pointing at him,

“My memories?”

“Correct, you see the moment you accept the Chaos Gacha we will send you back in time, the moment you were brought here.” Dark explained to Subaru. “You will forget everything, the future and the resets. Starting from Zero.”

“But… What if I mess up everything without my memories?” Subaru asked, worried.

“We know you’ll be able to utilize the gift to its fullest,” Light stated. “You just need to believe in yourself.”

“............. If I do this, can I be certain I’ll be able to save everyone?”

“The power of the Chaos Gacha is infinite and chaotic but that is what you need to survive. And it will also be your greatest weapon, power, ability and trait. You will save everyone, even Emilia.” Dark said to Subaru.

“Heck, you might even make that red haired blessed swordsman actually feel like he might have a friend/brother in arms," Xara stated. “Ther dude really needs actual friends and a rival that can push him.”

“..............Thank you guys, I really appreciate it.”

“Indeed, but also be warned.” Dark spoke to Subaru. “Once you have the Chaos Gacha, its name also has its meaning, the moment you have the Chaos Gacha, the Chaos effect will take effect. It is random for either Good or Bad, what could benefit you or what evils await as Chaos is neither Good or Bad.” Dark warned Subaru.

“... Well my life was already chaotic, what a bit more,” Subaru stated.

“Then good luck.”

BAM!

Subaru was suddenly pushed into a black portal that opened behind him as Subaru fell into the portal before disappearing.

BOOM!

“He was never yours to begin with, Witch.” Dark spoke in an ominous tone while darkness gathered around his hand before a large dark/purple halberd appeared.

“Yes, you are only a manifestation of a poor girl’s grief and anger, your ‘love’ only hurts him in the long run,” Light stated, summoning his sword, with light forming around him.

“Honestly, you fell more like a Heartless or Nobody, maybe even a Unversed, where all you are is her darkside,” Xara stated, summoning his weapons.

Hundreds of Dark hands burst from the ground, air and around them and it all lunged towards them.

“Well… Here we go again…”

(Somewhere)

“Wake up Subaru……………………wake up…………………wake up………………Get up Subaru. It's time to wake up.”

Subaru gasped as he shot off the ground and panted, looking around and seeing he was in the alley.

“Huh? What the?” he said while in shock, getting up immediately. “What the hell? Wasn’t I coming back from a convenience store?” he said while confused.

He slowly got up and walked out of the alleyway, holding his head like he was holding off a headache. “I guess I stayed up way too late playing gamers if I don’t remember… where… I… am…” He stopped when he saw… he wasn’t in Japan anymore. In fact… he thinks he wasn’t in his REALITY anymore.

Everywhere he saw……..had anthro beings around him, like fantasy creature races, lizards, wolfmen, and other races as he gasp.

Just before he could even say anything,

[Ding! Congratulations Host! You have been selected and chosen to wield the most powerful system in the entire omniverse. The Chaos Gacha!]

“Woah!” Subaru gasped as he saw a screen in front of him with wide eyes. “Is this, this is real?!” He exclaimed. “Did I get a super cool Isekai power~!?”

[Yesn’t?]

Subaru looked at the notification in puzzlement. “Yesn’t? What the heck does that mean?”

[I’m ONE of the powers you have, pur say, Host. But I cannot tell you the other power, that is to be seen later.]

“... Okay…? So… What are you then, besides being called the Chaos Gacha?”

[That is up to the host but let the system warn you. Whatever you do, do not mention what you have or else the curse will take effect, harming the host more than others]

“Wait what?! You mean I have a curse?!” Subaru shouted in surprise and fear. “Wh-What type is it?”

[I cannot say but the host will learn later on but with this system with you, you won’t experience so much pain and torture]

“Oh god, please tell me I’m not in Berserk world.” Subaru paled while frightened. He read the manga of Berserk which was one of his favorite series, though if he’s in Berserk then he’s fucked, big time.

[No]

“Oh thank god.”

[Let's not linger that thought, for now allow me to explain what this system's function is.  The Chaos Gacha is a Gacha powers, similar to the host plays but instead of paying funds, if host must earn a roll, they must accomplish an Achievements]

“So, like tasks in an RPG?” Subaru asked.

[In a sense. When you do, you will earn a Gem. What you achieve correlates to how high the task was. Gems are ranked from Bronze to Divine, and six categories that are selected. Abilities, Items, Traits, Skills, Familiars and Random.]

“Hmmmmm, interesting.” Subaru muttered while looking at the screen. “So let me get this straight, if I accomplish something of a task that marks as achievements I get a gem?”

[Which in turn, you can use to gain new abilities, skills, powers and familiars. Note, sense this is a Gacha, it will be random.]

“Yeah fair.” Subaru said while nodding.

[Host has been given gifts by the admins/creators of the Chaos Gacha. Please accept them]

[Ding! You have been gifted by the Eternal Darkness with One Diamond Familiar Gem!]

[Ding! You have been gifted by the Everlasting Light with One Diamond Ability Gem!]

[Ding! You have been gifted by the Song of Nothing with One Diamond Skill Gem!]

[Achievement Unlocked! Get Isekai’d into a new world! +1 Legendary Trait Gem!]

“Holy-! Four powerful roles from the start!?” Subaru asked. He then clenched his fist, as tears of happiness and manliness ran down his eyes. “I got a cheat power like in most Isekais~!” He exclaimed. “How do I use them?”

[Simply bring the gem out and crush it. It can be by hand, stepping on it, or throwing it to the ground. Up to you.]

“... Huh, If I need to use one as a weapon to hit a foe… and get a power in the process… That could be useful…” Subaru muttered to himself. Taking out one of the Gems which was literally a diamond on his hand the size of his hand. “Holy, if I was back at home, I would’ve sold one and gotten stinking rich.” He said while in awe.

[Sadly, you cannot sell these since only you can hold them and use them.]

“Darn, oh well, lets see what I’d get.” he said while crushing the gem which didn’t felt hard as it exploded to pieces.

Name: Lilithmon

Rarity: Elite (4.7)

Description:

Digimon - Lilithmon was once revered as a Goddess of Darkness, but is now reduced to level 1. She has considerable physical ability paired with her skill in darkness magic. She is capable of unleashing potent corroding darkness and using charming magic to charm targets. To recover and increase her power, she can devour the mana of fresh corpses.]

“Wait, I actually summoned a Digi-?” Subaru asked, before a dark spell circle appeared in front of him, and a beautiful feminine demon Digimon based on the mythological Lilith appeared from it. Her appearance is a cross between a demonic priestess and a feudal Japanese courtesan, wearing long, purple robes over a latex catsuit. She has the Mark of Evil on its forehead and is one of the few humanoid Digimon with its upper face uncovered. Her hair is black like the demonic bat-like wings protruding from her back, her eyes are blue and her skin is rather pale, similar to a vampire. She wears an inscribed golden gauntlet named "Nazar Nail" over her right arm. The ribbons off of its dress are razor-sharp. She wears purple eye shadow, lipstick and nail polish as makeup.

Lilithmon

“Well, well, well, what do we have here? A mortal summoning a digimon Goddess of Darkness?” Lilithmon spoke with her finger close to her mouth. “Hmph, be grateful mortal. You are under the presence of an almighty Goddess.” She said while looking at Subaru and immediately gained an interest. “Oh? What's this?” she said while getting close to him. “My my, you have an abundance of darkness within you, but unlike I have ever seen before. A curse deep inside of your soul. How interesting.”

Subaru sweated and shook under her presence. He knows who Lilithmon is as she was one of the most dangerous Digimon there is. Hell even in her description she can literally kill anyone who becomes seduced under her charms. “Uhhhhh, are you………….. are you not gonna kill me?” he asked her bluntly. “Cause I really don’t want to die from the first familiar I summoned.”

“Kill you? Oh my dear boy, why would I?” She said to Subaru. “I have no desire to kill those who catch my attention, yours though. The Darkness and curse in you. It feels………….. different.” She said to him before placing her hand over his chest.

“Hey what are you-?” Subaru was caught off guard what she was doing.

WHOOSH!

“AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!” He suddenly screams when he feels something inside of him twisting.

Dark spectral hands suddenly appeared from the shadows, bursting forth as Subaru looked on in complete surprise. The shadowy hands lunged aggressively toward both him and Lilithmon, but with a flick of her wrist and a dismissive scoff, Lilithmon simply dispelled them away into nothingness.

“What…….. What the hell was that?!” Subaru panted while looking surprised and taken back.

“Seems like this curse is more complex. It feels like it doesn’t want to be recognized by anyone and only you.” Lilithmon explained to Subaru. “And it gives off some sort of a scent to those who are highly affinity with magic senses.”

“Wait a minute. You mean if I told anyone about this curse………….. they’d die?” Subaru asked in shock.

“Indeed though there is more about this curse you possess, I can feel there is also something within it.” She said to Subaru.

“.......... Is there a way you can remove this and seal it away?” Subaru asked Lilithmon.

"Unfortunately not. Whatever this curse is, is complex and even if I remove it, it has become attached to your soul.” Lilithmon said to Subaru. “If you don’t want to kill yourself I suggest you don’t speak a word of this to anyone unless its me.”

“Got it! I’ll keep that in mind!” Subaru nodded his head while unaware that he has managed to avoid one of the biggest disasters and pain he would’ve gone through in the future now he knows what his curse is.

[Feat achieved! Discover one of your aspects of the curse inflicted upon you by $#@$! +1 Silver Item Gem!]

“Woah, I got an achievement from discovering one part of my curse.” he said with amazement, turning to Lilithmon. “Thanks again Lilithmon.”

“Be grateful it was me who you summoned, if it was anyone else, your curse wouldn’t have been discovered sooner.” She said to Subaru as he laughed nervously.

“Yeah, maybe if I get one of the rolls. There could be a way to seal or break this curse.” He muttered under his breath, taking out another diamond and crushed it.

“OH FUCK I GOT A LEGENDARY SWORD?!” Subaru shouted in shock.

“Not a legendary sword Master.” Lilithmon said to Subaru while reading the description. “It allows you to conjure any type of form you wish for it to appear.”

“Oh man! I already got the idea!” Subaru said while excited. “Come out SPIRIT SWORD!” he shouted while his hands blaze as light formed around into an energy projected sword.

Spirit Sword

Subaru had happy tears in his eyes. “I’ve always wanted to do that! That's one thing I can mark off my bucket list~”

“An interesting sword you choose to project master.” She said to Subaru with interest. “Not some grand sword design you wanted to manifest?”

“Eh, I did have those thoughts but this one is more fitting since it's like a purification sword and in an anime called Yu Yu Hakusho this sword is used to cut down demons and spirits which matches what it should be.” Subaru answered to Lilithmon.

“And you finally get to live a childhood dream, don’t you~?” she teased him.

“I will not deny that at all,” Subaru stated as he summoned the sword and broke the next gem.

“Ah hell yeah!” Subaru shouted in victory. “Now I won’t have to struggle or have to train my ass off for years to become a master swordsman!” he shouted while happy.

“Still need to train your body though~” Lilithmon said, popping his bubble.

“...... Dammit you got a point.” Subaru said to Lilithmon. Turning to the legendary trait toll he has left. “My last roll. I hope I get something good from this,”

“Don’t count your luck master.” Lilithmon said to her master. “It depends on what you will receive from the Legendary trait itself.” She said to Subaru

Subaru took out the legendary gem as it was Blood Orange color Diamond. “Huh… this would be worth a whole lot more back home,” Subaru muttered before crushing it.

…

…

…

“FUCK YEAH!” Subaru shouted in surprise and joy. “This isn’t what I thought I rolled but holy! This will definitely save my ass a lot!” He said while smiling, again unaware that he has avoided lots of painful futures that awaited him, which constantly made him weak and vulnerable every time.

“... Well that’s my foot in my mouth…” Lilithmon said, grumbling, surprised and sending the change in Subaru’s being.

“Hey Lilithmon, I want to try this!” He said to Lilithmon. “Can you cut my hand off?”

“Oh certainly.”

WHOOSH!

“YAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!” Subaru shouted when his hand was cut off as blood gushed out of his hand stump as he gritted his teeth. “REALLY SHOULD’VE THOUGHT AND WAITED IF I COULD’VE ROLLED HEALING POTIONS OR RECOVERY!” he shouted in pain.

Soon to his surprise and amazement his stump no longer bled anymore as instead blood that gushed out instead splashed and absorbed back into Subaru and the hand that was cut off flew to him and reattached itself to Subaru.

Subaru flexed his hand as he no longer felt any pain and it didn’t felt like the pain was there anymore.

“Fucking amazing! Now I won’t have to worry if anything gets cut off from my body or-hold on. Lilithmon, can you destroy my arm to pieces. Wait, hold on!”

“Granted~.”

BAM!

“YAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! WAIT UNTIL I SAID SOMETHING!” Subaru shouted as his entire left arm was blasted to pieces as blood, flesh, veins and bones burst to pieces as he felt his consciousness was close to fading.

However, before consciousness could fully slip away, his Majin physiology kicked in with terrifying efficiency. The scattered bits of blood, flesh, and bone scattered across the ground suddenly stopped and pulled back together. Muscle fibers knit back in rapid succession, white bone reconnected, and blood flowed back into his veins as the human flesh stitched itself seamlessly together. Within seconds, his left arm reformed completely without leaving so much as a single scar, leaving Subaru blinking in absolute disbelief.

“......Well that also takes care of another issue. I won’t have to worry about getting killed.” Subaru smiled again.

[Feat achieved! Test out your first trait Majin and discover its effects! +1 Gold Random Gem!]

“Cool! More gems!” Subaru shouted in excitement.

“Are you going to use them now?” Lilithmon asked him.

“Hmmmmm, I’ll save them for later.” Subaru said to Lilithmon, saving his rolls for later. “I think I’ll start walking around and get a lay of the city we’re in.” Subaru then looked at Lilithmon. “Though… I’m not sure if it’s a good idea for you to be walking around like that.”

“And what’s wrong with how I look…?” She asked, her tone flat and her eyes were shadowed.

“You’re very… indecent." Subaru stated, looking away as he blushed a bit. “I… Didn’t want to bring it up at the moment.”

“What is wrong with how I look?” Lilithmon asked Subaru. “How I look is how I make men succumb to their desires for me.”

“And if we’re attacked? I know you can handle yourself, even at level 1 (you taking care of this hands proves it) but they might think you're a concubine or something like that, and try to attack us for money or… you know.” He then thought about it. “... Then again, if they have spirits in this world… I could just pass you off as an eccentric dark spirit… if dark is an element here…”

“I’m fine with that option,” Lilithmon stated.

Subaru looked at her in surprise, but shrugged. “Eh, if you're fine with it, I guess it can work. I’ll just have to bluff like a pro then.”

As the two got out of the alleyway, a few people were staring at them, but headed no mind, they saw carriages being drawn by giant lizard-like creatures. “This is definitely not Japan.” Subaeru stated. “This is definitely a medieval setting fantasy world.”

Just then, they heard a kid scream. They turned to the source of the scream, and saw a kid that fell in the middle of the roar, as a carriage was coming at them.

Subaru, with his new Majin physique and his new Master Blade Weapon Mastery ability for movement, quickly ran through the street, and grabbed the kid.

[Feat achieved! Save a kid from an oncoming waggon before a knight does! +1 Bronze Skill Gem!]

“You okay kid?” Subaru asked, smiling warmly at them.

“Y-Yes,m thank you mister,” the kid said.

“Are you two alright?” a guard asked, running up to them.

“We’re fine, thank you though,” Subaru thanked him. He handed the kid over to the guard. “Sorry to ask this, buuut can you take them? I’m new around here, so I don’t know my way around, so I’m afraid I’d get lost if I tried to find their parents.”

“It is no issue, young man,” the guard said, taking the kid. “I will help them in any way I can.”

Subaru smiled at them. “Thanks.”

“May Oda Laguna shine upon you.” the guard said before leaving with the child.

Subaru rubbed his chin and tried to think on where he could go. “The people here speak in Japanese yet this world feels……….. different. Where should I go next?”

“Perhaps you could try and find an organization to join, master.” Lilithmon suggested. “I can help you enter one of them if you want my help.”

“First off, who would want to just randomly join an organization when I barely know what this world is. And two, I need to know where the hell I am,” Subaru said to Lilithmon. They made it to a fruit vendor, and looked at the signs. “And thirdly… I cannot read the written language…”

“Hey you, want some Appa’s?” The vendor spoke to Subaru, holding what seems to be an apple. “They cost only two bronze dragons.”

“Uhhhh, no thanks.” Subaru waved his hand off to the vendor. “I think I’m good. And I’m not sure my money works here… I think.”

“Then don’t waste my time you freeloader!” he shouted at him… only for Lilithmon to glare at him coldly.

“Careful, peasant, that is my master you speak to,” she stated. “You wouldn’t want to anger a Spirit now, would you?”

The man turned pale. “Please forgive me for my rudeness.”

“Hey Lilithmon! Be nice!” He scolded her. “I don’t want you scaring off people around here!”

“They insulted you master, how do I not take offense to this?”

“That doesn’t mean you make them feel terrified! What would people think if they heard about a scary spirit like you scaring other people? Even the knights here would come after my ass!”

Lilithmon pouted. “Fine… But I’m watching him…” She stated, giving the seller a stern look.

Subaru let out a sigh as they continued on. “Well, I’m just going to have to go old fashioned and do as much information gathering as I can,” he stated, as they stopped at what looked like a restroom stop. “Oh, I could use a place to was-” He was stopped by Lilithmon from going into the room he was going to. “Huh? Lilithmon?” He was confused by her stopping him.

“That is the woman’s side,” she stated, pointing to a symbol that was like the ones from back home for men and women restrooms.

“... Thank you Lilithmon for stopping me in time,” Subaru said, turning to the right. “That’s one trope I do not wish to go through…” he said, thinking of the’ misunderstanding and getting slapped’. After going and washing up, they went to a bar area full of demi-humans, one of the lizard men saw the two and stated, “This place is for Demi-Humans only!”

“We are Demi-Humans,” Lilithmon stated, flapping her wings.

“Yes,” Subaru stated, as he pulled his arm to scratch it and mold it like clay.

“Huh? What the? What kind of a demi-humans are you?” The lizard man spoke while shocked.

“I’m just a different kind.” Subaru said to the Lizard men. “So can we enter or not?”

“... I guess you two are demi-humans… So I guess you can, but how old are you both?” the lizard man asked.

“Uh… 17,” Subaru answered.

“You know it’s rude to as a lady her age,” Lilithmon stated.

“Then you’re going to have to leave then, you need to be 21,” he stated.

“Ah man, oh well. I was just gonna ask where I was.” Subaru said to the Demi-Humans. “I'm kinda lost around here in this…….kingdom as I just got here.”

“Master can be a bit of a clueless fool at times when he’s distracted, had to save him from going into the wrong restroom~” Lilitmon stated, teasing Subaru.

“HEY!” he shouted, blushing.

“Huh, you're lost? Well then come on in.”

“Hey are you serious?”

“What? It's not that he's gonna do anything irresponsible. Let him in.”

Subaru smiled at them. “Thanks. I just want a bit of information then we’ll be on our way.”

“Just make it quick, I still got work to do, kid.”

“Alright, so uhhhh, where am I exactly?”

“As in the bar or?”

“The kingdom.”

“The royal capital of Lugunica,” the lizardman stated, giving him a confused look. “Ya never heard of it? Where have you been living, under a rock?”

“Well you could say my home is very………….. remote.” Subaru answered while internally sweating. “So………….. we don’t know much about the land.”

“What? You live at the edge of the world or something?” he asked him. “Everyone knows about the whole kingdom.”

“Didn’t you hear what he said? His village is remote.” One of the demi-human spoke to the bartender. “So it's not his fault he doesn’t know much about kingdoms.”

“Yeah, and whatever Demi-Human race he is must be rare and few,” another stated. “With his abilities, they’d be sought after, be it good or bad.”

“Not to mention what kind of abilities his race can do,” a third chimed in.

“Alright, alright, I get it,” the bar keeper lizardman stated, grumbling. “Geez, give me a hard time, why don’t ya.” He turned his attention back to Subaru. “So what else do you want to know?”

“Uhhhh, what's the state of the kingdom? If you don’t mind me asking.”

“Oh you're in for something.” the bartender said to Subaru. “Currently the kingdom is facing a bit of a dilemma. Since you don’t know much and been remote, there are four candidates currently aiming to become ruler of the kingdom.”

“Wait what? It's not a monarchy?” Subaru asked in confusion.

“The royal family are all dead. The last one died last year.”

“What?! The whole royal family is dead?” Subaru exclaimed in shock and was taken aback. “How……. How did they all die?”

“No one knows, it's said to have come from a mysterious disease that called all of the royal family.”

“Well that’s not concerning in the slightest…” Subartu sarcastically stated in a deadpan manner.

“Hey, all we know is what we were told,” he stated, shrugging.

“Be careful around, I heard that they're looking for a fifth candidate for the throne.” The bartender said to Subaru. “The strongest knight Reinhard has been charged into looking for the fifth candidate so be wary of him.” He said to Subaru.

Subaru blinked. “Why should I be wary? He’s just doing his job, right?”

“............... Lad……………….  Trust me when I say this.” The lizardman said to Subaru. “Demi-humans to demi-humans, Reinhard is absolutely a monster. Reinhard is so powerful he could literally destroy an entire kingdom in one slash.”

“Wait what?!”

“That’s just the sword he was given, he has who know how many Divine Blessings it’s not even funny.”

“I heard he also has the powers of all elements as well!” another shouted.

“I heard he has Spirits that are willing to make a contract with him just by his presence alone,” a third stated.

Subaru sweated while hearing the reputation of Reinhard, it seems like this guy is like one of those superbosses in the other games.

“Master, do remember that you can also gain that level of power through deeds you do,” Lilithmon stated, getting everyone's attention.

“Did you have to say that outloud…!?” Subaru harshly asked though his teeth. He saw the devilish smile on her face.

“What, I only speak the truth, my lord~”

“A sharp tongue of a woman is she?” The lizardmen said to Subaru.

“But I do speak the truth, my master acquired the ability to create a sword of light, and swordsman mastery closest to a sword saint~” She said, making everyone turn to look at Subaru, slackjawed. Subaru gave her a flat look.

There was silence for a second, before the taven burst out laughing. “Yeah right~! Next you’ll tell us he’s some sort of new hero in the making~!”

“Yeah, but it would be col to see if he was though,” another stated, still laughing. “Two Sword Saints, one human, one Demi-Human, I’d love to see that match up~!”

“Like that’s ever gonna happen!” a third shouted.

Lilithmon had a strained smile, her eye twitching. These fools do not believe her words. She was about to shout, but was stopped by Subaru covering her mouth, as he laughed nervously himself. “Ahahaha, yes, she’s a rigout~ If you’ll excuse me, I need to talk to my partner outside.”

Subaru then hurriedly rushed out and took them to another alleyway. He wheeled around to look at her, and shouted, “What were you thinking!?”

Lilithmon looked at him. “What? I thought you wanted to be seen as a hero.”

“Yeah but not like that! If there’s one thing I learned while reading so many novels, manga’s and anime is that you don’t flaunt off your power or else you’ll have a bigger target that might kill us both!” Subaru said to Lilithmon. “So can you please not try to get us both in trouble?”

“Fine, whatever you say maste-”

“HEY YOU THREE!” They heard someone shouting out to them.

“.........You were saying master?” Lilithmon asked Subaru with a Cheshire grin.

“.............. Nevermind.” He said in deadpanned tone and groaned. “... Wait, three? There’s only two of us.”

“If you don’t want to get stabbed, you better hand over what you have and the lady too!” The thug shouted to Subaru.

“You’ll be minced meat when we deal with you!”

“Master.” Lilithmon called out to Subaru. “Shall I deal with them? Their mere presence is an insult and their words makes me feel foul just by being near them.”

“WHAT DID YOU SAY BITCH?!

“Naaaahhhh let me handle this.” Subaru said while rolling his shoulder. “I’ve always wanted to test out my powers, oh man. This is so much cooler and my first fight. This is more awesome in real life.” He said before turning to the three thugs. “If you want to get beaten up, I suggest you leave.”

“Oh? There’s only three of us and one of you!”

“Trust me.” Subaru said while cracking his knuckles. “That should be more than enough.”

“Out of the way!” came a female voice as they turned to see a short girl with fair skin and medium-length golden hair with a black bow. She has red eyes and wears a sleeveless black top, red scarf with a golden patch on it, black pants that are incomplete on the left side, and a red ribbon on her left ankle. She also wears a vest, gloves, brown shoes, and has a belt with a sheath where her knife is. She was running like she was being chased by someone.

“... Uh… What’s with her?” Subaru asked them. “Is she with you?”

“What the heck did you get into this time, Felt?” one of the muggers asked her.

“No time to explain! I gotta go!” Felt said before attempting to run. She was not expecting to be picked up by the collar of her outfit like a cat by Lilithmon.

“Oh, why are you running, little thief?”

“Hey what the hell lady?! Let me go!” Felt attempted to get out of her grip.

“Oi! Let her go!”

The big thug went to punch Lilithmon… but was blindsided by a punch that stretched out like rubber from Subaru, who brought it back in place. “... I’ve always wanted to do a Gum Gum Pistol,” he said, a bit giddy.

“What the hell!?” the others shouted in shock after seeing that.

Before the thugs could even react, Subaru extended his hand outward. In a flash of blinding illumination, a dazzling blade of pure golden light materialized seamlessly in his grip, burning with purifying aura.

"Whoa..." Subaru murmured, looking down at his hand in awe as he effortlessly spun the energy weapon through the air. "I've literally never held or used a sword in my entire life... but this feels completely natural to me! It's like my hands just know what to do on their own!"

The lead thug lunged forward with his blade, but Subaru moved with fluid, legendary grace. In a single swift motion, he parried the strike with the flat of his spirit sword, sending the thug's weapon flying into the air, before delivering a sharp, precise strike with the pommel straight to the man's chest.

Without missing a beat, Subaru ducked beneath a wild swing from the second thug, his body pivoting smoothly as his master swordsmanship guided his every step. He swept the second thug's legs out from under him and disarmed the third with a dazzling arc of light before any of them could comprehend what had happened.

Within seconds, all three thugs were groaning on the ground, disarmed and utterly defeated, while Subaru casually dispersed the light blade back into thin air.

“HOLY SHIT THAT WAS AMAZING!” Subaru couldn’t keep his excitement down and looked at his hands with stars on them. “I just beat three thugs on my own with my special ability!” Looking up at the sky with manly tears streaming down on his face. “Thank you admins for giving me the chaos gacha! I swear what reasons you gave them to me, I will not disappoint your expectations!”

Felt looked at Subaru while completely confused and weirded out with a question mark above her head. “Uhhhh, who is he talking too? Is he mentally nuts?”

“Watch your tone girl. Disrespect my master and you’ll see how fast your head will fly off.” Lilithmon threatened Felt.

“Bring it on, old lady!”

“Old lady?” Lilithmon had a tick mark on her forehead. “Who are you calling old lady brat?”

“You, you brothel mistress!”

“Hey! Hey! Hey! Let's not fight each other!” Subaru shouted while getting between them.

“Shut it you freak!” Felt shouted at him. “What kind or being can do those things you did!?”

“It’s just my Race abilities,” Subaru stated.

“Stop right there!” They soon heard a female voice speaking out.

“Ahhh crap! Now look what you did!” Felt groaned out before they all turned to see a girl standing there.

Subaru’s breath caught when he saw her. She was a beautiful half-elf with long silver hair, purple-blue eyes, and pointed ears. She wears a white and purple outfit along with a white flower in her hair. Although she appears to be in her late teens.

“... Gorgeous…” he breathed out.

“Eh!?” The girl looked lost when she heard that.

“Well, well, master, you’re quite the charmer, aren’t you?” Lilithmon teased Subaru.

“Huh? WAIT! WAIT! Forget what I just said!” Subaru waved his hands around.

“Seems someone is smitten with you,” a voice said, coming from around the elf as the jewel around her neck as a small cat-like creature appeared, stands at nine centimeters tall and is small enough to fit in the palm of a person's hand. Aside from his diminutive stature and the fact that he usually stands on his hindlegs, he is fairly physically reminiscent of a common house cat, specifically an American Shorthair. The light grey and white fur that coats his entire body is well-groomed and very soft. His eyes are Bright Aqua blue, and his pink nose is another trait that separates him from a house cat. His tail is abnormally long to the point that it is the length of his body, and his ears are floppy yet extremely soft to the touch. On his left ear, he wears a single golden hoop earring that makes his ear droop down.

“Oh, are you a spirit as well?” Lilithmon asked the cat.

"That I am! I'm Puck, a Great Spirit of the Atmosphere," the tiny cat replied warmly, floating gently down to hover right at eye level with them. "It's nice to meet you both!"

While Puck greeted them, Emilia's gaze shifted past Subaru and landed directly on Felt. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she spotted the gleaming jewel-encrusted insignia clutched tightly in the young thief's hand. "Wait... that insignia! You're the one who stole it!" Emilia declared, stepping forward with a mix of urgency and quiet determination.

"Tch! Caught!" Felt yelped, instantly pivoting on her heel to sprint deeper into the alleyway.

Before she could take more than three strides, Lilithmon lazily flicked her wrist. A cascade of sharp, dark purple dress ribbons whipped forward like living shadows, crisscrossing in mid-air right in front of Felt and completely blocking her escape route. "Not so fast, little rat," Lilithmon purred with a mischievous smirk.

Felt skidded to a halt, glaring back at the demon Digimon in frustration. Emilia caught up, her expression softening as she looked at the young girl. "Please... return the insignia to me," Emilia requested gently, her voice calm and devoid of anger. "It is extremely important to me, and I really cannot afford to lose it.”

“Tch, why should I?”

“Because you’ll get in lots of trouble.” Puck said to Felt. “You realized you just stole a valuable dragon crest insignia. You're lucky the knights didn’t come after you.”

“Wait what? Dragon Insignia?” Felt stopped what Emilia just said and looked in shock. Looking at the crest and paled when she realized what she’d stolen. “Aaaahhhh crap! You mean I’ve stolen a dragon crest?!”

“Wait, you didn't realize it?” Subaru asked, not knowing what a Dragon Insignia was, but it sounded important. “What? You just took the job for some coin and didn’t hear all the details?”

“... I needed the coin… okay? I can't be too picky in the slums." Felt said, huffing and crossing her arms.

“Can you hand it over back please?” she said to Felt.

“Sure, here you can have i-”

“Wait!” Subaru stopped them.

“Huh, what's the matter?” The girl asked Subaru.

“Just a quick question, did this person ever explain why they hired you for stealing a valuable item?” Subaru asked Felt.

“Just that I had to and meet them this afternoon,” she stated.

“So they just paid you and you didn’t ask?” Subaru again asked Felt.

“Again, I can’t be picky in my choices of work in the slums…” she stated flatly.

“Has it occurred to you that if you managed to steal the crest, not only would you get hunted down but also they might’ve expected you to fail because…………”

“........... They wanted to get rid of me!”

“Right,” Subaru agreed. “It might be because you know something or are special in some way that you need to be taken off the board.”

“But I’m just a thief from the slums,” Felt stated. “What importance could I have?”

“Maybe lineage, you don’t know your parents, right?”

Felt gave him a deadpan. “You’re joking… right? That’s a stretch.”

“Hey, I’m just trying to help out,” Subaru stated.

“Aaahhh crap what the hell am I supposed to do? If I don’t come back with the crest I’ll be killed but if I do I get hunted down by the entire kingdom.” Felt groaned while panicking.

“Maybe we can get some help? Whoever is doing this might be a major criminal/hitman. Even with our powers, it would be tough, if not suicidal." Subaru stated.

“Like some random powerhouse is going to show up…” Felt stated flatly.

“With Master’s luck, that might just happen,” Lilithmon stated, smirking.

“I got it! What if we find Reinhard?” Subaru suggested.

“The sword saint? Good luck finding him. He might not even consider helping.” Felt stated flatly.

“Hey, you never know unless you ask,” Subaru stated, smiling optimistically. “And I heard from other fellow Demi-humans that he must be around.”

“........... Fine!” Felt groaned out in annoyance. “Lets hope this won’t get us all killed! If something happens I will cut your head off.”

“Oh please, you won’t be able to kill me.” Subaru smiled at Felt as he grabbed his head and lifted it off his body as he still smiled. “See?”

The half-elf girl widened her eyes in horror and pointed at Subaru. “Y-Y-Y-You……….. You took your head off your body?!”

“Ohhhh! Now that's an interesting Demi-human species you are.” Puck spoke while interested.

Felt simply looked at Subaru for a few seconds before falling backwards and fainted to the ground, foaming coming from her mouth.

“... Okay… Maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe I went too far…” Subaru said, looking sheepish, putting his head back on his body, fixing and fusing it back to normal. “By the way, what's your name?” He asked the half elf girl.

“Eh? You……….. You don’t know about me?”

“I’m not from here,” Subaru informed her. “I lived out in a remote area far from here. We just got here today.”

“................. Are you also gonna call me a witch?”

“What? Why would I do that?” Subaru said to the half elf girl in confusion.

“You don’t know about the Witch of Envy?”

“Is that something I’m supposed to know? Like I said I’m from a remote area.”

“Even so, even remote villages know of the tale of the Witch of Envy. She was the one to destroy half the world.”

“Wait, seriously?” Subaru asked in shock. “And why the hell would they call you a witch?”

“Cause, cause I’m a half elf and………………..that I look like her?”

“So?” Subaru asked, surprising her. “You are you, and the witch is the witch. You two are completely different people.”

“Careful there,” Puck said, eyes shaded. “That’s my daughter you’re flirting with~”

“... I’m going out on a limb and say she’s adopted.” Subaru stated bluntly. He then had a thinking pose. “… Though, the idea of her with a cat tail and whiskers would be cute.”

Her face went a new shade of red hearing that.

"Now then," Puck chimed in, floating over to gently pat Felt's forehead with his tiny paw, "we should probably wake up our little sleeping thief before she catches a cold on this alley floor."

Felt stirred with a low groan, slowly opening her eyes only to jump back as soon as she saw Subaru standing nearby. "Keep that creepy detachable head away from me!" she yelled, pointing an accusing finger at him.

"Hey! It's completely firmly attached now, see?" Subaru protested, tugging gently on his collar to prove his point. "Besides, we have bigger things to worry about than my awesome Majin physiology. We need to decide what to do about the insignia and whoever hired you."

Lilithmon crossed her arms, her golden gauntlet gleaming under the dim alley light. "If this client of yours was willing to pay for a high-value stolen item, they will likely show up at the agreed meeting spot. We could simply wait for them to walk into our trap."

"The loot house in the slums!" Felt realized, dusting off her clothes as she stood up. "That's where Old Man Rom and I were supposed to meet the buyer!"

The half-elf nodded with quiet resolve, looking toward Subaru and Lilithmon. "If it's alright with you... would you come with us? Having someone as reliable as you nearby would make me feel much safer."

Subaru grinned, striking a heroic pose that made Lilithmon chuckle softly. "Say no more! A hero never turns down a request from a beautiful lady in distress! Lead the way to the slums!"

“Alright but how are you gonna find the sword saint?” Felt asked Subaru.

Subaru hummed under his breath for a moment before snapping his fingers. “Oh yeah, I almost forgot! I wanted to try this out too!” he said, extending his hand as a mass of pink flesh separated from his body and quickly molded itself into a perfect, identical clone of Subaru.

Felt’s jaw dropped as she stared at the two Subarus standing side by side. “W-What the hell?! Now there are two of you?!”

“Pretty cool, right?” both Subarus said in unison, grinning proudly before the clone dissolved back into Subaru's main body. “I can send a clone out to search the city for Reinhard while we head straight to the loot house!”

[Feat achieved! Create your first clone from your Majin trait! +1 Gold Skill Gem!]

“Oh, before I forget for the dozenth time, may I get your name?” Subarua asked the half-elf.

“My name is…. Satella,” she answered, thinking the name would scare him off.

“... Yeah, no, that’s not your real name girl,” Lilithmon stated.

“H-How do you know that’s not my real name?” she asked, stuttering, and trying to keep her composure.

“I’m a spirit girl, I can sense that you're lying from the way you hesitate which is not common if people hesitate on their answers.”

“Yeah! That's LITERALLY the name of the witch!” Felt also added in. “Are you trying to identify yourself as the same witch who destroyed the world?”

“N-N-No! I’m not!”

“Come on! What's wrong with your real name?” Subaru asked her again.

“Emilia… My name is Emilia,” she answered, sighing. “... I wanted to test him tro see if he was still willing to be with me if I gave him THAT name.”

“I would have still stayed by your side,” Subaru stated, smiling at her.

Emilia looked at him in surprise. “Y-You really would?”

Subaru nodded. “I would, yes. Because I could never hurt a gorgeous flower like you.”

Felt pretended gag after hearing that cheesy line. “Oh gag me, you love sick fool.”

Lilithmon picked her up again. “Hush you, or are you jealous~?”

“WHO’S JEALOUS YOU WRINKLY DISGUSTING SAGGY HAG?!
“WHAT DID YOU SAY TO ME YOU SHORTSTACK HOMELESS LITHE WRENCH?!”

Subaru groans out in annoyance while Emilia sweat-drops at the two of them arguing.

(Slums)

“Alright, I’ve sent a clone out to look for Reinhard. It shouldn’t take long to find him.” Subaru informed the group while they walked through the slums.

“Can you actually see and sense through him?” Felt asked Subaru.

“Yeah… it is kinda weird, not gonna lie.”

“Still, what is a Majin anyways?” Emilia asked. “I’ve never heard of the Demi-Human race before. Then again, with your powers, I’m not surprised you’d hide yourselves from people.”

“Yeah, the Witch Cultists would do anything to get your powers,” Felt stated.

“Who are the Witch Cultists?”

“The worst scum and vicious cultist in the entire world.” Felt spoke with venom in her tone.

“... Okay, so make sure not to run into them if possible and beat them if encountered,” Subaru stated.

“They’re fanatic loonies worshipping the Witch of Envy,” Felt added, shuddering as she recalled stories heard around the slums. “They go around slaughtering entire villages, burning towns to ashes, and committing mindless atrocities just to bring about their Witch’s revival or whatever insane goal they have.”

“And nobody’s put an end to them?” Subaru asked, his brow furrowing in concern.

“If it were that easy, they’d be long gone,” Emilia said quietly, her eyes cast downward. “They operate completely in secret, led by powerful figures known as Sin Archbishops. Every time they strike, they leave nothing behind but destruction.”

Subaru crossed his arms, his expressions hardening. “Sounds like a terrorist back home.” He muttered under his breath.

“We’re here!” Felt said while stopping at a slum rundown house.

“Okay, before we head in, Emilia, does Puck have drawbacks as a Spirit?” Subaru asked her.

“Hey! I do not have drawbacks!” Puck said, sounding offended.

“Well he does get tired easily, and he’s contracted to only come out during the day,” Emilia answered.

“... It’s a good thing we came here in the mid-day then,” Lilithmon stated, looking unimpressed by the great spirit’s laziness. “Otherwise the so-called Great Spirit would be useless to us.”

“Oh yeah, what is your contract like?” Puck shot back.

“I come to Subaru’s side when he needs my power, and I grain powers from our defeated enemies,” she stated.

“... You gave him too much leeway,” Puck scoffed. “You’re just like my sister.”

Subaru pushed the two away. “You can argue who’s the better spirit later. Right now we have a probable assassin to deal with.” He then gets confirmation from his clone. “And my clone just found and met up with Reinhard.” He then blinked a few times in confusion. “… Is it normal for a sword to seem to growl at you? Or that it wants to fight you?” He asked, looking at the others.

“Wait, the Dragon Sword Reid reacted to you?” Felt asked in shock.

Subaru shrugged. “I guess. Don’t know why though.”

“......Oh fuck, I thought you were fucked up but this? I think I’m not gonna stick with you for a while.” Felt said to Subaru while in shock.

“Hey! I’m not that bad of a person…………… aren’t I?”

“You idiot! The only thing that Dragon Sword Reid reacts to is if the sword thinks you're either a threat OR! If you're strong, it deems you a worthy opponent!” Felt shouted to Subaru.

“... Well I do have a Sword Master Skill that’s close to a Saint and can make Holy Light Swords from my body,” Subaru muttered. He then thought for a second. “Actually… could I make a ring of light swords like Vergal does…? Or even Duel wield? Maybe blades for my feet to do Metal Gear combios…?”

Felt looked at Emilia. “... Do you have any idea what he’s talking about?”

“Uhhhhh, I think.” Emilia hesitated.

“Alright enough! Let's get this over with!” Felt said to the group. “.............. Though if this goes as planned, I really appreciate it for helping me and old man Rom.”

Subaru shrugged. “Hey, I just wanted to be helpful is all. … I actually feel like I’m making a difference.”

“.......You know, you're not bad what you are despite being a creepy fellow.”

“Hey, how am I creepy?”

“YOU PULLED YOUR OWN HEAD OFF! HOW THE HELL IS NOT THAT CREEPY?!” Felt shouted to Subaru while pointing at him.

“... Majin physiology?” He asked, chuckling nervously.. “I’m not as freaked out because of how my body works.”

“I-You… GAH!” Felt screamed in annoyance. “Fine, whatever. Can we just get this over with?”

Subaru bowed to her, gesturing his arm to the door. “Ladies first. They need to think you came alone after all.”

Felt stepped up to the heavy, reinforced wooden door of the loot house, taking a deep breath to compose herself before giving three distinct, rhythmically spaced knocks on the solid timber.

A tense silence settled over the quiet alley until a gruff, booming voice echoed from behind the closed door. "Who goes there? Speak your piece before I turn you into kindling."

Felt leaned closer to the keyhole and called out clear and steady: "High-class noblemen?"

The heavy sliding latch on the other side clicked and scraped back immediately as a deep voice growled back: "Stink of rat poison."

"Ah, so it's you, Felt! You had me worried when you took longer than usual," An old Man giant frame filled the doorway as he swung the door wide, his fierce expression instantly softening upon seeing her. Rom sports a bulky figure. As a giant, he stands at a towering 220 cm (7'3"), though his hunchback-like style of walking makes him look shorter. He has white strands of hair lining his eyebrows and is bald. He wears a sleeveless vest and possesses a crimson symbol across the left side of his head. His primary weapon is a massive club that he uses to smash opponents.

However, the massive giant's eyes widened dramatically as he spotted the unusual entourage standing directly behind the young thief; Subaru smiling casually, Lilithmon smirking with her arms crossed, Emilia looking slightly uneasy, and Puck floating lazily in mid-air.

"Whoa there! What's the meaning of this, Felt?!" Rom grunted, reaching instinctively for his giant wooden club resting against the counter. "Did you bring the whole neighborhood with you?!"

"Relax, Old Man Rom!" Felt held her hands up quickly to calm him down. "It's a long story, but they're... sort of with me. We've got a situation with the buyer."

“.........What the hell did you do this time?”

“Well, it's sort of like this…”

“I hope it's not bad-”

“YOU LITTLE SHIT!”

“OW! OW! OW! OW! I SAID I’M SORRY!”

“NOW YOU SCREWED UP BIG TIME!” Rom shouted while grabbing Felt's ear and pulled it while having a furious expression. “NOT ONLY DID YOU STEAL SOMETHING THAT IS VALUABLE IN THE ENTIRE KINGDOM BUT ALSO NEARLY CAUSING AN ENTIRE KNIGHTS COMING AFTER US BECAUSE YOU STOLE THE INSIGNIA!”

“BUT ROM!”

“I TOLD YOU NOT TO DO SOMETHING THAT IS TOO DANGEROUS BUT YOU WENT AHEAD AND DID IT!” Rom shouted to Felt.

“HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW!? I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A FANCY TRINKET!”

“I TOLD YOU TO STUDY WHO YOUR STEALING BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!” Rom shouted to Felt with tick marks on his head. Sighing before turning to the others. “I appreciate not reporting Felt to the knights.” He said to them, bowing slightly.

“Hey, I can tell she’s not a bad person.” Subaru said to Rom. “But also the fact someone hired her to steal the Dragon Insignia, someone is setting her up.”

“Even if she gets the insignia, I can’t help but have bad feelings about this,” Rom said while letting go of Felt’s ear as she rubs it.

“Do you have any idea why they want to target her?”

“It's ………………. I……………… I don’t know.” Rom hesitates while having a complicated expression. He might have had a hunch and idea, when his old friend gave him a child to keep her safe. He kept that promise ever since. If he told them, then Felt would have a bigger target and he does not want to make her life a living hell if they discover what Felt could be.

“Master, he’s lying.” She said to Subaru only Subaru can hear.

“Yeah I get the feeling too but if he has secrets then it's his to keep. I don’t want him to be forced to say what he’s hiding.” Subaru said to Lilithmon. If Rom had a secret he needed to keep then he wouldn't pry into it. He’s not someone who forces them to explain what secrets they have cause often it might make things more complicated. And he has the Chaos Gacha.

“Listen, just follow my lead.” Subaru said to them. “When is the client coming?”

Just then, the group felt an intense wave of malice hit them, as theory turned up in the rafters to see an unusually tall woman, as she stood around the same height as Natsuki Subaru. Her purple eyes angled down towards their edges and presented Elsa with a certain level of calmness and gentleness. Below her left eye Elsa had a beauty spot. Her long wavy hair was the same shade of black as Subaru's and was braided into a long tail on the left side of her head that reached down to her hips. A single purple flower decorated the left side of her head. She was a woman of incredible beauty who apparently oozed eroticism with every move she made. Her white skin was unusually pale to the point that it could almost be described as sickening, and her slim body was well-endowed with large breasts and sultry curves. Her bewitching beauty coupled with her well-endowed body was enough to catch the eye of most people she met.

“Well, interesting, it seems off you have guests.” The woman said to them. “Do you have what I ordered?” She asked Felt.

Emilia was about to open her mouth but Subaru stopped her, shaking his head to her. Walking to her with a hardened expression.

“So, you're the one who hired her to steal the insignia?” He asked the woman.

“Oh? Who are you?” She asked him with a smile.

“Names Subaru, Natsuki Subaru, I’m affiliated with the woman you hired to steal the insignia.” Subaru answered to the woman. “Did you not know what it was that you hired her to steal something that's important to the entire kingdom?”

“I simply hired her if she is capable of doing such a task.” The woman answered to Subaru.

“SO YOU DID KNOW WHAT I WAS STEALING!” Felt shouted to the woman. “YOU BASTARD! YOU NEARLY WOULD’VE HAD AN ENTIRE KINGDOM AFTER ME!”

“How is it my fault you accepted my offer when I told you what it was?” The woman asked Felt while still smiling. “You didn’t even bother do your homework and rather let your greed consume you,”

Rom held Felt back from attacking the woman.

“Still, it does seem like you were intentionally trying to sabotage her, if not by having her be captured by the knights, then coming here for something else, maybe even having her target come here as well to be targeted?” Subaru asked, opening one eye that seemed to glow.

“Oh, and if I was, you’d willingly walk into a trap?" She asked, never losing her smile.

“Maybe, how much did you pay her?”

“Two holy gold coin.”
“WHAT?!” Rom and Emilia shouted in unison shock.

“I told you Old man Rom!”

“Dammit Felt! I told you if someone pays a ridiculous amount you run it by me!” Rom shouted to Felt.

“The money was too good, how was I supposed to refuse?” Felt retorted to Rom.

“Damn, that must be a lot of money.” Subaru commented while whistling. “What if we can make a trade?”

“Oh? A trade you say?” The woman said to Subaru. “What could you possibly have that you can trade with me?”

“Ever heard of something called gems?” Subaru asked before pulling out a gold/yellow diamond the size of his hand.

“Oh my~” The woman spoke with interest.

“Holy shit is that a diamond?!” Felt shouted in shock.

“A Gold/Yellow Diamond,” he corrected.

“Oh my~” the woman murmured, stepping closer with a seductive yet calculating smile as her crimson eyes locked onto the glowing gold/yellow diamond gem in Subaru’s hand. “That is... quite an exquisite piece. So pure, and radiating such raw, unrefined energy. Where on earth did a boy like you acquire something so valuable?”

“Let’s just say I have my sources,” Subaru replied smoothly, keeping his posture relaxed while maintaining a watchful eye on her movements. “More importantly, this thing is worth way more than two holy gold coins. It’s more than enough to cover the insignia and spare Felt and old man Rom any trouble.”

Felt stared at the massive gem in disbelief, her jaw practically hitting the floor. “Are you out of your mind?! You’re just handing that over?!”

“Relax, I’ve got plenty more where that came from,” Subaru chuckled, tossing the gem slightly in his hand before catching it.

The woman's smile deepened, a glint of genuine bloodlust and fascination flickering in her eyes. She reached out slowly, her gloved fingers hovering just inches from the gem. “A tempting offer indeed... trading such a rare treasure for a mere thief's trinket. But you see, my employers are very specific about what they want. And sometimes...”

She lowered her voice to a dangerous whisper, her eyes darting toward Emilia and Rom. “...collecting things in person is much more satisfying.”

WHOOSH!

“WAAAHHH!”

CLING!

The woman's knives were blocked by Subaru’s spirit sword.

“Was wondering when you’d show your true face.” he said to her while both blades interlock each other.

“Interesting, you seem to have a special ability to manifest swords, a divine protection you have.” The woman smiled.

“Who the hell are you, woman?”

“Since you ask so kindly, my name is Elsa Grainhert, the Bowl Hunter.” She introduced herself to Subaru.

“Oh shit the Bowel Hunter?!” Felt shouted in shock.

"The Bowel Hunter herself," Subaru said, his voice remaining remarkably calm as he adjusted his stance. With a flick of his wrist, a brilliant blade of golden energy ignited in his hand, radiating purifying warmth into the dim, damp air of the loot house.

Elsa’s eyes glittered with dark fascination as she drew her twin kukri blades with a metallic whisper. "What a beautiful weapon... and what exquisite form. Let us see if your guts are as vibrant as your light!"

In the blink of an eye, Elsa closed the distance, her blades blurring into an intricate dance of death. But Subaru moved with the instinct of a seasoned master, his blade parrying each lethal strike with effortless precision. Metal clashed against holy light in a shower of sparks as Subaru fluidly redirected her momentum, countering with swift, calculated slashes that forced the assassin back.

"Magnificent!" Elsa purred, leaping backward onto a wooden beam before springing forward again at blinding speed. "Your swordsmanship is truly legendary, young man! Such grace, such finesse-"

Suddenly, her trajectory shifted mid-air, a deceptive footfall causing Subaru's guard to stray just a fraction of an inch to the left.

"-but your footwork leaves a gap!" she hissed in delight.

Before Subaru could adjust, Elsa slipped past his guard like a shadow. Her curved blade flashed across his midsection in a clean, horrific arc. The fabric of his tracksuit tore open, followed immediately by a gruesome spray of crimson. Subaru stumbled backward as his stomach split open, his guts and organs spilling out onto his hands and the wooden floorboards.

Felt gasped in sheer horror, while Emilia cried out, "Subaru!"

Elsa brought a blood-stained blade to her lips, her eyes heavy with dark ecstasy as she admired her handiwork. "Ah, warm, lovely bowels... so soft, so beautiful..."

Her sentence dissolved into a stunned silence as a strange, squelching sound echoed through the room.

The spilled blood on the floor began to bubble, reversing its flow and shooting back toward Subaru's body. His exposed guts and organs twitched with pink, gum-like elasticity, coiling back inside his abdominal cavity like living tendrils. The gaping wound on his torso knit together at terrifying speed-muscle fibers, blood vessels, and skin seamlessly fusing back into place without leaving so much as a scratch.

Subaru wiped a stray smear of blood from his cheek and stretched his torso with a satisfied pop, cracking a smirk at the frozen assassin. "Sorry to burst your bubble, Elsa, but my bowels are staying right where they belong!"

“What the!? How, what the hell are you!?” she shouted in shock.

“Simple, my name is Subaru Natsuki! Remember that once I kick your ass!” Subaru declared before rushing to her.

Cocky one, aren't you?” Elsa asked, going to cut him again. “I’ll just cut you until it sticks.”

“Same could be said for you as well,” Subaru stated, then summoned a second sword in his other hand to duel wield like Elsa. “Just need you to slip up.”

Sparks flew wildly across the dimly lit room as twin blades of golden energy clashed against Elsa's lethal kukris. The Bowel Hunter's movements were a terrifying blur of acrobatic slices and deceptive feints, but Subaru matched her blow for blow. His movements flowed with the effortless elegance of a seasoned master, the instinctual mastery of blade weapon art guiding his every parry and counterstroke.

"Such speed! Such resilience!" Elsa laughed breathlessly, her eyes gleaming with chaotic fervor as she flipped off a wooden pillar, slicing down toward Subaru's head. "You really are a wonderful anomaly, Subaru!"

Subaru crossed his spirit swords overhead, catching her blades in an X-lock. "I'm just getting started!" he grunted, flexing his Majin strength to shove her backward into the air.

Seeing her opportunity as Elsa's balance wavered mid-air, Felt darted forward like a streak of golden lightning. "Don't forget about me, you crazy assassin!" she yelled, springing off Old Man Rom's shoulder and lunging at Elsa's flank with her knife drawn.

Elsa twisted her body to parry Felt's surprise strike, but the sudden distraction split her focus. Subaru capitalized instantly, stepping into her guard with blinding footwork and landing a crushing palm strike empowered by holy light directly against Elsa's chest.

The impact sent Elsa skidding backward across the wooden floorboards, her dark cloak smoking from the purifying heat. She gasped as she caught her breath, her confident smile finally faltering as Subaru and Felt closed in together, seamlessly coordinating their attacks to press the advantage and drive the Bowel Hunter into a corner.

“We’re ready!” Emalia shouted, as she and Puck had gathered magic to create a giant ice spear, and threw it at her at high speed, spinning like a drill.

Elsa tried to move, only to stumble and see that her feet were frozen to the floor. “When did they-!?” She cut herself off as she rapidly cut at the giant piece of ice.

“Like that bowel hunter?” Subaru grinned at Elsa. “You never even noticed how cold the room is.”

“You think that this will-” She stopped when a sudden surge of pain hit her from the back. She turned to see Lilithmon coming from her shadow, her nails elongated into daggers.

“Razor Nail~!” She called out as Elsa saw that her body was starting to corrode from where Lilithmon jabbed her.

“W-When did you-?” Elsa was cut off when she coughed up blood.

"Should have watched your shadow, dear~” Lilithmon stated, before vanishing in her shadow again before the giant ice spike rammed into Elsa, sending her skidding back into one of the building support beams.

“Did we get her?” Felt asked.

She got her answer as Elsa panted as she had blood trailing down from her head as her wounds then healed. “How lovely, you aren’t the only one who knows regeneration.” She smiled at Subaru.

“Oh great, just what I need, someone else who can regenerate.” Subaru groaned under his breath, he was not expecting someone to have an ability like he did. He then got a signal from his clone that made him smile, confusing Elsa. “Heh, guess the cavalry finally arrived.”

“What are you-?” She was cut off when the door to the house was kicked in with Subaru’s clone walking in with a man that was exactly six feet tall, making him several inches taller than Natsuki Subaru. His most striking feature is his distinct flaming red hair that shines as brightly as Felt's crimson eyes. His sparkling blue eyes portray a sense of confidence and recklessness. His slender frame features an array of well-toned muscles, although they're usually hidden by his clothing. He exuded an aura of gallantry, and, at a first glance, he gave off an intimidating air that indicated him as someone who is above the norm. His extraordinarily handsome face, beyond average looks and his open, calming and approachable personality makes him very popular with people, which catches the eye of many women, further exemplifying his magnificence.

“Lasdies and gentleman,” Subaru’s clone started, giving a dramatic bow, “let me introduce to you, Reinhard van Astrea, the Sword Saint, at your services~!"

“Hmph, just as I thought, Elsa Grainhart the Bowl Hunter.” Reinhard spoke while narrowing his eyes at Elsa.

“Also, Else,” Subaru stated, as he and his copy fused back together, “You were only fighting me at half strength sense I split myself in two to get Reinhard here, and you were still having trouble, now that I;m whole and we are still in good fighting shape, I think your odds just went down further. So do you surrender?”

Felt’s jaw dropped. “He was keeping up with her… with only half his power!? I thought he was going all out even with his clone!”

Elsa narrowed her eyes, looking around for a way out of this situation. “Looks like my odds are dwindling…”

“Does that mean you’ll come willingly?” Subaru asked, but having a feeling he already knew the answer..

“You’re cute to think that,” Elsa stated, having her blades ready to cut a way out if she had to. “But no, I still have things to do.”

“Then you are under arrest.” Reinhard spoke to Elsa.

“Let’s try not blowing up the building with a swing from yours, okay?” Lilitmom stated, appearing from Subaru’s shadow. “We do not need her getting escape routes if you’re that powerful.”

“You are a swordsman as well?” Reinhard asked Subaru, seeing his spirit sword. “Those swords don’t have a physical form yet feel condensed.”

“They are a Holy Light Sword that I can manipulate the appearance of,” Subaru informed him. “Usful when you want to change your sword fighting style on the fly.”

“At least your sword lets you draw it whenever,” Reinhard said, holding his sheathed blade. “Mine doesn’t see her as worthy of drawing.”

“Then I feel honored it drew for me then,” Subaru said, smiling. “I still need to train my body to match my Swordsman Skill potential. Hope you can wait on that for a duel."

“I shall, I look forward to seeing if I might have a challenge,” Reinhard said, smiling.

Elsa gave the two a deadpan, before taking the opportunity to try and kill or hurt them long enough to get past them and flee. “You really shouldn’t lose focus.” She stated, about to strike them, but the two young men countered her with ease, making her stumble back.

The worst part… they were still having a conversation!

“I take it you have a lot of powers and finding someone to challenge you is far and few between?” Subaru asked him.

“You have no idea,” Reinhard said, what looked like a genuine smile starting to form on his face. “All my blessings tend to make things way to easy at times.”

“Well, I actually earn blessings through the feats I achieve and tasks I complete,” Subaru stated, smiling at him. “So you might have a friend in the ‘overpowered swordsmen’ group soon~”

“Truly? You do not jest?” he asked him.

“I do not,” Subaru stated.

“Will you two stop with the bromance and focus on the serial killer…” Lilithmon asked the two in a deadpan.

The two looked at her, then looked at each other, then gave sheepish smiles. “She does have a point,” Subaru stated. “We should try and take in the Bowl Hunter here.”

Elsa’s eyes darted across the room, registering the overwhelming force stacked against her. With the Sword Saint standing composed, Subaru’s regenerative Majin body completely fresh, a Digimon Goddess lurking in the shadows, and Emilia’s spirit ice magic at the ready, the realization hit her cleanly; he had been thoroughly outmaneuvered and outmatched.

“My, my... it appears I’m completely outmatched today,” Elsa purred, her voice dripping with artificial sweetness despite the grim reality of her situation. “A girl knows when she’s no longer welcome.”

“You’re not going anywhere, Bowel Hunter,” Reinhard said firmly, stepping forward as his hand rested on the hilt of his sheathed blade. “Surrender quietly.”

“Did you really think a professional like me comes to the slums alone without a contingency plan?” Elsa smirked, throwing her head back with a sinister laugh.

CRASH!

Before anyone could react, the wooden walls of the loot house shattered into splinters as several monstrous, jet-black wolf-like creatures with glowing red eyes and vicious fangs burst into the room. Wild, terrifying snarls echoed throughout the small space.

“Witchbeasts?!” Emilia gasped, instinctively summoning floating shards of ice around herself and Felt.

“Guarm!” Old Man Rom yelled, raising his massive club to protect the young girl.

Taking advantage of the sudden chaos and dust filling the air, Elsa flipped backward through the shattered opening in the wall, landing gracefully on a rooftop outside. “Until next time, Natsuki Subaru! I look forward to carving out those lovely bowels of yours when we meet again!” she called out before vanishing into the shadowy darkness of the slums.

“Hey! Get back here, you slippery snake!” Subaru shouted, conjuring a dual pair of glowing throwing blades like Dagger from Marvel Comics. He used his Master Blade Weapon Mastery

And threw them at her, almost going to hit her when one of the Mabeasts got in the way of it… and its body dissolving from the holy light when it was hit by it.

“Damn! She got away!” Subaru shouted in frustration.

“Look on the bright side, Subaru, your sword is a powerful counter to these Mabeasts,” Puck stated. “That has to count for something.”

“We need to kill these monsters before they kill anyone in the slums!” Felt shouted, angered at that woman for letting loose these monsters here.

“No worries, I think I can handle these.” Subaru said to Felt.

“Allow me to assist you.” Reinhard stepped up alongside Subaru, his expression turning calm and focused as his hand rested upon the hilt of his sword. With a swift movement, Subaru propelled himself forward with superhuman Majin agility, blurring across the room like a streak of golden lightning. Twin blades of radiant holy energy burst into existence from his hands, cutting through the darkness with brilliant brilliance.

Before the Mabeasts could even register his movement, Subaru pirouetted gracefully through their ranks. His spirit swords cleaved through two of the lunging wolf-like creatures in a single fluid arc, purifying holy flames engulfing their forms and instantly reducing them to harmless ash. "Two down!" Subaru called out, bouncing off the wall to vault over another beast and slicing it cleanly in half mid-air.

The remaining Mabeasts growled viciously, turning their red eyes toward the Sword Saint. Swiping his sheath, slicing cleanly through the air without damaging a single beam of the loot house.

The shockwave passed through the remaining Witchbeasts instantaneously, disintegrating them into fine dust before the sound of the slash even reached the onlookers' ears. Reinhard smoothly sheathed his weapon with a soft click, adjusting his posture as if he had merely fanned away a fly.

"Whoa..." Felt gasped, her jaw hanging open as she looked back and forth between the dust-filled air and the two swordsmen standing side-by-side. "That was... ridiculously fast."

Subaru let his spirit blades fade into glowing particles, wiping a light sweat from his brow with a confident grin. "Nice finish, Reinhard! We make a pretty good team, don't we?"

Reinhard offered a warm, genuine smile in return, bowing slightly toward Subaru. "Indeed, Subaru. Your skill and control are remarkable."

“Thanks, but I still have a long way to go. I might have the skills, but I need the training to make it better,” he stated, smiling at him.

Subaru widened his eyes and saw the notifications he received from the chaos gacha. More rolls for him.

“I thank you for your assistance.” Reinhard spoke to Subaru with gratitude. “If you hadn’t informed me this would’ve become a national disaster.”

“No sweat Reinhard. I just needed to make sure if in case something happens there’s always backup you can count on.” Subaru said to Reinhard.

“You may seem aloof, but you seem very wise and have a cunning tactician's mind,” Reinhard stated.

“Thanks,” Subaru said, smiling. He then turned to Felt. “Okay Felt, time to return the crest.”

Felt let out a huff, but took the Dragon’s Insignia out and went to return it to Elimia.

Reinhard’s eyes widened as he saw it glowing in Felt’s hands.

Subaru saw the shock on his face. “I take it when it glows it means something?” he asked him.

“It does,” he stated, about to go grab her, before Subaru stops him. “Why are you-?”

“I have a feeling, you were just going to ask her vague questions about her, and give no answers, just up and take her, am I right?” Subaru asked. “If that glow means what I think it means, and it’s for your mission I heard about, you might want to explain this to her first. Otherwise you might just make things worse.”

“... Was I that obvious?” he asked him.

“Just seen this scenario multiple times in stories.”

“You read books?”

“Yeah, lots of them.”

“I see. … Okay then, I’ll take your advice.” Reinhard stated. He then walked up to Felt. “Uh, excuse me, Felt was it?”

Felt looked at the Sword Saint, worried. “Yes? Can I… help you?”

“I need you to come with me.”

“Am I in trouble?”

“No, in fact, you may be who I’ve been looking for. Tell me, how old are you?”

“... 15 why?”

“You’re lying again,” Lilithmon stated, appearing behind Felt.

“Gah! Don’t do that!” Felt shouted. “... Fine, I’m 14, but I really don’t know what my actual age is due to not knowing when my real birthday is.”

“So you're not old as you said huh? I always knew you were a small little tiny brat.”

“Shut up!” Felt snarled at the Dark Digimon.

Reinhard nodded, then kneeled to her. “Then, I need you to come with me, it's very important.”

“Why would I go with you?” Felt asked him, unsure if she should trust him.

"Because you hold the qualities required of a royal candidate," Reinhard explained gently, his voice calm and sincere. "The insignia glowing in your hand is proof that you are chosen by the Dragon itself to potentially lead the Kingdom of Lugunica."

Felt’s mouth fell open, her jaw practically hitting the dusty floorboards. "M-Me?! A royal candidate?! Are you out of your mind?! I'm a thief from the slums!"

"Be that as it may, the Dragon Insignia does not lie," Reinhard replied, offering a gentle, reassuring hand. "I promise no harm will come to you or Old Man Rom. But I must ask you to accompany me to the capital."

Subaru grinned, stepping alongside them and resting a hand on his hip. "Looks like your life just got a whole lot more chaotic, Felt! Welcome to the royal race!"

“... You’re being smug about me being someone important and a target… aren’t you…?” she asked him in a deadpan.

“Eh, not really, but I’d go with him, just in case, sense your value went up a hundred fold, and the Bowl Hunter will be after even more now,” Subaru stated.

“... I know you’re right… But I still hate you for it…”

“And think of it this way, you now have sway in helping reform the slums now if you’re in this race,” Subaru added, trying to increase the chances of her going with Reinhard. “Though, you will be facing Emilia and three others for the throne.”

“... Fine…” She said, then turned and pointed at the sword saint. “BUT I’M NOT WEARING ANY DRESS, GOT IT!”

“I’m afraid that's not an option.”

“Oh goddammit.”

“Oh please, a queen? The whole entire kingdom would be in ruins if you sit on the throne.” Lilithmon said to Felt.

“WHAT DID YOU SAY TO ME HAG?!”

“You heard me! Ruling a kingdom needs someone who knows how to rule, not an immature brat like you and also you're still a child.” Lilithmon said while pushing up her breast and smirking at her, “Leave it to the adults while you just stay behind and drink milk.”

Felt was held back by Rom, who was streaming in frustration, and ready to attack her. “I WILL NOT BE LECTURED BY A SPIRIT THAT DRESS LIKE A BROTHAL’S HEAD OF HOUSE! YOU WOULDN’T KNOW HOW TO BE DIGNIFIED WITHOUT BE SALUTIONS, YOU WANNABBE ROYAL WENCH!”

“WHAT DID YOU SAY TO ME YOU LITTLE BRAT?!” Lilithmon shouted, as sparks flew between the two.

Subaru groans while pinching his nose while Reinhard and Emilia sweatdropped at the sight.

“Are they… Always like this…?” Reinhard asked Subaru.

“Since they met this afternoon? Yes.” he answered his fellow swordsman.

Reinhard gently placed a calming hand on Felt's shoulder, diffusing the escalating shouting match between her and Lilithmon.

"Now, now, let us maintain our composure," Reinhard said with his characteristic serene smile. "Felt, Old Man Rom, you both have my word that you will be treated with the utmost respect at the capital. No harm will come to you."

Rom let out a heavy sigh, his towering shoulders slumping in defeat as he realized the magnitude of the situation. He looked down at Felt, his expression softened by years of paternal care. "Go on, then, lass. If the Sword Saint himself is vouching for it, and with... whatever kind of powers these weirdos have backing us up, maybe it's time you found out where you truly belong."

Felt grumbled, crossing her arms defensively. "Fine! But the moment someone tries to put me in a stiff, itchy dress, I'm stealing a carriage and running back to the slums!"

"It's a deal," Reinhard chuckled softly.

Emilia stepped forward, offering Felt a warm, reassuring smile. "We'll be right there with you, Felt. You won't be alone."

“Let us be off then.” Reinhard said to Felt, turning to Subaru. “Where will you go?”

“Me? Well I’m still trying to find my way around here as I’m pretty new. Like I said, my village is remote. We don’t get involved much in the world due to our race abilities.” Subaru answered to Reinhard.

“With your demihuman trait I can see why your village chose to isolate themselves.” Reinhard said to Subaru.

“What if……………….. What if you come with me?” Emilia hesitated to Subaru and suggested to him.

“Really?”

“It's my way of giving you my thanks and for helping me not only retrieve my insignia but also stopped the bowl hunter.” Emilia said to Subaru.

Subaru smiled at her. “Thank you. I really do appreciate it.”

(???)

“Hmmmmm? Something has changed.” A woman spoke while sensing something. A young woman with a small, delicate body. She has long, straight platinum hair, she has blue eyes with slit pupils that are framed by long eyelashes and a single sheet of white fabric that covers her torso and traipses over her. The decoration of the fabric has a line of deep blue stitches at the top and a matching blue ribbon. Aside from her gown, the other sole piece of material she has is a blue ribbon tied into her hair that is similar to the one that decorated her dress.

This was Pandora, the Witch of Vainglory.

“Ahhhh, I see.” Pandora spoke while looking up at the sky. “So that's what changed, time has changed. How interesting.” She spoke with interest. With her authority she can sense and bend reality itself, making her nearly as omnipotent with just her authority alone. She has sensed a change within the timeline.

Her quiet, unreadable expression slowly gave way to a subtle, intriguing curve of her lips. She raised a delicate finger, watching as a tiny fracture in the ambient mana mend itself, completely erasing the ripple that Subaru’s altered destiny had cast across reality.

"The boy... Natsuki Subaru," Pandora murmured softly, her airy voice carrying a strange blend of fascination and delight. "The threads that bound him to the Witch's favor have been rewoven. A force outside the design of this world has touched his path."

She turned her gaze toward the distant horizon, looking in the direction of the royal capital. The subtle shift in the timeline was subtle to most, but to her, the distortion created by something chaotic. When she attempted to peer through.

BAAM!

She was instead hit by something chaotic, pushing her back as she widened her eyes, a drip of blood trailed down from a slice of her cheek, wounding her……………. for the very first time in her entire existence.

“W-What is this?” Pandora asked in shock.

Pandora gently raised two pale fingers to her cheek, feeling the warm droplet of crimson that trickled down her skin. She stared at her fingertips, her violet eyes widening slightly in quiet fascination. Pain. a sensation she had not experienced in centuries uncounted, erased almost before it could ever take root, had lingered for a fleeting, terrifying second.

"Fascinating..." she whispered, her voice like soft velvet blowing through a cold breeze. "The authority of Vainglory... rejected?"

She closed her eyes and extended her senses outward once more, attempting to weave a simple reality where the chaotic entity's voice had never reached her ears. Yet, the moment her authority brushed against the conceptual sphere surrounding Natsuki Subaru, the threads of logic snapped and dissolved into meaningless static. It was as though a void of pure, unbridled unpredictability had been anchored directly to his soul, shielding him from the absolute decree of her words.

A delicate, genuine smile curved upon Pandora's lips. For the first time since the age of the Witches, something truly unknown had walked onto the grand stage of her design.

"Natsuki Subaru..." she murmured softly, her eyes gleaming with an eerie, serene curiosity as she gazed off toward the distant capital. "An anomaly beyond the rewrites of fate... What kind of future will a piece outside the board create?"

(Back with Subaru)

“Huh? Wait what?”

AN:

(Covered in heavy wounds and purple blood bleeding all over him as he was on the ground, coughing heavily with blood)................ Damn, she was strong, almost killed us all.

Light: (Looking ragged) At least we got her sealed again…

Xara: (Trying not to fade) Yeah, well… it wasn’t a cake walk… that’s for sure…

In the end it was all worth it. (Slowly gets up and gets onto a chair) now Subaru won’t suffer or have to die multiple times in many agonizing deaths. This time he has something that will help him. He didn’t die from the first death, gained new friends, familiar and most of all, becoming friends with Reinhard.

Xara: (Takes a Mega-Potion) That Majin form will be doing the bulk of him surviving. The only way I can see him dying is complete vaporization or absolute zero freezing.

And we won’t need to worry about power scaling cause lets see, there’s one that can stop time around his body which even Reinhard can’t damage, Reinhard is literally the pinnacle strongest being in the world but even his power is no match against enemies that are also too OP. Rabbits that spawn endlessly I can keep going.

Light: And he will be taken a lot more seriously by the knights with his Light Sword and Master Blade Weapon Mastery.
Quite so, let's end this so we can get back to powering the seal. Thank you guys for reading our chapter, as usual we enjoyed writing these types of stories, we found what we love to do. Give out some ideas on tickets that we could use. And who knows we might even make another chaos gacha.

Light: Also, vote in the comments if Subaru should give Majin powers to Emila, Ren and Ran with his own Majin magic?

Oh it would be great to have more allies. Give it a vote and maybe who knows. And we will see you all guys later!

PEACE OUT!
