Oliver's First Halloween

Summary:

Since the orphanage in Greed didn't give him much of a Halloween experience, Ozzie and Fizz decide to remedy that by giving Oliver a fun time for his first Halloween with them.

Notes:

Thank you to AnimeToonzForever for this idea. I'm gonna be splitting it into a few parts but this is gonna be something nice and light after how heavy the new episodes got.

Also, please no talking about spoilers for at least 24 hours. Not everyone can see the episodes right away or stay up late to watch them like I did. It's common courtesy.

All I'll is I really like them so far and I'm excited to see where we're going.

I figured we'd start nice and easy with Oliver getting a delicious chocolate pumpkin muffin breakfast with his dads while carving pumpkins and Fizz making plans to give Oliver a fun time without going overboard. Just family and friends of family to get him used to everyone since meeting strangers is gonna be a lot. But he'll have his solo time with each of them and they'll be nice.

Also, while this is mostly in canon with the show, I'm still sprinkling in some of my other AU in here. Like Fizz being able to go trick-or-treating with Blitz and Barbie as kids and Cash taking the candy they don't like because he actually likes it. Candy tax and all ;)

Chapter 1: Pumpkin Fun

Chapter Text

“So babe, which design aesthetic works better? Bats or spiders?” Ozzie asked, holding up two sets of sexy negligee. The designers at his factories were making mockups for the Halloween line and he wanted to get some insight on which designs would sell well going forward.

Fizz, who was doing a crossword puzzle, turned to his partner and seriously considered it. “Well the ears on bats are cute for an accessory but I could see the appeal for a cobweb inspired look. Except Barbie would be terrified since she HATES spiders,” Fizz mused before pointing to the first one. “Go with the bat look. Less likely to end in a fear-fueled destruction fit.”

Ozzie smiled as he messaged the factory to go forward with the bat look. He then turned to see Oliver coming in with some paper pumpkins and bats. “Hey kiddo! How’s it going?” Ozzie greeted his adoptive son.

‘Great! I just finished making these!’ Oliver signed proudly, holding up the cute bat and pumpkin paperchains. ‘Could you help me put them up?’

“Sure Oliver!” Fizz smiled, stretching over to take the decorations from his son while using his other arm to look for mounting tags. “These look really good! How’d you learn to make these?”

‘Back at the orphanage. It was sort of a class project to get us into the spirit of things since we weren’t allowed to go trick-or-treating,’ the young boy explained, blinking curiously when Ozzie and Fizz stared in horror. ‘Did I say something wrong?’

“You’ve never dressed up to get candy?” Fizz asked in shock.

“Or been allowed to go to Earth without a human disguise to prank some humans?” Ozzie added.

‘They didn’t want to lose any of us during the chaos of the holidays,’ Oliver admitted. ‘But we did get candy! Those weird pumpkin candies that are kinda chewy…and those coconut ones that always get left at the bottom of the candy bag…and those gummies that taste like soap…’

Fizz placed down the decorations before stretching to sit by his son. “What would you say if we gave you the full Halloween experience kiddo? I’m talking trick-or-treating where you can get the GOOD candy, pulling pranks on some silly humans, and decorating the penthouse where we can have our own little Halloween party? Not too many people. Just our friends and family,” Fizz offered before giving him a grin. “Ya like?”

“I think Bee would love to help set up for a Halloween party. It’d give her a break from those big bashes she throws in Gluttony,” the Lust Sin added, happy to give his boy something fun to do for the big night.

‘If it’s not too much trouble, I’d love it!’ Oliver signed happily before hugging his new dads. ‘I gotta make some more decorations! We can make some more paper chains!’

The new parents watched as Oliver ran back to his room to get some supplies, happy to see him so excited. “I can’t believe the orphanages in Greed wouldn’t let them do more fun things for Halloween. It’s one of the best times of the year for a demon,” Ozzie commented.

“I can,” Fizz told him, surprising the Lust demon. “It wasn’t until after I left to stay with the Buckzo family that I could do Halloween normally. It wasn’t big but it was still fun. Heck, Mr. Buckzo was like a garbage disposal for the candies we didn’t like.” He laughed as he thought of those old days. “H-He actually LIKED black licorice!”

“Sounds like a fun time, sweetness,” Ozzie chuckled, bending down to nuzzle him. “I bet you saw your fair share of pranks with Blitz and Barbie, right?”

“Oh yeah,” the shorter imp grinned. “We never got the chance to go to Earth to pull pranks but the ones we pulled in Hell around the neighborhood were fun.” He then looked at Ozzie seriously. “Never get into a prank war with those two. You’ll look absolutely ridiculous.”

“I’ll take your word for it, babe.”

Fizz glanced up to where Oliver’s room was before looking back at Ozzie. “Hey, I wanna do something special for Oliver but…I don’t wanna scare him, you know? When Bee helps with the party, nothing too big okay?”

“I’ll talk to her, baby,” Ozzie promised, kissing his head.

Oliver woke up to the smell of something delicious cooking downstairs. Putting on his slippers, he ran down to the kitchen and saw Ozzie taking out some chocolate pumpkin muffins from the oven while Fizz was carrying in some pumpkins and placing them on the table.

“Morning Oliver!” Fizz waved.

‘Good morning!’ Oliver signed before looking around. ‘What’s all this?’

“Well we wanted your first proper Halloween to get started in a delicious way,” Ozzie told him, placing the tray on the counter. “In the meantime, you wanna carve some pumpkins?”

Oliver scampered over to the table, letting Fizz lift him up so they could look at designs together. “I got this book from the store and you can make your own designs or follow a pattern in a book,” Fizz told him.

‘That’s so cool!’ Oliver smiled before picking up some shape cutters. ‘Will these go through the pumpkins?’

“Oh yeah. And this is a LOT easier than poking teeny tiny holes in a pumpkin and trying to cut them out,” the older imp told him. “Well, after scooping out the pumpkin guts of course!”

‘Eeew!’ Oliver laughed silently, seeing Fizz take a handful of pumpkin innards and plopping them onto a baking pan. ‘What are you gonna do with that?’

“I’m actually gonna bake the seeds,” Ozzie chimed in, sitting on Oliver’s other side. “Pumpkin seeds actually taste pretty damned good after you cook ‘em.” He then slid over a plate with a chocolate pumpkin muffin. “Bee recommended this recipe. I hope you like it.”

Oliver sniffed the still-warm muffin before taking a bite, his tail swishing from delight. ‘It’s good!’ he signed, giving both his dads a thumbs up.

“Oh I’m glad to hear that. Pumpkin on its own is usually bland but adding some chocolate along with the right spices makes it taste great,” the larger Sin sighed in relief.

“That's why I don’t like those pumpkin spice latte things. Coffee’s fine on its own and mixing it with pumpkin is kinda...gross,” Fizz gagged, making his partner and son laugh. “But we’ve got more fun in store today!”

While Oliver and Ozzie were happily enjoying their breakfast treat, Fizz was sending a few texts to some people he knew would be able to show Oliver a fun time for Halloween. Pranks, candy, a fun little party, and maybe some Halloween movies to play on the TV while their little party was going on.

“Hey kiddo, with horror movies, are you a yay or a nay?” Fizz asked.

‘I don’t like stuff that’s too scary,’ the young imp admitted.

“Hey we’re in the same boat!” the jester imp grinned, making a mental note of that. “Okay nothing above a PG rating tonight. The fun’s only just beginning!”
