Lu Guang was a lot like a cat, that was the best simplest Cheng Xiaoshi could view the other man. He was grumpy, he acted cold, he took a lot of naps, he liked food even if he didn’t eat much at times, he’s very good at hiding when he’s sick until he can’t hide, and he liked to sunbathe.
It was precisely what he was doing right now, in fact. He was laying down on the couch in the sun room, right where the light was hitting. His eyes were shut peacefully, and for once did he not carry the same tired expression he always had when he was awake.
Cheng Xiaoshi sat down on the couch, careful not to disturb the other man. He set his hand on Lu Guang’s hair, it was as soft as it always was. It was not unlike the fur of a cat, a white, very grumpy, but still so adorable cat. The comparison caused a smile to appear on Cheng Xiaoshi’s face, as he started to run his hand through Lu Guang’s hair.
“... Cheng Xiaoshi?” Lu Guang mumbled, his voice laced with sleepiness. He cracked open his eyes, and squinted up at the man.
“Lu Guang!” Cheng Xiaoshi grinned widely, letting out a laugh when he saw Lu Guang’s expression sour.
“Be quiet,” he grumbled. He moved slightly, as if he was trying to get up. Cheng Xiaoshi moved his hand off of his head.
“Sorry, sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.” And he was being honest about that, truly! Lu Guang had looked so cute while sleeping, of course, he always did look cute, but a sleeping Lu Guang was a lot like a sleeping cat. Now he felt guilty for waking Lu Guang, damnit.
Though that train of thinking came to an abrupt stop when Lu Guang had lied back down, only this time with his head in Cheng Xiaoshi’s lap. His face was pressed against the other man’s stomach, and he wrapped his arms around Cheng Xiaoshi’s waist.
Cheng Xiaoshi’s smile only grew, and he could feel his cheeks heat up. “Aw, Lu Guang-”
Lu Guang sighed, and Cheng Xiaoshi could only chuckle in return as he moved his hand back to the top of Lu Guang’s hair, stroking it as he had been moments before. Lu Guang pressed his head against the hand, sighing once more, but this time he sounded more content than he did annoyed.
He was just like a cat.
And god, how Cheng Xiaoshi adored him.
