Chapter Text
I sit in the pale fields, and lean against a golden tree. My head hangs low not wanting to see the mindless people wandering The fields of Asphodel. I try to imagine I’m not here most of the time, I try to block out quiet that lingers in the air. I hate the sound of it because of how long I’ve heard it. God, I wish Sammy were here he fill my empty stomach with his joy but now I can feel is a desperate need and hunger for the feeling of him. My body begins to curl in on itself with the ache inside my stomach. I hate the way I left, and the way I died my father couldn’t even make me forget it all. But I still love the images that play in my head with his dark brown hair hitting the sun that was about to set and a crooked smile as he handed me my cupcake that was a pile of mush in his hand. As the warmth flooded through me so did tears but I let them flow and fall on my cheeks. This is what I get but even as the grief and shame hit me exhaustion takes me before I am consumed by my regrets.

My eyes weigh heavy as I lift my head. There’s a boy in front of me he seems a bit older a scar faded and start at his twisted brow to his lip. His blonde hair cover apart of his pale face as he looks at me.The boy speaks with a raised voice much unlike the wandering people of Asphodel, “Are you Hazel Levesque?” My body straightens as he says my name, a name I can only repeat to myself when I start to think I might go mad. “ How would you know?” I ask, the boy’s fringed eyebrows raise at my response. “Well I have an offer for you if you are the Hazel I speak of.” I stand up “I am Hazel Levesque and what offer do you have for me?” The boy breathes softly and whispers “An offer to take down the gods and put them in their place.” My eyes widened, what does he mean by taking down the gods does he want to kill them? I lower my voice “ How are you going to kill the gods if that is what you plan to do?” The boy grins “Yes we’re going to kill the gods, with the help of Kronos” he raises his hands “Are you in?” I shake his hand “Well then take me to wherever we need to go” The boy lets go of my hand “Alright then let’s go”

As we walk through the yellow weeds that surround Asphodel I feel a sense of relief wash over me instead of worry and dread and I haven’t felt that since my birthday. We’re about cross the end of the field when I look up and stop “What’s your name you already know mine so what about yours” I kinda feel bad because I’ve been calling him “the boy” since he walked towards me. He answers me turning his head to look at me “Luke Castellan.” Then he turns back and we continue our walk to leave the underworld or whatever he plans.
