It was a cool summers night, Jen Tennyson was currently sitting at plumber HQ bored out of her mind, "ugh Rook come on, theres gotta be something to do, it's been like forever since I got some proper action" Jen restlessy played with the alien device on her arm, the Omnitrix gave her the ability to transform into many different alien species, its been 8 years since the watch strapped itself to her arm and she's put it to good use over the years being something of a super hero but thats all slowed down now with earth becoming more of a hub for the Plumbers.
"Most issues have been dealt with by regular agents" Jen's cat-like Alien partner explained while searching recent reports on the computer, "We picked up some strange energy readings coming from the old train yard a couple days ago, it looks to be low priority"
"Must be why no one's checked it out yet. Well it's something let's get going" Jen got out of her chair brushing her messy brown hair out of her face and pulling on her green jacket.
"Someone's eager to get to work, you must be coming down with something" a chuckle came from behind Jen, she turned to see her grandpa Max dressed in his favourite Hawaiian shirt, "I don't blame you, not many big threats these days huh, honestly sending you on small jobs like this is a bit overkill"
"I haven't even seen the C listers lately it's like they've finally figured out they have no chance against me" Jen laughed as she followed Rook to his truck.
"Jennifer you should know not to underestimate people, maybe all this downtime has made you sloppy"
Jen was a bit shocked Grandpa Max hadn't been that stern with her for quite some time, "Come on Grandpa, I've saved the universe a hundred times, nobody's seen Vilgax since I beat his butt the last time and I've embarrassed pretty much anyone who's gone up against me"
"You've always been quick to forget all the help you've had over the years, Gwen,Kevin even myself and now Rook" Max gave her a stern look as she got in the truck.
"Grandpa I appreciate the help, but I think I'm more than capable of whatever's thrown my way" Jen snarked as Rook's truck drove away.
The proto-truk came to a stop just outside Bellwood's old train station , it was only three years ago when Jen put the Omnitrix back on to fight the DNAliens here, Jen felt an odd nostalgia as Rook and her explored the place, it had only gotten more decrepit since then she could still see some of the aftermath from her fight.
"Why do they not dismantle this place, it does not seem to have been used in many years" Rook asked as he used the proto-tool to scan for a match for the odd signal as the two walked past rusting rails and train carriages.
"Too expensive, easier to just let it rot. Well that's at least what I heard, apparently someone bought it recently"
As they passed another rusted train cart Rook's scanner started beeping rapidly, Rook moved the scanner closer to the cart to confirm the readings only for the device to spark before shutting off.
"Well, that can't be good" Jen joked as she threw open the door revealing the inside of the car was filled with mismatched pieces of alien tech all joined together with a mess of wires, the machines were buzzing with life each one humming with its lights flickering, "Now this doesn't look suspicious at all"
"I think it would be best if we were more careful in here, we do not know the purpose of these machines, it could be dangerous". Rook's advice fell on deaf ears as Jen was already poking around the machines looking in every drawer for any clue to what's going on with this place.
"Come on don't be so boring, its just a bunch of junk some nutjob put together" Jen laughed as she looked through some old papers it was just then she noticed the machines weren't just idly humming anymore but whirring to life as electricity zapped around the room, "Rook get out!" Jen pushed her partner out of the cart.
Rook whinsed as his back hit a nearby wall before he could react to anything there was a bright flash of light and once he regained his vision the train cart had vanished.
Before Jen could comprehend what just happened she was falling through the sky the ground rapidly approaching from this height she knew the best she could wish for was a major injury as the forest below came into veiw Jen reached for the Omnitrix on her wrist, "ok literally any flyer would do or someone who can survive the fall, dont have time to be picky" when Jen touched the Omnitrix she was met with a violent shock of pink and green electricity "Dammit work would you" Jen looked down she was about to hit a tree and fast, "this is gonna hurt" Jen whiced in preparation for the impact.
Jen hit the tree hard tumbling down through its thick branches and hitting the ground bellow with thud, it took a moment for Jen too gather the strength to get up as she pushed herself off the ground groaning in pain she looked up to see a large forest and a dirt road a few feet away from her, Jen winced when the sunlight hit her eye realising it was morning wherever she was, "i should be glad I'm even walking right now, it does hurt like hell though, now where the hell am I" Jen took her phone out of her jacket pocket or what was left of it having been crushed in the fall, "this day just keeps getting worse"
Jen got to her feet and began following the dirt road thinking it would probably lead her to civilisation eventually, "Seriously, Omnitrix, I thought you had some failsafe to protect me, but no, let's just make a light show while I fall to my death," Jen grumbled as she picked leaves out of her hair while heading towards what looked like a town in the distance.
It was midday when Jen finally made it to the town, its name was called Hargeon, it was a busy port town that looked like it was plucked right out of a fantasy movie, "maybe I'm in Europe, would explain the time difference" Jen looked around looking for a phone repair shop or somewhere she could call Grandpa Max to arrange for a transport home, as jen walked through the town she saw a crowd gathering not too far from her, On a closer inspection it was a crowd of girls all gathered around a man with purple hair and a long cloak with a X tattoo above his right eye.
as Jen got closer she could make out what the man was say, "you ladies are all so sweet" said the strange man who Jen assumed was named Salamander as that was what all the girls in the crowd kept cheering, as Jen continued listening to the man she felt as if she was falling asleep, she couldn't properly tell what he was saying all she knew was that she liked it, before Jen completely lost track of her thoughts a young boy and a small blue cat came barging through the crowd trampling over Jen in the process causing both of them to fall and hit the ground hard.
"Hey watch where you're going jackass!" Jen shouted grabbing the boy by the collar of his jacket, before realising she could think clearly again
"Just get off of me I'm trying to get Igneal's attention!" the boy shouted back grabbing Jen's shirt, he looked up at Salamander in the middle of the crowd and his smile dropped suddenly, who the hell are you?"
"oh please surly you've heard of the great and powerful Salamander" the cloaked man laughed but he got no response as the younger boy had already started walking off not having listened to a word he said, only to be tackled to the ground by a group of fan girls, "oh let him be ladies, I must be going now but i hope you can all join me on my yacht this evening for a little soirée im hosting" the man laughed as he snapped his fingers and was carried up into the air by a cloud of purple flames and flew off into the distance.
As the crowd dispersed, Jen and the pink-haired boy got to their feet only to be greeted by one of the girls, she had long blonde hair. She was wearing a white and blue vest with a blue skirt, "Heya, I wanna thank you guys for breaking that spell, how about lunch on me" Jen didn't need much convincing falling out of the sky builds an appetite and the pink-haired guy seemed excited as well.
In the restaurant the girl introduced herself as Lucy and paid for whatever everyone wanted, "I'm really grateful for guys helping me out, that salamander guy was using a charm spell to hypnotise those girls, so Natsu was it and Happy right what brings you out here"
Natsu grinned still with a mouthful of food "We're looking for Igneal, we heard Salamander was in town and we came to see for ourselves"
Jen sat quietly for once this was all surreal even for her this girl was talking about magic like it was the most normal thing in the world. Now Jen was hardly unfamiliar with magic her cousin Gwen was an expert and she's fought against magic ussers before but this was different, magic was everywhere here, Lucy had explained she was a wizard and wanted to join up with some guild, it was making her head spin just thinking about it.
"And... Jen was it?" Lucy turned her attention away from Natsu who was devouring his fifth helping, "What brings you out here, you've got this funny look like you don't even know where you are"
"Well, I'm kinda lost at the moment, i was investigating something with my partner Rook but I got separated somehow" Jen tried explaining her situation without sounding completely mad.
"Oh, that's awful, are you like some kind of adventurer?" Lucy questioned.
"Oh, please look at her, she's tiny and I don't think she's a wizard of any sort, there's no way she's got what it takes for that line of work" Natsu laughed in between bites not noticing Jen's death glare.
"She's probably just separated from her boyfriend hehe" Happy snickered.
"HE IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND!" Jen shouted defensively not noticing Lucy politely leaving the table.
It was getting dark out as Jen wandered around town trying to think about her next move, the Omnitrix was still glitching out and zapping her whenever she tried to use it, "Ugh, greatest weapon in the universe, I should have kept the Ultimatrix maybe then I'd be having an easier time here" jen couldn't help but think back to her conversation with Grandpa Max, if she'd been more careful she wouldn't be in this situation or would she, that tech didn't look like it was malfunctioning, meaning this must have been the desired outcome.
"But what does anyone gain from sending me here?" Jen pondered while resting on a hill that overlooked the ocean, then it hit her shes all alone, she doesn't know how to contact the plumbers, there wouldn't be any backup if something went south here and with the Omnitrix on the fritz , "I'm in real trouble!"
"Bingo" a smug voice came from behind her before she was hit on the back of the head, knocking her out.
Jen's head was ringing as she woke up, she looked around and as the room swayed back and forth she guessed she was on some kind of boat, she tried to move but her hands were tied above her head attached to a pipe, her jacket was lying on a bench beside her leaving her in just her black shirt, "What kind of freak takes off a prisoner's jacket?"
"Now theres no need for harsh words jenny dear" a tall handsome man came through the door, Jen's stomach churned instantly.
"Darkstar, what the hell are you doing here!?" Jen desperately tugged at the rope binding her hands.
"Don't you get it my dearest Jennifer, i'm here for you, and now none of your little friends can get in my way" Darkstar aprouched Jen and tugged at the coller of her T-shirt, "Your cousin may be the prettier one but I'll always have an appreciation for your more generous curves" he made Jen sick, she head butted him as hard as she could sending him to the ground.
"DONT TOUCH ME OR WHEN I GET OUT I SWEAR TO GOD!"
"Oh what are you gonna do huh, you're having some tech issues aren't you" Darkstar got up holding his hand to the bleeding, "Dont you get it you're completely at my mercy, you have no friends in this world who can help you!"
As if on cue Jen felt an almighty crash, the entire boat rumbled and like a meteor crashed into it, the room shook so violently the wall collapsed and the pipes came flying off their fittings, and as the dust settled Jen saw Natsu standing tall among the rubble, "What can i say Darkstar i make fast friends" Jen had to take the opportunity to provoke her captor, she knew Natsu wasn't really here for her but it worked for her new plan but why was he here, looking around it looked like some kind of trafficking ring and then she saw the girl from before Lucy standing up to the Salamander guy.
"No! you've barely been here a day, you were meant to be weak, easy pickings!" Darkstar yelled as he grabbed Jen by the arm, Jen let out a wild smile before slamming down the omnitrix, she could barely reach it but just a little was enough, powerful sparks of pink and green danced around the room all being drawn to Darkstar because of his energy absorption and when the sparks faded they were followed by a bright flash of emerald green and in an instant Jen was gone and in her place stood a tall alien made out of fire and stone with the omnitrix symbol on her chest, "What's wrong too hot for you to handle?" It worked using him to absorb the excess energy allowed her to transform.
"Why you little bitch!" Darkstar yelled as he sent a massive wave of energy at jen blasting her through the wall and all the way to the beach of Hargeon.
"Ok intentionally powering up the bad guy is a double edged sword, who would have guessed" luckily Heatblast was decently tough but that blast still stung, as Jen got to her feet the sun was suddenly blocked out by the biggest wave she'd ever seen, "Oh shit"
The wave hit with tremendous force knocking Jen off her feet, feeling her flames die out always felt like drowning, once the water retreated she was left coughing as she struggled to get to her feet, she noticed Lucy accompanied by Happy had made it to shore and was yelling at tall blue haird mermaid.
"Lucy you alright what happened back there on the boat" Jen Raspy voice called out as she waved a firey hand.
Lucy immediately jumped back behind the mermaid, Happy followed by hiding behind Lucy, "Its a monster!!" As she yelled the mermaid scoffed and disappeared with a sparkle, "Aquarius don't just leave me here with this thing!"
"hey calm down it's me Jen, I promise"
"Whoah so you're some kind of take over mage, man I feel really stupid telling you and Natsu about my dreams of joining Fairy Tail"
"That fake salamander guy was trying to sell the girls on his yacht as slaves!" Happy jumped up onto Lucy's shoulder.
"Yeah and I saw you with that blonde guy, are you ok, it looked really bad" Lucy asked not sure how to approach the topic of what she saw, "I saw him exchanging money with the crew earlier, he said something about how his employers were happy with your capture"
"Heh don't worry about me, and i'll be dealing out punishment very soon" Jen laughed off the tough question and turned her attention to the boat, Natsu had launched the fake Salamander into the town and was brawling with the wizard, but Jen knew she couldn't get distracted with darkstar, she saw a small flash of darkness coming from the boat and immediately shoved Lucy out of the way before Darkstar came flying right into her, dragging her up into the town.
"You always have to ruin a good time don't you Jenny, your cousin was so much easier to drain" Darkstar's appearance had changed his handsome face had melted into something decrepit, "Thats why I agreed to this little plan, so I could have my fun with you, but no you had to go and ruin that"
"You're a total creep Michael, and I'm gonna enjoy kicking your ass" Jen let out a burst of fire knocking Darkstar off her, she had landed on the hard pavement of the town Square, not waiting for Michael to recover she launched a volley of fire balls at the creep sending him flying backwards into the towns clock tower.
The clock tower rumbled again as Natsu had just punched the fake Salamander into it, Natsu excitedly ran over to Jen, "A woman mad of fire?, where have you been all my life" Natsu lept at Jen only to be hit by a flaming right hook knocking him to the ground.
"Dude chill out, it's me Jen" the irony of being on fire and telling someone to chill out was not lost on Jen but she wasn't taking any chances after what Darkstar pulled on the boat, to Jen's surpise Nastu was completely fine after her attack and was eating the flames she left on him.
"Woah seriously, sorry, this fire tastes kinda weird though"
"How on earth are you doing that!?"
"I'm a fire dragon slayer, eating fire is kinda my thing and thanks for the meal, now I really got a fire in my belly", as Natsu laughed Jen noticed something moving in the rubble of the clock tower, Darkstar had got to his feet and was holding his accomplice by the neck, it only took a second and all the life was drained form the purple haired man and Darkstar stood there with his handsome face restored.
"Well at least he was good for something, now then let's finish this" Michael flew straight at Heatblast and Natsu smashing them through multiple buildings, "The people of this world are just so full of magic it's practically a feast"
Nasu head butted the man before grabbing him and throwing him down the street, "You talk too much" Natsu spat.
Jen saw the opening and launched herself at Michael blasting him point blank with a fireball, Nastu followed her lead smashing down on him with a flaming kick, Michael let out a blast of energy sending them both flying before he rose into the air and began gathering a large ball of energy, "That's it I'll just wipe this pathetic town off the map, I don't need you I'm Michael Morningstar every girl wants me, you're just a pathetic little girl that thinks she's special!"
Jen started gathering up a large ball of fire hoping to stop Darkstars attack when she heard a familiar beeping and the flashing of red light, without thinking she quickly threw her gathered up fire right at Nastu, "Hey whats the big idea, I'm on your side"
"Just eat it!" Jen yelled before she was engulfed in flash of red and returned back to her original self, "Come on Omnitrix, this is literally the worst time ever to time out" Jen shook the Omnitrix but only got a low beep as a response.
Natsu began eating the fireball with gusto, "I still think it tastes a bit odd but now i'm all fired up, let's end this thing blondi!"
"I agree, prepare to face the wrath of Darkstar!" Michael launched the massive ball of energy straight down towards the town.
Natsu widened his stance before taking in a big breath, "Fire dragon's roar?" He yelled as he let out a massive wave of concentrated flames, the flames met the ball of energy and for a moment the two forces struggled against each but the ball of dark energy broke past the torrent of flames, "Damnit that was all the juice I had!" Natsu punched a wall in frustration.
Jen frantically fiddled with the Omnitrix seeing the impending doom she let out a growl of anger before hitting the watch off the wall of a building, that appeared to make a difference as the watch itself began glowing green, "INITIATING RECALABRATION TO COUNTER EXCESS ENERGY LEVELS" the computerised voice chirped as the watch morphed into a sleak and somewhat familiar form, the glow had subsided and Jen saw the Omnitrix now looked as it did when it first recalibrated but now the green and black had swapped positions.
"This better work now" Jen slammed down on the dial not even looking at the selected alien, she just hoped it would be something that could stop the impending ball of doom, in a flash of green light Jen was transformed into a tall purple rocky alien with one eye and a large horn upon its head, "Chromastone, yeah ok this could work, Natsu i need you to throw me directly at that scary dark ball!"
"you're completely mad, I love it!" Natsu grabbed the alien and chucked it high into the air where it collided with the energy ball.
The foce of the sphere was immense as its incredible power began flowing into Jen, if felt like pressure building up beneath her skin she could feel cracks forming on her rocky exterior, "Come on Jenny just a little more" she remembered her parents, grandpa Max, her cousin Gwen , her best friend Kevin and Rook her newly assigned partner, there were too many people waiting for her back home for her to fail here and with one last shout of determination she absorbed the entire blast before unleashing it all back at Darkstar in a rainbow coloured fury.
Jen hit the ground hard before timing out in a flash of red, she barely had time to think before Natsu ran past dragging Lucy by the hand and picked her up like a sack of potatoes, Jen looked as a large group of armed men where chasing them, "is that the army!?"
"don't worry about it, Lucy you wanted to join Fairy Tail right, so lets go" Nastu laughed "and Jen you're way to fun to not bring along" Jen couldn't help but break out into laughter as well, maybe things aren't so bad in this world.
Hiya author here, im gonna be rewriting this fic im gonna leave the og up just incase anyone really likes it but i just think i can do a better job at this fic now
