Summary:

Yunjin turns her head and tilts up to press a quick kiss to Kazuha’s cheek. “If you get Soobin to let you borrow his truck, we could even open up the back and cuddle.”

“Hold on.” Kazuha pretends to make a move to get up. “I’m gonna sprint over to his house right now. I’ll steal that dumbass truck if I have to.”

Work Text:

“Psst.”

Kazuha opens her eyes, all at once greeted by Yunjin’s upside-down frowny face with sunbeams swimming all around.

Kazuha melts apart, her heart achey in her chest.

Angel. All mine.

“Hi, princess.” She puckers up, asking for a kiss while still laying down.

“Are you running away from me?” Yunjin ignores her.

Kazuha snorts.

“Yes.” She replies, smirking that charming, troublemaker smile. “I was hiding from you because you’re so pretty, and I’m scared.”

Yunjin rolls her eyes.

“Asshole. ” She whacks Kazuha’s head with some rolled-up paper she’s holding, and it makes a flimsy sound. “I’m mad at you, you know. You didn’t kiss me hello.” She punctuates her complaint with a sad pout, shoulders sagging as she plops back to sit on her heels.

“Princess,” Kazuha sits up, hair a tiny bit disheveled in the spot where Yunjin gave her a thwack. “I knocked on the door but you told me to go away.”

“I was doing something important with Chaewon-unnie!” Yunjin defends. “You should’ve tried harder.”

Kazuha huffs her signature broody laugh; the one that comes from her slanted, gruff smile and has made Yunjin’s knees weak since the first time she saw it.

The Japanese girl reaches for her girlfriend’s hips, tugging her closer.

“I should’ve, huh? You’re so right, princess.” She mumbles, more lips than teeth showing, her voice spotted with that slight gravelly texture that sets Yunjin’s heart on fire and drives her up the wall.

Kazuha plants a kiss on the special soft spot below Yunjin’s left ear.

“Forgive me. Pretty please?”

Yunjin can’t help the way her breath hitches quietly, a broken little whine tumbling out of her like when she grumbles in physical pain. Damn Kazuha and her stupid sweet-voice. She knows just how to work Yunjin to get her to crumble up and cave.

“Shut up.” The older girl gripes, seemingly mean, but she’s using her fingers to nudge Kazuha’s jaw into place.

Kazuha smiles, eyes fluttering closed as the two of them lean in and share a gentle kiss.

Yunjin pulls away first, play-shoving Kazuha’s shoulder.

“Stop distracting me.” She scolds. “I was trying to show you something.”

Kazuha laughs again. “What’s up princess?”

Yunjin holds up the wrinkled piece of paper in her hand. “Guess what they’re playing at the drive-in?”

“Hmm… Tangled?” Kazuha pitches.

“Not funny.” Yunjin scowls at her.

“What?! You love that movie!” Kazuha protests.

“Yes, but you’re making fun of me because I cried at it last time!”

“I would never,” Kazuha feigns offense by pressing a hand to her chest, but they can both tell she’s hiding a smile, which completely gives her away.

“Douchebag.” Yunjin insults, pulling away from Kazuha and crossing her arms. “Now I’m not gonna tell you what it is.”

“Nooooo,” Kazuha reaches for her girlfriend’s hips again, trying to pull her in. “Baby, no. Please tell me.”

Yunjin turns her head away, upholding her resolve and not looking at Kazuha.

“Princess, I’m sorryyyy. Please look at me.” The younger girl grumbles.

From where Kazuha can’t see, Yunjin bites her lip, smiling. Oh how she absolutely loved when Kazuha started begging and whining and pouting. She’d always try to keep her cool until the very last second, her voice still-husky and demeanor apparently undeterred, but Yunjin could always tell. Kazuha would get this special twinkle in her eye and her lips would start twitching downwards into a soft pout. Her words lost their edge—to be fair, the edge was never really there, though, at least not when she’s speaking to Yunjin, but Yunjin just means that Kazuha would stop sounding like she held any real authority—and she started to ache for Yunjin’s touch in any way she could get. A hand-hold. A caress on her tummy. A backhug.

Yunjin can’t help how much she likes it. Seeing the town’s moody badass dissolve into a mushy puppy, just for her, blew up her ego to the size of a hot air balloon.

“You have to understand, angel. It’s just that I’m having withdrawals.” Kazuha says.

Yunjin’s forehead creases, intrigue tickling her to look at Kazuha fully.

“Withdrawals?” She probes.

“Yeah, withdrawals.” Kazuha replies. “You’re just so far away, it’s making me act out.” She pulls Yunjin closer by the hips. “Y’know, maybe if you were closer, I’d feel better.”

“Oh yeah?” Yunjin smirks at the playful attitude, mildly impressed by Kazuha’s conjured explanation. “You think so?”

“Mhm.” Kazuha affirms. She opens up her own legs a bit then tugs Yunjin to sit in between them, her back to Kazuha’s front.

Kazuha lets her arms dangle off of Yunjin’s shoulders and she kisses her hair.

“Much better.” The Japanese girl sighs. “I should be behaving way better now, princess.”

Yunjin giggles, leaning back into her girlfriend’s embrace and hugging Kazuha’s arms around her.

“Really? Let’s hope so.” She plays along.

“Yes, ma’am.” Kazuha nuzzles her nose against Yunjin’s neck, resting her chin on Yunjin’s shoulder.

“Can you tell me the movie now, please?” She asks cutely.

Yunjin’s heart pitter-patters with pink rain that has Kazuha’s face on it, and she un-crumples the flyer she is still holding.

“Paranormal Activity.” She says, pointing to the title. “This Friday night. We should totally go, Zuzu.”

“Paranormal Activity?!” Kazuha gawks, sitting up a bit. “Angel, you hate that movie. The format freaks you out.”

“I know, I know, baby.” Yunjin explains. “But I’d feel less scared at the drive-in since there’s so many people and it’s bright. Plus, I have you there to protect me.” She turns her head and tilts up to press a quick kiss to Kazuha’s cheek. “If you get Soobin to let you borrow his truck, we could even open up the back and cuddle.”

“Hold on.” Kazuha pretends to make a move to get up. “I’m gonna sprint over to his house right now. I’ll steal that dumbass truck if I have to.”

Yunjin belts out a laugh, yanking on Kazuha’s arm then smacking it. It’s her big, bright laugh she busted into when she thought something was really really funny, and it makes Kazuha’s butterflies flutter, her cheeks blooming pink and proud. Her girlfriend’s face in these moments, wide and alight with unrestricted joy and fun, are some of Kazuha’s favorites. She loved seeing Yunjin be the sunshine of the room.

The sun protects the world, and I protect the sun.

Kazuha smiles, big and scrunchy, falling into a full lovestruck-giggle-mode while she watches her girlfriend.

Yunjin wipes away a stray tear, forcing her own laughter to dwindle down. She leans into Kazuha fully, grinning when Kazuha wraps her up and kisses her head.

“I wanna bring our matching Halloween pajamas, too. Oh! And our plushies.” Yunjin gushes enthusiastically, tapping her chin with a pucker of her lips. “Maybe I could even make those ghost cupcakes I saw the other night… hmm…”

Matching pajamas. Plushies. “Spooky” cupcakes, and probably a whole entire pillow fort that Kazuha knows for a fact Yunjin will ask her to build.

The Japanese girl scoffs, hugging her girlfriend closer and sulking.

“I can’t believe you’re making me be a corny ass loser at the drive-in, for the whole town to see.” She grumbles into Yunjin’s sweater.

Yunjin rolls her eyes. “If it bothers you so much, I can find someone else inst—yah!” She cuts off mid-sentence with a squeamish yelp, fully interrupted by Kazuha play-biting her neck.

“Don’t start with me.” The younger girl warns, and Yunjin would be undeniably worked up from her words—as well as from the strong grip Kazuha has on her, biceps halfway at full-power and jutting out—if it weren’t for the fact that the both of them are laughing.

Screw Halloween, Yunjin thinks. Jealous Kazuha is the biggest treat of all.
