Chapter 1: The Devil's Roll Call

Chapter Text

*Warner's pov*

The Devil's Roll Call.

I hate my life.
The only good thing in my life is my Juliette and even she has been torn from my grasp. Alas, I must wait until tomorow to see her.
In the meantime, I must try to survive.

"How was your flight?" I don't bother smiling, my father will find another reason to beat me later.

Nazeera looks like she wants to disembowl me.
Her hair is a heaped mess onto of her head, her jeans are wet with rain, her hoodie that speaks for too much attention than necessary, says: HELLO KITTY with so many wrinkles you'd think her maid hadnt freshly ironed it in the morning.
Goodnight Miss kitty, I want to say; get out of my house, you fowl excuse for a kitten. She's half human. She should be working.

"Fuck you, Warner." She hisses as she pushes past me and slumps onto the dining room chair.
I almost smile.

Haider walks past, holding half of Nazeera's bags and another bunch for his stupid dog, Tiana Tiramasu Ibrahim.
I don't know why it has such an extravagant name. It is a dog, it should be called a dog.
"Hello." He gives me a weary smile.
I nod and lead them inside, I won't bother with formalities for the rest of them. I could care less, and Juliette was asking about monkeys yesterday. I want to see if the pet shop has monkeys. They are unnecessary, but if my love wants them, she will have them.

The rest of the children fo the Supreme Commanders come in, looking dishevelled as ever.
The only one who even remotely looks adequate is Haider. A phrase I had never believed I would get the mercy of saying.

"You all will be attending the school of Omega, is that correct?"
"The school of Omega. Pft." Lena mocks.

I hope Lena dies.
Everyone else just nods and goes to eating. The maids have made white alfredo pasta. Its nice. I don't like it.

"I can't wait to see all of you at school." Nazeera says sarcastically, "Seeing you guys every other month wasnt enough already."
She acts dull and quiet. But I can feel the energy vibrating off her. Shes elated, excited for no apparently reason.

I was always closer with Nazeera and Haider, but that was mainly becuase Haider was too loud and stupid as a child and Nazeera, despite how she behaves, loved him too much to let him get beat for his own actions.

Haider's always had his problems, but out of all them I think he is better. A little bit.
He reminds me of Kishimoto. Not that I give importnace to him. Nor I think about him, ever, except for when I think of my love Juliette and how I hate him.
Kenji is annoying, like Haider. But at least Haider is dignified.

And just as that thought escapes the crevice of my mind, Haider leans over to Valentina and ends up spilling a drop of the cream pasta sauce onto his crimson waistcoat.
To think I must endure the school building for seven hours a day where they will all be invading my personal circle is a dreadful dream I dare not let myself collapse into.
Alas, I have nothing to do but remain civil and nod a 'farewell' as we part once again.
