Chapter Text
She is sitting on a bench and waiting. It is too hot to be wearing a snow hat. She wears one anyway. No matter how many passersby look at her, she has to stay in the role. Stay inconspicuous. Invisible. Blend in. Too much is riding on it. Decades of planning that will go to waste if she takes it off.
So she doesn’t.
The time is right for the next phase of her keikaku. She gets up, takes a step forward and stops on top of the designated spot marked by a squashed bubblegum that looks like an upside-down toilet horn. No one would ever suspect it was planted there by her people. She waits there for the Roya taco to arrive.
It soon does, and splashes across her hat. Mayonnaise, cheddar and fresh bindum flow down her hair. She hates bindum. Not because of the taste, but because of how difficult milking zap zaps is.
Somewhere above her, she hears a distant cry of a broke student filled with food regret. He played his part in the keikaku and now she has no need of him anymore. Her assassins will take care of him later tonight. No loose ends.
Nivora glances into the nearby bushes. From there Ramirez Cuan Iglesias Maria Gonzales inconspicuously looks at her from under his bright red Fractsidus sombrero. He nods at her, confirming that it was him who coated the taco shell with slippery fish oil. She nods back. Another piece of the puzzle falls into place. She enjoys working with professionals. Her assassins will revoke his Lahai Roi visa later today. No loose ends.
Some students laugh at her when she walks into the park with the taco on her head. They don’t know that they are also playing their part in the keikaku. Just as she knew they would.
In a remote corner of the park she opens a hatch, triggering a miniature camera that scans her fake irises. The profile is a match. Another hatch opens, and out of it comes an inconspicuous red briefcase with Fractsidus logo on it. After ten years of waiting, it is now also part of the keikaku.
She opens the briefcase, enters her code and sets the timer. The remains of the taco fall down into the mess of wires within the briefcase. She smiles and steps back.
The timer is running. The nuclear bomb inside the briefcase is small, but in five minutes it will turn Lahai Roi into a puddle of glass buried beneath the ice. She steps back and waits. Nivora can’t resist rubbing her hands, so she rubs her hands.
Minutes go by. The timer goes down to two minutes. Then there is a movement inside a nearby trashcan. A rat pokes out its head and sniffs the air. Its name is Nuk Difuser. It’s genetically engineered to be as smart as a dumb possum and it loves bindum. She knows this because she put it in that trashcan.
Nuk Difuser scuttles over to the briefcase filled with five pounds of refined uranium. There are one hundred cables inside of it. Chew through ninety-nine of them and the bomb explodes. Chew through the remaining one and it will be as harmless as five pounds of refined uranium can be.
Nuk Difuser knows which wire is the right one. She knows this because she trained it.
It finds it and munches on the sweet bindum-coated rubber. The timer goes down until Nuk’s teeth nibble away the last remaining strands of copper. When the timer stops, the screen says one second left.
Nivora rubs her hands again. She is one step closer to her end goal now. Nuk Difuser doesn’t know that her trained hawk Nuk Difuser Iter will take care of it later. No loose ends.
She wishes Rover was here to see her keikaku in action. No reason not to check on him.
Rover is sleeping in his twenty foot wide water bed when she teleports to him. All his two dozen wives are around him. Together they are making the bed look like a pile of gummy bears coated with baby oil. Phrolova is also there, playing the world’s smallest violin, looking at them through the window that is left cracked open just for her.
When she sees Rover’s defenseless sleeping form, she wishes she could kill him then and there. Unfortunately Rover never rests, never loses focus, never shows fear. Even now his snores are mocking her to try and kill him. She doesn’t make that mistake.
For now the keikaku must continue.
She teleports to a little known city in New Federation. There is nothing interesting there except an aquarium that’s about to host a dolphin show. Nivora takes a bucket full of fish and an inflatable ball that her minions prepared for her.
She emerges from behind a curtain to a cacophony of cheers from the audience that doesn’t yet suspect it is part of the keikaku. They will when they realize the free hotdogs they were given are laced with laxatives and a strong sedative. For now they cheer louder when a dolphin emerges from underneath the water in the pool.
Nivora throws it a rubber ball and the dolphin, whose name is Bal Balanser, balances it on its nose. Its cheerful ack-acks are a sign it doesn’t know that when the show is over her assassins will smuggle it into a canned tuna factory.
No loose ends.
