Chapter Text
Toya was bored.
To be fair, he was normally bored.
He was the son of one of the most famous fashion designers. When he was old enough, he was asked by his father to model. Obviously, he accepted.
It turned out, it was the last thing he wanted.
Yes, he made money, and yes, he had fame. But Toya wanted something more than that.
Freedom.
But the emotional talks can wait.
Today, he decided to just go for a walk. Maybe he would find something interesting. As he was walking down the sidewalk, he started thinking.
He was supposed to model a new outfit for his dad today. He said no. He doesn't say no a lot. his dad got mad, of course.
He was walking past the usually empty soccer field when he heard yelling. He looked over, curious.
Unlike usual, soccer players covered the field. Running, yelling, kicking. But one boy caught his eye.
Ginger hair, with one yellow streak. Beautiful green eyes that sparkled in the sun. A fiery attitude Toya could see in his playing. He seemed to be doing most of the work, scoring the majority of the goals and rarely passing.
Toya sat on a nearby bench, watching the game for maybe 40 minutes. The team went on a break, regrouping near Toya. He saw the ginger boy get scolded by the coach.
"Akito!" He heard the coach yell. "You have to pass the ball! Soccer is a team sport, and you can't carry this whole game yourself!"
Toya saw the boy sigh and roll his eyes. "Sorry coach." He responded, with a lot of sass in his voice. "You've gotta get the rest of the team to do something or I'm gonna have to carry it. You said winning was priority, who the hell cares if I do it myself?" Toya noticed the ginger glance at him. The coach sighed.
"Fine. Just pass the ball at least twice these next couple games." The coach walked off, and the orange haired boy groaned.
He glanced at Toya again before walking over and leaning against a nearby wall. Toya froze before the other boy spoke.
"Whatcha starin at, slacker? I don't have time for the chitchat, so keep ya eyes on the field."
Toya nodded, and the boy sighed and walked out on the field. It seemed the break was over.
~*^*~
The game ended, and Toya sat up from his bench before anyone could talk to him. He still felt..guilty? Weird? Upset? Something about the earlier conversation.
He wasn't ready to go home. He could only imagine the punishment he'll get from his dad.
Before he could leave, someone tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around, expecting someone who wanted an autograph or recognized him.
Instead, it was the orange-haired boy from earlier. He looked tired, sweating and slightly out of breath.
"Yo." Toya waved in response. "Sorry for being...kind of a bitch earlier.." He scratched the back of his neck. "Are you..uh..gonna be back?"
Toya nodded.
"Oh." The boy relaxed."Well, I'll be playing like..uh..maybe same time tomorrow. You can pop by if you want." Toya noticed the tip of the ginger's ears get red. "By the way, the names Akito."
Toya nodded again. "My name is Toya Aoyagi. It's nice to meet you." Toya smiled the same, practiced smile he did for photoshoots.
Akito nodded. "So..uh..see you tomorrow?"
"See you tomorrow." Toya waved before walking off.
He sighed. He still didn't want to go home. He wanted to stay. But he had to eventually.
Against his wishes, he started walking home.
Once he arrived, he went straight to his room. Luckily, his dad wasn't around, so he got lucky.
He put pajamas on, and went to bed.
~*^*~
When he woke up in the morning, he had to rush out of the house. He promised Akito he'd be there for his game.
He grabbed some toast, grabbed a jacket, and-
"Toya."
He heard his dad's voice, and turned around.
"Where were you yesterday?"
"At the soccer field."
His dad sighed. "Stay away from there. Everyone will ruin your career. I don't care if you go out, but stay away."
Toya nodded, and left.
Guess where he was going?
He felt bad for disobeying his dad, but he had things to do.
He ran to the soccer field, and by the time he got there, he was out of breath and panting.
Toya looked around, and saw Akito's team get ready to head out. I made it, he thought.
He sat down on the same bench as last time he was here, and grabbed a book.
Toya mainly wasn't paying attention, so when the game ended, he didn't really notice.
He heard someone shout his name, and looked up to see who.
To no ones surprise, it was Akito.
"Yo." The orange haired boy said, panting.
Toya waved back. "Do you wanna sit down?" He asked.
Akito nodded, before sitting next to him.
"Dude, you actually showed?" The ginger said.
Toya nodded. "It would be disrespectful not to, wouldn't it?"
"I mean, not really. It's just a game. Not gonna lie, I didn't even expect you to show up. But anyway, what are you reading?"
Toya lit up. "Oh! Its called Knights of Keys, its about 7 knights, and they are all trying to explore the world and help this king make a map, but the two main characters slowly fall in love with each other, but they don't notice until they get left in a cave together, and right now that's all I've read."
Toya looked over at the boy next to him, and noticed he seemed to actually be interested.
Akito yawned. "That's pretty cool! Keep me updated, 'kay?" Akito winked and did finger guns. Toya chuckled at the silly act.
"I'm gonna go walk, do you wanna join?" Toya asked, probably dying from embarrassment. He wanted to hang out with the boy, but how else was he supposed to ask?
"Sure." Akito yawned again, before standing up and stretching, a few of his joints popping in the process.
Toya's eyes widened a little. He was sure Akito would say that was weird, or no, or just run and never talk to him ever again. Shortly after Akito stood up, Toya did too, with a giddy smile on his face. "Lets go."
So they walked.
They talked, joked, laughed, and more. Toya enjoyed it.
He enjoyed it a lot.
But before he knew it, the sun was setting.
"Damn." Akito said. "Time flew. Wanna watch the sunset? I hear it looks phenomenal from here." Toya nodded, and they sat on a nearby rock.
"Wow..." Toya muttered under his breath.
About 30 minutes later, he heard snoring. It was light, but Toya could still hear it.
He looked to his side, and noticed Akito had fallen asleep on his shoulder.
He smiled, before grabbing his book again. It wouldn't hurt to let the boy sleep for a while, he could be tired.
