Work Text:
This whole thing is stupid. Here Akito is, in a circle with his dear friends and, for some reason, the entire troupe of WonderlandsxShowtime, playing dumb party games at Emu’s house (more like mansion). He’s not sure why he even agreed to this in the first place, everything about it sounded miserable. But between Toya’s puppy eyes and An’s endless pestering, he finally caved. And he was right. It’s just as dumb as it sounded.
“An, truth or dare?” Emu asks excitedly. An grins and thinks for a moment.
“Dare. Bring it on!”
Akito rolls his eyes. He couldn’t care less about truth or dare, but his group mates refused to let him sit out. He sighs as he watches An try and fail miserably to juggle some plastic bowling pins. He has to admit it’s a little bit funny to watch her struggle so much, at least.
“Alright, that’s enough of that. It’s my turn now.” She turns to Akito with a mischievous grin. “Akito, truth or dare?”
“Pass.” Akito replies bluntly. An pouts.
“You can’t pass! Truth or dare?”
He groans. “Fine. Dare.”
An slowly grins, grabbing one of the bowling pins she was attempting to juggle moments prior. “I dare you to play 7 minutes in heaven with whoever this pin lands on when you spin it.”
Akito scowls. “No way.”
“What, too chicken for it?”
He narrows his eyes. An narrows hers right back. He’s not stupid, he knows what she’s doing. But unfortunately for him, his competitive nature is far stronger than his desire to not be involved.
“Fine. Give me that thing.” He takes the pin, setting it in the center of the circle and spinning it. The group watches in anticipation as it slows to a stop on…
Himself.
“Oh, look at that. Guess I have to go sit in a closet alone for 7 minutes.”
The room bursts into chatter, complaints being shot left and right about how ‘that’s not fair!’ And ‘he needs to redo’. Akito groans.
“Fine! Okay, I’ll respin it!” He cries out, spinning the stupid bowling pin again. At this point he doesn’t even care who it lands on, he just wants to get this over with. At least, that’s what he thinks until the pin stops spinning and lands right on Tsukasa Tenma. Great.
There’s a chorus of ‘oooooh’ around the room and Akito flushes an angry red. An quickly ushers them into the closet and slams the door with a quick “have fun!” The speed at which it all happened left Akito stumbling forward, right into Tsukasa’s chest. He quickly pushes himself upright, pressing back against the closet door to leave as much space between them as he can in this tiny room.
“What’s wrong, Akito?” Tsukasa says in a tone that he can’t quite read. “You seem nervous.”
“Psh, me? Nervous? As if. I just don’t want to be doing this stupid shit in the first place.”
Tsukasa steps forward, crowding into Akito’s personal space. Akito sucks a sharp breath in at their sudden closeness, not taking his eyes off of Tsukasa’s.
“You know you could’ve said no.” He feels a pair of hands rest on his hips, and he’s suddenly pulled flush against his senior’s body. His eyes widen, and he quickly scans across Tsukasa’s face. “But you’re too competitive for that, aren’t you?”
Akito wants to wipe that stupid smirk off his face. But at the moment, he’s frozen, unable to even think enough to make a move. Tsukasa leans closer, just inches away from Akito now. His eyes flicker down to his lips briefly, and Akito can feel the way his breath hitches.
“You’re going to see this through, aren’t you?” He says smugly.
Akito surges forward, the only thing on his mind being to shut him up. He presses his lips against Tsukasa’s, pushing the other forward until he’s pressed against the back wall of the closet. Tsukasa stumbles back, his grip tightening on Akito to keep him close against him. Akito places a hand behind his head to prevent it from hitting against the wall, and his fingers tangle slightly into Tsukasa’s hair. Tsukasa lets out a soft breath against Akito’s mouth at the action, and it’s far too natural the way Akito slips his tongue into his mouth. Tsukasa groans quietly, his own tongue pressing against Akito’s.
It occurs to Akito faintly in the back of his mind that this is much farther than a dare should go, but he doesn’t let the thought linger as he focuses on the boy falling apart beneath his touch. He pulls back just enough to trail kisses down to his neck, nipping slightly at the skin until it reddens.
“A-ah~ Akito-“ Tsukasa breaths out, tightening his grip on Akito’s hips. Akito’s hand slides out of his hair and down his back, resting on the spot just above his tailbone. He trails further down, using his other hand to tug Tsukasa’s collar out of the way and biting down on his collarbone. Tsukasa gasps, bringing a hand up to cover his mouth, and Akito glances up at him with a smirk.
“Not so high and mighty anymore, are we now?” Akito mutters against his skin, and he revels in the way Tsukasa shudders. He bites down on another spot, dragging his tongue across it to soothe the skin. Tsukasa lets out another soft sound at the action, his body shaking slightly against Akito.
Akito moves back up and captures Tsukasa’s lips into another open-mouthed kiss. Tsukasa’s hands begin feeling around Akito’s torso, slipping up underneath his shirt and rubbing up and down his sides. Akito groans softly into his mouth, rubbing circles on the small of Tsukasa’s back.
Tsukasa suddenly pushes his hips forward, an action that causes Akito to gasp in surprise. He grabs Tsukasa’s hips, gripping them tightly. He hears the start of an apology before he roughly grinds his hips forward, causing both of them to groan. He looks up at Tsukasa with lidded eyes, and the pure bliss on Tsukasa’s face almost causes him to snap.
“Times up!”
The door is suddenly thrown open and Akito basically flings himself off of Tsukasa, whipping his head to look over at An. She looks between the two, scanning each of them over, and the realization of what just happened really strikes Akito. He slowly looks over at Tsukasa, who’s rapidly looking between him and An. An whistles, snapping Akito out of his petrified state.
“Damn, I didn’t actually expect you two to do anything-“
“I’m leaving.” Akito suddenly pushes past An, grabbing his overnight back and slinging it over his shoulder.
“Hey- wait- don’t be a party pooper!”
“I’m leaving.” Akito glares at her with such an intense stare that An actually shrinks down a bit, merely nodding as Akito practically storms out of the room. Once he’s out of the house and away from everyone, he hides his face in his hands and screams. He’s not sure how he can ever show his face at school again after today, nor is he sure if he can ever look Tsukasa in the face.
He doesn’t sleep much that night, the scene replaying in his head over and over again. He can’t stop thinking about the way Tsukasa’s lips felt against his. He bites his lip, shoving his face into his pillow. The desperate sounds escaping from Tsukasa ring in his ears, and he groans in frustration, rolling over to his other side. He’s not sure why he can’t stop thinking about it. Hell, he’s not sure why he did it in the first place.
It’s no secret that Tsukasa is attractive. You’d have to be a fool not to see it, and Akito is no fool. But he never expected to find himself in that situation, with Tsukasa’s body pressed against him, and those pretty noises that he was able to cause. And now, he’s not sure how he can face him normally. He’s not sure how he can face any of them at all.
~
Akito skips school the next day. And the next. In fact, he doesn’t go to school for a whole 3 days before An finally reaches out to him. He ignores her messages at first, but that became gradually harder when she started spam calling him. He bitterly rolls over and presses answer.
“What do you want.”
“What do I want? Dude, you haven’t been to school in like 3 days. Where the hell are you?”
“Sick.”
“No you’re not. You’re avoiding Tsukasa.”
Akito hesitates, which is more than enough of an answer for An.
“Unfortunately for you, he’s been looking for you.”
“He’s what?!” Akito sits up, his phone flying off the bed. He scrambles to retrieve it, staring at it as though An can see him through the screen.
“Well duh. You can’t just make out with someone in a closet and then ghost them for 3 days, Akito.”
“Shit! What do I do?!”
An snorts. “I don’t know. See what he wants, probably.”
“An this isn’t funny what do I do.”
“Dude, chill out. Do you want me to come over or something?”
“…yes, please.”
“I’ll be there in 10.”
The wait for An is the longest 10 minutes of Akito’s life. He paces around his room, opening and closing Tsukasa’s contact multiple times until he finally hears a knock on the door. He throws it open, yanking An inside and slamming the door shut. An stumbles a little.
“Woah, chill out. He’s not gonna, like, stalk you or anything.”
“You don’t know that.”
“You’re too paranoid.” An sighs, sitting down on the couch. “Now let’s figure out what to do so you can go back to living like a normal teenager.”
“Do you know what he wants?” Akito asks.
An shakes her head. “No, just that he’s been asking around for you. And he looks really disappointed every time someone says you’re not here.”
Akito feels a twinge of guilt. “Does he hate me?”
“Why do you care?”
“I don’t.” He lies.
“Uh huh. And if I said he does?”
Akito can feel the way his heart drops. It must show on his face, too, because An bursts into laughter. “I’m kidding, dude. I don’t think he hates you if he’s been asking to see you.”
“So… what do I do?”
“Well, do you like him?”
“What?! No, I-“ he hesitates.
“What about this. If it were anybody besides Tsukasa in that closet with you, would the same thing be happening right now?”
It doesn’t take much thought for Akito to shake his head. An smirks a little, but for once she doesn’t poke fun at him.
“Then I think that’s your answer.”
“I-“ He doesn’t want to admit that she might be right. But what other explanation is there? If it were anyone else in that closet, he probably would’ve brushed them off and sat there for the whole 7 minutes. But he didn’t do that when it was Tsukasa. And that must mean something.
“Just talk to him, Akito. It can’t be as bad as you’re making it out to be in your head.”
Akito sighs in defeat. “Fine…”
~
Akito is dragging his feet the whole walk to school. He’s trailing behind Toya, gradually straying farther and farther back the closer they get to the school. Toya looks back at Akito with a sigh.
“You can’t ignore him forever, Akito. At some point you’re going to have to face this.”
“I think I’d rather be buried alive.”
“Unfortunately for you, that’s not an option.” Toya grabs Akito by his wrist, practically dragging him through the gates. Akito is about to voice his complaints when he catches a glimpse of a specific blond, shutting him up immediately.
Tsukasa is looking around, scanning through the crowds. His gaze lands on Akito, and they lock eyes for a brief moment before Akito looks away, heat rushing to his face. All of the memories of their prior hangout come flooding back to him, and he tries to make himself as small as possible. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to work as Tsukasa makes a beeline right for the two of them.
“Hello, Tsukasa-senpai.” Toya greets.
“Hello, Toya! Would you mind if I steal Akito away for just a moment?” Akito tenses at the mention of his name, and shoots a silent pleading look to Toya.
“Of course not, I must be getting to the library soon anyways. I’ll see you later, Akito.”
Akito glares as Toya walks away, leaving the two of them alone. After what feels like ages, he finally turns his attention to the boy in front of him.
“Hey…..” he says awkwardly.
“You weren’t at school these past few days.” Tsukasa steps closer, examining him. “Are you sick?”
Akito clears his throat. “N-no, I was just….” He trails off. “Did you need something?”
“I think we both know what I’m here to discuss.”
The air is tense and thick, so much so that Akito feels like he’s suffocating. “R-right…”
A silence falls between them, and Akito suddenly finds the ground to be the most interesting thing in the world.
“Did that… mean anything to you?” Tsukasa finally asks, causing Akito to look up at him. Tsukasa is looking away, fiddling with his hands nervously.
“What… do you mean?” Akito says slowly.
“I mean…” he hesitates, before shaking his head. “Never mind. It was a silly question anywa-“
“It did.”
Tsukasa looks up at Akito, surprise written all over his face. “What?”
Akito swears under his breath. “It meant something to me.” He refuses to meet Tsukasa’s eyes, his face a deep cherry red.
“O-oh…”
Here it comes, Akito thinks. Here’s the part where I get hurt. He squeezes his eyes shut, willing the stinging in them to go away when he feels two hands envelop his own. He looks up, meeting Tsukasa’s surprisingly soft gaze.
“It meant something to me too…” he whispers. Akito gapes at him, his brain refusing to process the words.
“W-wha-“
Tsukasa takes a deep breath, giving Akito’s hands a squeeze. “I…” for the first time in his life, Tsukasa seems to be struggling to speak. “I want to be more than friends.”
The words hang heavy in the air for a few seconds, Akito staring at Tsukasa with his mouth hanging open. This was the last thing he was expecting to happen. If anything, he was prepared for Tsukasa to hate him and never want to see him again.
Tsukasa laughs suddenly, retracting his hands. “I-I’m kidding! Totally kidding haha…” He looks around nervously.
“Tsukasa.”
The aforementioned boy freezes, looking at Akito almost frightfully. There’s a beat of silence while Akito attempts to gather his thoughts.
“I want that too…” He says after a moment. Tsukasa’s eyes widen and he flushes a pretty red color.
“W-wha- really?!”
Akito shrugs, looking away with a flush. “I wouldn’t’ve made out with you if I didn’t mean something behind it…”
He hears the way Tsukasa’s breath hitches, and he can’t help but sneak a glance at him. His eyes are wide, that cute blush covering most of his face now. All of the feelings Akito has been suppressing down are suddenly at the forefront of his mind, and he can’t help but admire how pretty Tsukasa looks when he’s flustered.
“O-oh…”
“Can I kiss you again?” Akito asks suddenly. The words surprise even him, and he immediately backtracks. “I-I mean- uh-“
“Please,” Tsukasa breaths out, effectively shutting Akito up. He stares at him for a few shocked seconds, before he slowly leans forward.
Tsukasa meets him halfway, pressing into a kiss Akito has longed for since the party. He sighs, finally relaxing for the first time in days. Tsukasa reaches up and cups his cheek, tilting his head into the kiss.
Akito could kiss him for hours, he thinks. He probably would, if it weren’t for the bell interrupting their moment. He pulls back with a groan, glaring at the building. Tsukasa giggles softly.
“We should get going…”
“Nah. I’d rather stay here and kiss you.” He leans forward again, only to be pushed away by a giggly Tsukasa.
“We have class, Akito.”
“Who cares?”
“I do. Now let’s go before we’re late.”
Akito sighs dramatically. “You’re making this up to me.”
“Oh? A date?”
Akito flushes, but nods regardless. “Yeah… meet me here after school.”
Tsukasa giggles, leaning over and pecking Akito’s cheek. “Deal. Now let’s get to class, silly.”
They walk together until they reach Akito’s classroom, at which point Tsukasa pulls him forward into another kiss. Akito can’t even hide his smile as he walks into class, ignoring the curious glances from his classmates and sitting down at his seat. Nene looks up from her gameboy, smirking a little.
“So, are you two finally official?”
“Shut it.”
“I’ll take that as a yes.”
Akito doesn’t bother correcting her. He doesn’t see a point, not when he’s about to go on a date with him this afternoon.
