Funny Thing About Fire

Summary:

Miles has always loved fire.

Notes:

This is the first thing I've posted to AO3 in a long time!
Unedited because I don't have a beta. I'm thinking about making this a series of drabbles but I am not sure yet.

Chapter Text

Miles always loved fire. It reminded him of family bonfires, of campfires at summer camp, of all the great memories he held onto from his childhood.

Funny thing about fire though… To someone it could bring back pleasant memories of starting into the flames watching them flicker in the wind as they drifted off to sleep, to others... Fire wasn't so nice. To some it meant remembering watching a house go up in smoke, wicked violently cracklings flames enveloping the building in minutes, no hope of saving it. Others it meant watching out the window of a car as the wildfires tried to chase down every last thing it could consume.

Miles didn't know the true power of fire, not until he joined the LSPD. The amount of power behind an explosion, the intensity of the heat of a burning building, the speed flames could overtake everything... Ruin lives.

Fire could be so dangerous but so beautiful, so mesmerizing. And even more dangerous when placed in the hands of the Fake AH Crew.

When he first started trying to take down the infamous crew he didn't know what to make of them. They couldn't catch them, couldn't pin almost anything on them, when they thought they had something the evidence or the files just seemed to... Disappear. Dirty cops were commonplace in Los Santos, it just made it that much more frustrating.

Even when they'd eventually catch one of them, the charges would be dropped and they'd be free to go. It would always be like this.

'Mogar' is the first one they catch- on an arson charge nonetheless- and as soon as he steps into the room Miles swear he had just met the human embodiment of fire. The curly haired kid spit curse words the way fire crackled and popped. You could feel his anger like the heat of flames.

He is dangerous like open flames burning bright, yet somehow, the most mesmerizing person he had ever laid eyes on.
