“How are you holding up Narancia?” Trish asked as she held open the shop door, so Narancia can pass through.
“Don’t worry about me, I’m fine Trish.” Narancia replied, trying not to make it obvious that he was indeed struggling carrying the various shopping bags.
“Mmm... alright, but just remember that I can at least carry some of the things.”
“I said i’m fine, no need to worry.” Narancia looked at Trish before exiting the candy shop, it’s as if he was telling her he was strong enough to handle it all. In return she gave a smile and they both made their way down the small shopping district.
As they made their way to the next shop, Trish couldn't help but look over her shoulder, making sure Narancia wouldn’t notice. She kept noticing how he was struggling to keep up at her pace, how he had to pause for a slight so he can get comfortable carrying all the bags and boxes of candy.
Trish sighed and walked back to him, “Come on, let me at least hold one thing.” Before Narancia could reply however, Trish took the big box of chocolates she had bought for Bucciarati’s near coming birthday. “Is that better?” she asked with a smile.
He couldn’t help but pout slightly as he looked at her, “I told you I was fine…” as he looked away however, he quietly said “Thank you.”
Trish thankfully managed to hear the low thank you, in return Trish giggled along with smile. “You’re welcome.”
As the two were walking together, side by side chatting and bonding. Out of nowhere, a man came up to Trish and complimented her, interrupting the conversation she was having with Narancia.
“Oh um...” She paused for a brief moment, Trish was used to compliments, but something about this person made her uneasy. Maybe it was because they came out of nowhere, interrupting the conversation she was just having. “Thank you...” she thought that maybe if she answered quickly, they would go away. That however didn’t work, the man stayed and decided to ask her various questions, overwhelming her in the process.
“Are you single? Do you have anyone you’re seeing at the moment?” They continued to pester her with the questions. Even though Trish can handle and defend for herself for some reason, she felt overwhelmed this time. Narancia noticed this however and decided to speak up, especially since he was getting greatly annoyed by this person.
“Sorry, but can’t you fucking see she clearly doesn’t want to talk with you?” he said bluntly, “Just go away already.”
Trish was a bit surprised, she’s was so used to standing up for herself that this was something new for her.
The person scoffed as he looked down at Narancia. “Sorry but I wasn’t talking to you shorty,” he turned to Trish whilst pointing at Narancia, “is this your little brother? Teach him manners will ya?” As the man laughed, Narancia’s spark fired, he officially hated this man.
Trish was now wide eyed, now not only was this man rude to Trish but now he was being rude to Narancia.
Before Narancia could even lay a finger on him, after he had carefully set the bags down on a nearby bench, Trish regained her composure and snapped at the man before Narancia could.
“Excuse me?” She said in a stern voice, “Sorry but he’s right, you’re completely rude and to think that you just said that to my close friend,” Trish raised her pointer finger and began to poke the man at the chest, “you heard that? FRIEND, not little brother! Anyways if he were my brother, he would be my OLDER BROTHER. Sorry but i'm not interested in you, so leave me ALONE.”
The man was caught by surprise, but before he could say anything back however, he noticed that people were now staring at them.
“Ugh, whatever…” He left quickly, both Trish and Narancia could tell he was greatly agitated. But they both assumed that maybe, he just wanted to avoid making a giant scene so that's why he left so suddenly. Either way they were glad he left them both alone before things got worse.

“Thanks for waiting,” Trish came back with two ice creams, one for herself and one for Narancia, “this is thank you for carrying my things and for helping me out with that guy earlier.” She handed him the cone, in which he gladly accepted. As she sat down next to Narancia, a sigh was heard from him.
“What's wrong?” She asked with a concerned face, “did I get the wrong flavor?”
“What?” He looked at Trish and then back at the ice cream, “N-no, it’s not that.” Narancia had something in his mind, Trish could tell.
“Then? What is it?” she asked as she took a bite from her ice cream.
“I... just didn’t feel very useful today, I tried to carry all your things but you ended up carrying something. Then that guy came out of nowhere and before I got a chance to kick his ass you did something about it and told him off.” He sighed once more and took a bite of the orange flavored ice cream, “I mean I’m happy you told him off but again, I just. I didn’t feel that useful today…” before he could take another bite, Trish giggled.
“Is that really it?” Trish looked at Narancia and smiled at him once they made eye contact, “Narancia you did more than enough today, you carried most of my bags which are obviously more heavy than a big box of chocolates. Not only that but you stood up for me when I didn’t knew what to say,” Trish gave him a playful nudge against his arm and smiled, “Thank you for today I really mean it, heck you do more than enough at times and it’s because of that I think of you as a brother.”
Narancia was happy to hear, more than happy, yet he was somewhat embarrassed from the kind words. He turned away before Trish could see the happy dorky face he was making, “Thanks Trish, You know I think of you as my own sister.” As he was about to take another bite from his ice cream, he heard Trish laughing.
“Huh? What's wrong?” He asked as he turned to face her.
“Your… pfft eye is twitching again.” Trish was careful trying not to laugh so loud in public, but once she pointed it out, Narancia too began to laugh as well.
“Hey next time, let's do this again okay? It was fun.”
“As long as you treat me to ice cream again.”
“Deal.”
