Probably one of my top five favorite fics. It's funny, has an interesting plot, and the formatting is super cool. The formatting was what got me interested in the first place, it's all reddit posts, chatlogs, emails, and voice memos.

Detroit: Become Human - Markus RK200/Connor RK800 - Mature
This fic is actually apart of a series (and it's a wonderful series) and I can't recommend it enough. I love this fic dearly.
Pedantic by ssjtrinity
Malevolent - John Doe/Arthur Lester - Mature
I only recently read this one, and hoo boy. This one is a roller-coaster from start to finish.
NDA, No Loose Lips by Illuminahsti
The Penumbra Podcast (junoverse) - Juno Steel/Peter Nureyev - Explicit
It's a sex comedy, it's celebrity/royal AU, it's fake dating. It feels slightly based around the same concepts as Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. I love it.

Explores a concept mentioned within canon that should explored more. It's really compelling, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

The Penumbra Podcast (junoverse) - Rita & Juno Steel - Teen
Angst, just straight angst (but there is a happy ending though). Juno fucked his head up with some tech, and is dealing with the repercussions. Really interesting concepts and ideas, made me wish it was canon. Will warn you, there is glitch/zalgo text used here (and may fuck with some screen readers and/or people who can't read fonts).

WOE.BEGONE - Ty Betteridge/Michael Walters - Teen
Cowboys getting drunk together and acknowledging their previous traumas with alternate versions of the other one (time travel and multiple Ty's and Mike's exist all at once). This is like the first baby steps on working on their trauma together. Very sweet, I love it.

Malevolent - Arthur Lester/Peter "Parker" Yang + The King in Yellow/Arthur Lester - Mature
Really really compelling concepts, I enjoyed this immensely. I always love a good magick-y spin on canon. It's also part of a series too, woohoo! Warnings for major character death.
Surrogate: The Director's Cut by Somniate, Kravia, and ssjtrinity,
Malevolent - The King in Yellow & Faroe Lester + Arthur Lester & John Doe - Mature
The series is linked rather than a specific fic, because there's 132 (and counting) works apart of it. Forced family because some gods weren't done with them yet. (There are some fics apart of this series with John Doe/Arthur Lester, but I put '&' due to the fact that most aren't slash).

These are not listed in order of which ones I like the most.
1. The Exchange by MissLearn
Great fix-it Star Wars fic. Solid characterization, excellent dialogue. I can hear the actors' voices coming off the page! Good storytelling: believable fix-it.
2. What they Wouldn't Do by Ashevillain
Awesome Daredevil fic. Characters are absolutely on-point and compelling. The villains are truly terrifying. Also, Lauren (OC) made me laugh aloud so many times!
3. we'll have the same dream by clarineta
I could see this actually happening after DD Season 3. Again, on-point characterization and dialogue. Very sweet fluff piece.
4. handpicked by smilebackwards
This one is so funny! Watching perfectionist Obi-Wan struggle with feeling passed over when he's actually the guy the clones now worship is funny and painful at the same time.
5. Dielectric Breakdown by Jessepinwheel
DB hurts in all the right ways. It's a coming-of-age story which rings so true and may even cause the reader to "go home and rethink his life." Very well-written. Painful; moving; excellent.
6. Recovery by Firondiel, happygiraffe, LuvEwan, and sanerontheinside
So, so so so good! Clearly, one or more of the authors knows someone who/personally lives in chronic pain/illness. Obi-Wan's journey after taking Maul's lightsaber for Qui-Gon is incredibly painful and difficut. I cried so much, reading this!
7. Four Christmases in Hell's Kitchen by Ashevillain
Companion one-shots to What They Wouldn't Do. Well-written and help the reader to understand the characters even better!

8. Catt Purrdock by ceterisparibus
This is a very funny serious-crack story about Matt Murdock as a cat. I quite enjoyed it.
9. Cat Purrdock by MissMoochy
Another amusing and well-being did about Murdock as a cat.
10. "Prompts" ---a Daredevil collection by ceterisparibus
An enjoyable and engaging series re-imagining some S3 events and character interactions. The author never bored the reader and knows the characters very wel! I haven't finished it yet, but I am going to keep reading.

It's an MHA fic where the cast watch their own show and read their own manga. It's super cool to me, and one of the first fanfics i truly enjoyed.

smut or not, the writing is just mwah!!! and the titles are super funny.

My personal all time favorite is a bandom texting story called "The Group chat Au nobody asked for" on here and it's the funniest thing I've literally ever read.
Also the sequel. I haven't finished it but it's great.

Okay, choosing just 10 will be hard, and it will be a variety of fandoms, but here's some fics I've really enjoyed. In no particular order here's my 10 recommends. The fandoms among this list are: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Genshin Impact, Star Trek: Voyager, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, Project Sekai, and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress.
Snowflakes and Aliens by Belle_Whistles
Fandom: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
So this is a series of one shots focused on the character Nagato Yuki post-The Disappearance. Majority are really well written character studies, and I adore how Belle writes Yuki. It also focuses on the Kyon/Yuki ship, but if you're not into shipping, at least read the first story in the series which works as a good standalone called "Mittens" if you just adore Nagato Yuki as a character.

Fandom: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Set during the Endless Eight, these are Yuki's internal observation data on the endless summer, and how she takes notice of Kyon's slightly varied behaviour -- particularly toward noticing she's been noticing. Platonic.
Beneath the Permafrost by BeneathAScorpionSky
Fandom: Genshin Impact
One of my favorite Genshin fanfics I have ever read. Platonic. Sibling relationship focused. After accidentally sending a gust of cryo into Traveler Lumine's eyes, she's temporarily blinded so Kaeya guides her back to Mondstadt and they run into Diluc there. You can just feel their estrangement, but my favorite part about this story is when Lumine tells Kaeya "I understand what it's like to have problems with a sibling". I just love how despite their different situations, Kaeya and Lumine have something they can relate to, and the last line of the story made my eyes water. So if you like ragbros and the main character twins, then you'll love this.
It's Time To Duel!"
Fandom: Genshin Impact
A hilarious 6-chaptered story about when two knights misunderstand what Cyno meant by saying he wanted to duel the Cavalry Captain. It's a really funny story that will have you laughing out loud, highly recommend if you love Cyno and/or Genius Invokation TCG. I thought everyone's voices were captured so well and even had a fun imagining on how characters get official cards of themselves.
Melting Heart by starlitstargirl
Fandom: Genshin Impact
A Kaeya x Lumine story that takes place during his birthday. Lumine sends Kaeya a letter that she'll be coming to see him for his birthday and that she has something to tell him, and he wonders what it could be. It's a really sweet story, and I really love how the writer captures their voices here, and it also takes a look at aspects about Kaeya I don't think gets a lot of attention (that being he may undervalue himself to an extent, which I feel his hangout event confirms it with how he legit says he isn't a good person even though his actions speak otherwise).
Hues of Woe or Heaven by DianeB
Fandom: Star Trek: Voyager
This is set after the S6 episode "Survival Instinct" and is an ensemble story that follows Marika Willkarah's final days aboard Voyager. It's a really good fill in the blanks story if you liked that episode, and is just as heartwrenching. It gives much needed resolution and serves as, in my opinion, the perfect wrap up for that episode.
In the Desert with the Doctor by swimmingwolf59
Fandom: Star Trek: Voyager
A "missing scene" story for the episode "Future's End" between Tuvok and the Doctor whilst they were in the desert looking for Chakotay and Torres' missing shuttle. Absolutely hilarious. It feels like a scene that probably did happen.
Emu Dreamland by hainehime
Fandom: Project Sekai (aka Hatsune Miku Colorful Stage)
A WonderlandxShowtime story set 10 years in the future. Phoenix Wonderland has shut down. Tsukasa and Emu reminisce about the past. EmuKasa story, has mentioned RuiNene. Angst. It's really well written and is a heartbreaking imagining of the park shutting down and what Tsukasa left behind when he finally became a star.

Fandom: Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle
Post-Acid Tokyo arc. A heartwrenching character study of Clone Syaoran as he traveled alone across worlds to retrieve the remainder of Sakura's feathers.
Duty by JordannaMorgan
Fandom: Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress
A pre-canon story focused on Kurusu as a child where his father explains the duties of being a bushi, about protecting people from the Kabane. It's a really well thought out story and feels like it could be a real memory to why Kurusu became the man he is today, and the interaction between him and his father feels wholesome despite the circumstance.

1) “By Any Other Name” by SatelliteBlue
- I will recommend this fic until the cows come home, this is honestly one of my favorites, I’ve reread it more times than I could count, it is number 1 on this list. DabiHawks Bachelorette AU (no no, don’t scroll, trust me)
2) “love you like a love song” by Reinamy
- on the urge to see what fics ao3 had for Shortaki (Helga/Arnold from Hey Arnold) I found this lovely AU. Probably my favorite of this pairing on ao3
3) “ Fowl Play” by marreena
- When I need a laugh: this fic. It doesn’t fail. BNHA - DabiHawks and Izuku/Shoto
4) “Finding Themselves” by Isscha
- this is another fic I’ve read more times than I can count. This is a Dear Evan Hansen fic with Evan/Connor not only developing a healthy relationship, but doing it through a roadtrip where they basically pack up and say F it, let’s find ourselves. I love it, I live vicariously through it, I recommend it.
5) “Connection Interrupted... Reconnecting” by satan_copilots_my_tardis
- I was not really one for the Shiggy/Dabi pairing but this is the fic that got me into it! It’s not only well written and hilarious, it’s touching and very sexy. Fun and funny, it’s such a great fic ❤️
6) “Not Life-Threatening” by crucifixinhell
- it’s kind of hard to find John Constantine fics where he’s the main character and still in the DCU (or at least it was for me), this is an interesting one exploring some dark themes, and is also the prelude to a poly pairing with 2 other well known DC characters
7) “An Ashen Slate” by GinkoTracks, IchabodTheCrane, MelancholysSunshine, NEZUKO_CHANNNNN, PredawnLeaf, & Riahlynn101
- this fic needs more love! It came out before certain manga pages of BNHA and explore a different way rewind could have affected AFO… a possible redemption based oneshot. I thought it was very well written and would love to see more plots like it.
8) “Tim Drake's I.E.F (Invisible Eldritch Friend)” by Half-dead Ham (Grima101)
- there are quite a few DPxDC crossovers, I just think this one is hilarious
9) “Professor Chaos’ Soulmate” By Yais
- I love South Park superhero AUs (and there are honestly a few I could recommend but this one really got me into them, esp with Mysterion and Prof. Chaos lol)
10) “burn it all down” by dorothycanfly
- probably my favorite villain brothers Dabi and Shoto AU, mainly bc I love how close Dabi’s character is to his canon self or only initially taking Shoto for selfish reasons and is then dragged kicking and screaming into an actual familial relationship through close proximity lol
Now I’m a bit sad I could only include 10, I think I definitely could have fit more haha 😅

It’s a 5+1 Akutagawa angst, hurt/comfort fic. It’s wonderful and sad and I about cried.

VERY good SSKK fic. 5+1 again! It’s filled with toothrotting fluff. Basically Akutagawa is trying to prove he’s the best and it turns into a relationship it’s amazing-

SSKK again ! A lovely little crack fic that has Atsushi acting like a cat and it’s fluff and everyone has a great time!
arisama, arisama by ixcarus
This is a Danganronpa Despair Disease fic. It’s SaiOuma. It has its fluffy parts but beware the Bittersweet ending tag.
In the Hall of the King Underhill by Hellenite
This work is by Hellenite, my favorite author on ao3. It’s Dsmp, a platonic Ranboo and Tubbo fic. It’s Fae, which is one of my favorite tropes. I LOVE this fic. I love all the fics Hellenite has created and can’t recommend them more! This definitely leans more towards the angsty side, and so do the others in this series. Very Amazing fic!

This a BSD Beast au. That speaks for itself. It’s veryyy angsty and has spoilers Beast. Beast!Atsushi is sent to the main timeline. It’s a lovely fic, just sad. Very recommended!

More crack. More silly silly crack. Bsd, 5+1, yeah! It’s wonderful and silly AND there is Ranpoe at the end !! That singular part is not fluff tho be aware. Very Yummy

im late but ah i have so many recommendations. if i have to limit myself to 10, here goes:

- A Nanny? In MY Summoning Circle? - pukner
This is THE fic. its so good. i love it. its a grown up Warlock Dowling from Good Omens going through it after a very odd childhood & leaving home to escape his parents, living with flatmates in London. And then they accidentally summon Crowley.

- Fracture - blackkat
Frankly, all blackkat's fics are inspired, but this is one of my faves. Star Wars, strange planet, time and space being weird, wonderfully written Mace and wonderfully written Cody.

- fidelity - ginger_mosaic
Loki: Agent of Asgard is one of my favourite comics ever, and this fic does it justice in a wonderful, wonderful way. lots of Verity Willis feels.

- Chess Games - GenericUsername01
It's technically a series, but it's short. My favourite is the last part, I always laugh to the point of crying while reading it. It's Kirk/Spock told through chess.

- swimming through fire - oneinspats
This is also a series. it's LOTR re-telling but Boromir lives (and everybody is queer). It's delightful Boromir character study, and there's lots of wonderful angst in there and musings about philosophy and politics. Other characters are also wonderful. This fic (and other works of the author) made me care so much about Grima. This is also one of my favourite portrayals of Rohan in general, and the worldbuilding is immaculate.

- Your shadow rising to meet you - Chthonion
Valinor, post LOTR, a wonderful friendship between Frodo, Finrod, and Celebrimbor, lots of talk about trauma and redemption and Sauron/Annatar. Both parts of the series are wonderful and I love them. Elrond & Fingon & Maedhros in the second fic steal the show sometimes and they are wonderful at it.

- Asynchronous circuit - Jessepinwheel
The best detective story i've read as a fic. It follows a disillusioned Obi-Wan who left the Order after Melidadaan, fucked up his connection to the Force, and became a private detective. He still manages to get involve in all the main problems of the galaxy, including the Sith problem. It's great.

- Slices of Happiness - kj_feybarn
It's very melancholic and sweet and sometimes quite angsty. Aftermath of clone wars, but Order 66 never happened and Palpatine is dead. Obi-Wan takes a longer break & we follow him, the jedi, and the clones attempting to figure out how to live after the war. I make it sound sad, but it's not - it's fluffy, even if it is melancholic.

- Anthony J. Crowley, Retired Demon and Airbnb Superhost - TheOldAquarian
Good Omens crack is the best crack.

- the blood of the covenant - avid_author_activist
Very different, this one is a short Rangers Apprentice fanfic. Halt was always such an interesting character & i inprinted on him like a duckling.

I don’t have ten recommends, because I’m kinda new to Ao3, but I do have some fan fictions I’d really love to share here so….

A alternate story in the Five Night at Freddy movie where Mike distracts William in the fight scene long enough for Vanessa and Abby to get away. William basically imprisons him and forces him into a son like role. It’s REALLY good, the characterizations are spot on, the plot is *chefs kiss* and there are two little mini stories branching off from it.
‘Knife Through The Heart’, by Veynn
A Hazbin Hotel fic with unrequited Vox/Alastor (aka obsessed Vox) where Alastor gets injured and is forced to rely on Vox to help him. Of course Vox loves this and continually uses it against him. (I love this so much😁)
‘Lost and Found’, by Jess Marylin
A Guardians of the Galaxy fic that takes place after Vol. 3 where 89P13-15 (an oc and raccoon experiment like Rocket) finds herself with the Guardians and has a father figure in Rocket himself. It’s very adorable and fluffy, but there’s also angst and very big plot points that have you on the edge of your seat.
‘Miraculous: Rise of Anatis’ by SassyDuckQueen
An amazing miraculous fic that explores what could have happened if LUKA got the Ladybug miraculous, and Marinette the cat. Its absolutely AMAZING, with great plot, and excellent characterization. It’s more realistic than the show in some ways(better than the show, in my opinion) There’s also amazing art linked
The one thing is, it’s not completed, and I’m not sure of it will be, but it is still an amazing fic to read and already has 75 long characters so…
‘Let the Monster Rise’ by ThoseSadisticTendencies
This is a few years old and the first part of the ‘Grace for Sale’ series. It is a Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them fic where Grindelwald takes an—uh…interest in Newt (unrequited/ Stockhold Syndrome Newt/Gellert) and my summarily will do it no justice. There is just SO much depth to it. It is also a Percival/Newt and they are adorable❤️
This fanfiction is amazing and beautiful and I’ve reread it about fifteen hundred times. It really delves deep into the Blood bond between Gellert and Albus, and how Newt was pulled between them. It’s sooooo good!!!
I know it’s not ten (sorry) but I tried my best!

Teen and Up, ~45k words, Marvel fic with great (but tiny!) OCs
My bookmark: OMFG, I loved this fic so much!! It could have been only fluff and giggles, but it had depth and trauma and betrayal and pain, but also healing and BAMFs and love and taking a risk on a fellow survivor. Plus the freaking most adorable side characters EVER!! It's a reread for infinity.
2. Catch and Release by McSpot
Teen and Up, ~22k words, Hockey RPF fic
My bookmark: For when you need to feel the feels ... Heart breaking chapter 1 (until the ending), and the sweetest taffy of a chapter 2. Deeply felt Mario's pain and sorrow, and was scoured clean of that pain by the entire sharks team as the story progressed.

My bookmark: This novel is absolutely stunning. It is complex, hilarious, and, at times, profoundly painful. Gorgeous, gorgeous writing! My bookmark: I loved this series so much that I'm already rereading it, and bookmarking it to ensure I can do so over and over 🐾💕 Not only does this contain some of the sweetest and most charming moments ever written, it has a well-plotted story arc and kept me completely enthralled. Soooooo good!
6. Pearlescent Silk by Chancy_Lurking
Explicit, ~3.7k words (my shortest fav!), SpideyPool fic
My bookmark: This wonderful fic sent me down a spinnerets rabbit hole, wherein I had just the best time ever!! ✨🕸️✨

To start off, I am excited to recommend the works of a wonderfully underrated writer - a_momentwitme, who I hope will continue to write:
1. Good Things Come (To Those Who Listen) - a love story of self discovery, love, and growth.
2. Love is the Only Goal - a story about a footballer falling in love with a sports journalist, that delicately deals with closeting and self discovery.
3. A Golden Goal - the sequel of the upper work, the same footballer and journalist run away from the world on an island, but chaos comes when they return.
4. Through the Trees - a story of young lovers who brok up, then found their way back while understanding what led to their separation in the first place.
The rest are other fics I have really enjoyed here, they are all in the Larry fandom, which I will forever appreciate for all the talent.
5. Teach me how to love by perfectdagger - or what happens when a misunderstanding leads to love.
6. Hurts So Good by wickedarcher_08 - a tattoo artist and their client have a hot inking session.
7. Tired Tired Sea by MediaWhore - a beautiful journey of self discovery and love found on a remote island, in the comfort of a lighthouse turned bed and breakfast.
8. You'll Breathe Me In (You Won't Release) by LoadedGunn - a love story between a drivier instructor and his student. I don't have numbers 9 and 10 because I am still new in the fandom and have yet to read and keep with me other fics, and I'd rather not recomment something I only half enjoyed. I hope you will enjoy my reading list.

While I don't have ten, one I would recommend is "The Fall" by Sephstones. It's basically Charlie and Vaggie's (Hazbin Hotel) relationship before the events of the show. It's rated E, but it's not too smutty, keeps the characters in character, and is really well written
