-Princess Peach, Vampire Slayer! A fun crack crossover that includes everyone from Sonic to Zelda to Ruru to Princess Peach to Count Duckula. Delightfully surreal send-up of Dracula Transylvania castle films, very clever, with scads of art and culture references.

-October Again: Poem for a Jesa. I could pick any of their works to recommend, so I'll just choose their latest and encourage further exploration. The author writes in the small "Warrior Baek Dong-Soo" fandom and has a particular mastery of the drabble and multi-drabble format. Like all their stuff, it's tight and clean, with economic imagery use (in this case, it's apples).

Author: Milliecake.
-Seo's School of Slash. Another accomplished writer in the "Warrior Baek Dong-Soo" fandom who specializes in comedy. This is an unusual foray for them into video-based humor -- visual excerpts are taken from the TV show and have dialogue added that definitely wasn't in the original (a little like the technique seen in things like "What's Up Tiger Lily?"). My 10 fanwork recs
My hero academy lethal hero: by Zillafire:
An MHA/Venom crossover not only done well, but pulling on the original comics for added world building and symbiote characters. Well written, long running, and a lot of plotting from different factions behind the scenes, while still managing to supply frequent doses of humor, especially with the dynamic between Deku and the symbiote.
Doki's at Hogwarts: by HoneybarryCutiedoobles:
A DDlC Harry Potter crossover series that manages to perfectly fit the DDLC cast into the world of Harry Potter while still retaining, and showing great understanding of, each other their personalities. Lots of fluff and emotional drama wrapped together in a nice package.
My Next Life Aa A Planeswalker: All routes lead to the multiverse!: by SixthOctavarium:
A long but completed work crossing over My Next Life as a Villainess and Magic the Gathering. I liked a lot it despite not being at all familiar with the former, though that familiarity is recommended. Katarina Claes awakens as a planeswalker in this fic, and she remembers the game from before she got isekaied, but mostly stays on her home plane. Politics abound. An interdimensional war will be waged. The story is well written and humor, drama, and angst are all present.
A camellia still blooms in the winter: by boyprinzessin:
A fluffy Madoka Magica hurt comfort one shot in a timeline that disregards the events of Rebellion. Simple, but it seemed really profound to me. Perhaps because I was also writing my own fic with a very similar intitial concept as what was ultimately shown here, and I think my ideas are awesome. Also it features some cute original art.

An MHA/Konosuba crossover fic. I'm getting tired of writing these descriptions, so from now on some of them might be short or vague. Anyways, in this one Deku gets isekaied into a darker take on the konosuba universe. Also he gets a harem, but its not too fanservicey so it can slide.
Snake Eyes: by Killingjoke98:
Admittedly I haven't finished reading this one, but I think its really good and really well written. Its a Danganronpa AU in which Makoto becomes a lot more badass while at the same time much more fragile both physically and mentally. This portrayal is supposed to be the authors take on Despair!Makoto and it is very much done correctly, being completely in line with his Canon personality for the most part.
Take My Brain, or What Remains: by DeathlySilence
An MHA x Portal crossover that I also haven't finished, but it's really good and goes in some interesting directions.

A FNaF and MHA crossover that goes on some really interesting directions.
To the Stars: by Hieronym:
A Madoka Magica fic set in a far future alternate outcome of the wraith timeline from the end of the series. I haven't read most of it to be honest, but thats because I'm not caught up on the spin offs and the story features information from Oriko Magica (though seemingly not Wraith Arc, which is interesting), as well as one of its characters, Chitose Yuka, in a major role. If it weren't for my not wanting spoilers, I would've continued it, but what I did read was god tier writing and worldbuilding.
Encore!: by winniebear:
A time travel FNaF fix it fic featuring Michael Afton. Admittedly its been awhile since I've read it, but I remember it was really good.

The criteria of recommending 10 fanfics gave me an idea on how to recommend some fics I love. Well, it was actually inspired from a post on reddit.
Presenting 1 snarry fanfic per year for over 10 years starting on 2001. Or you can also say, 10 of some of the reasons on why snarry exploded in popularity back then.
2001 - The Tea Series 1: A Most Disquieting Tea
The Tea Series is very popular and is sometimes credited as the genesis of Snarry. Although the later part of the series is written in later years, the first one is written in 2001, and I'm putting it here for the people to know about it.
2002 - the pandora complex
This one is another ancient Snarry and it tells about how Snape found himself sucked into the world of fanfiction. I used to read this one everyday as a ritual due to how hilarious it is. Also it was written before people find out that Snape isn't pureblood, hence why he is struggling on learning how to use a computer.
2003 - Truth
Another one of the classics. Although I think Snape's pettiness here is too overdone, a lot of things here are in-line with his character. And it made me see again the Snape that I love in the canon books, and made me want to seek more in-character Snape fanfics
2004 - Severus Snape and the Ghostwritten Romance
This one is written by the one and only Cluegirl who in my opinion writes the most in-character Snape in all my experience reading HP fanfics. Although this was originally first posted in 2004, this fanfic is postwar. But since it was written only after the fifth book, some of the characters who died in canon didn't die here. But that's the best part, with no canon book to rely on this author relied on her own creativity to predict the events and making the story interesting by introducing new villains and stortline. What's more is the amazing way this author expanded the lore of magic in HP that I really love reading about in many HP fanfics. Another bonus is that, this is an Umbridge bashing fanfic, which we can rarely see in HP fanfics. And it is in the form of Snape insulting her in the most intelligent of ways that gives you high satisfaction when reading it.
2005 - In Between Days
Another one of the classics. Not only is Snape in-character, but Harry as well. Harry is so in-character that other people felt like abandoning reading this. But to me, that's what makes this special. Very rare are the authors that can write fanfics as if the they're the author, but this author made it. And making a story with in-character characters, makes a fanfic very authentic and a story very enjoyable as well.
2006 - The Friday Boy
Reading this one was an amazing experience. Of the fanfics I'm recommending here, I'd say 4 of them could easily fit themselves right in with the top best novels: Severus Snape and the Ghostwritten Romance, In Between Days, the one in 2009, and this. The author's writing style is really amazing in this that I felt like I'm reading another HP book. The author has other amazing works but I'm choosing this one due to how HP-like the feeling this one felt like.
2007 - cupboard space
Written by the same author who wrote "The Friday Boy". In my opinion, trauma bonding should be popularized as a tag. And that's what this story is about, a trauma bonding between Harry and Snape. In here, Harry got sexually assulted just like how Snape was in canon. And it gave me so much satisfaction on how Snape comforted him using his own trauma. Snape opening up towards Harry gives me a happy feeling.
2008 - By sulfur and salt
I started reading fanfiction back then finding stories on traumatized victims and how they heal to feel like I was slowly healing together with them. And that's precisely why I like this one. Although Snape may look like he is enabling Harry, he is actually helping him heal very slowly. And by helping Harry heal, Snape in turn is slowly healing too.
2009 - The Fourth Deathly Hallow
This one is a crossover between Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes and it has a very special place in my heart, mainly because I love reading about mystery, investigation, suspense, action, and adventure in fiction. And having all of them makes me very biased towards this. In this fic, Harry, Snape, and Draco would encounter an enemy who is a genius unlike Voldemort and they would encounter real danger to their lives. Each event made me anxious on what would happen to them next but fortunately Sherlock and Watson is there to help them. And OMG! The way Sherlock and Snape, my two favorite geniuses, interact! Sherlock is also in character, a feat that it very hard to achieve, but this author managed it. It's such a masterpiece, I highly recommend it.
2010 - The Darkest Corner (Of My Heart)
This one is first posted in 2010 at walking the plank, but I'm gonna link the ao3 one. Very few things that rarely get explored in fanfics are Snape's creation of new spells and him liking dark arts which are explored here. And it also satisfies one of my very few kinks, bestiality (though it' s not really bestiality, but something like that.)

I have ten Batjokes recommendations! And I know firsthand that the Batjokes dilemma can get really sad, so these are all specifically fics that I picked for being wholesome.
1. Michelin star, by Pekko. An adorable fluff scene of Bruce and Joker having a nice morning at Wayne Manor.
2. The scars will remind us, by orangetornado. This fic takes place in the Telltale Batman universe, with Bruce and John talking honestly about the mistakes they made during the events of The Enemy Within, and rebuilding trust. Some very-much-needed hurt/comfort.
3. The Clown Prince and the Common Bat, by Immanerdwhohasfun. Right after the events of the Lego Batman Movie, Joker wants to take his and Batman’s relationship another step further. Joker’s and Harley Quinn’s friendship also features prominently in this one, and the ending is so sweet I nearly melted reading it.
4. Rebuilt, by Dracze. Years after Batman: Last Knight On Earth, Batman manages to build a robot body for Joker. They give off really strong ‘old married couple’ vibes in this one.
5. What If I Saved You? What If I Followed You Into That Pain? by Author_Chan06. A short soulmate AU where their meeting at Ace Chemicals goes down differently.
6. Memory Made Forever, another soulmate AU by Author_Chan06. Batman and Joker get a happy ending in the afterlife.
7. how The Killing Joke probably went in ASBAR universe, by ArgentNoelle. This fic is exactly what the title promises, a retelling of The Killing Joke with the narrative style and characterization of All-Star Batman And Robin. That seems like a strange premise for a wholesome fic, but if you’re at all familiar with All-Star Batman and Robin, you know how ridiculously horrible it is, and this fic utilizes that awfulness to make a funny, unhinged, so-bad-it’s-good version of one of the most devastating Joker-centric Batman comics of all time. It’s not super shippy, but there is enough Batjokes in there that you can read into it.
8. Not-so-secret Relationship, by Yukihine. This one is the fluffy epilogue of another fic, a romantic sequel to The Lego Batman Movie, but it also works as a stand-alone.
9. A New Dance, by an orphaned account. Batman asks Joker for a positive change in their relationship, and, miracle of miracles, Joker accepts! The Batjokes fix-it scene we so desperately need.
10. just in case of sunrise, by railroadman. An amazing and hilarious fic where the Justice League is throwing Bruce a birthday party, and Clark decides that the best present for Bruce would be… to have Joker jump out of his birthday cake and surprise everyone. Hilarity ensues.

I'm going with 10 All Time Classics from the Captain America (MCU) fandom. I mean, they're all classics to me, at least. In no particular order:
1. This, You Protect by owlet
First installment in the Infinite Coffee and Protection Detail series, which are all amazing. It's a “Bucky escaping Hydra and rebuilding his sense of self” fic, which he does while spying on Steve. With eventual Avengers Family and a lovely cast of OCs bonding with Bucky in the meantime. It has a very distinctive perspective and writing style; Bucky's in constant internal (and sometimes accidentally external) dialogue with himself, making it hilarious and tragic all at the same time. I love it. I've recently been getting into The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells and this Bucky has a similar sassy-but-vulnerable vibe? Read this if you like that, anyway.
2. The One Who Knows by Dira Sudis (dsudis)
This is a Political Animals AU, in that no-powers Steve is inserted into the Political Animals world and Bucky is TJ. Discusses being outed and depression but is ultimately hopeful. The author is one of my all time faves and has written lots of great stories for this and many other fandoms.
3. Blue Scales by chaya
Steve is a merman AU. He's still Captain America, though. It's crack with heart, I love it.
Best line: "May your scales and your love story be our weird secret forever.”
4. Our Lingering Frost by eyres
AU where Bucky is rescued from Hydra in the 50s (?) and so is around for Steve to be found.
5. Assets Out of Containment by follow_the_sun
It's a classic to *me*, OK? Bucky goes undercover at Jurassic World just as that movie's plot kicks off. They're Hydra dinosaurs! It's just great. Also has a podfic and crossovers with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
6. Not Easily Conquered (series) by dropdeaddream and WhatAreFears
Some of the greatest fanfiction I've ever read, the whole series is epic. Anyway, it's a "Steve doesn't go into the ice" AU with added queer angst when (never sent) love letters from Bucky resurface. I particularly like the second installment in the series 'The Thirteen Letters', which are just Bucky's letters and are insanely well-written.
7. To memory now I can't recall by etharaei
Time travel AU! Featuring post-CATWS Bucky accidentally switching places with CATFA era Bucky.
8. If Wishing Made It So by Leveragehunters (Monkeygreen)
Genie!Bucky AU! This author is great at writing AUs with fantasy/genre elements, it was hard to choose. They've also written an excellent werewolf!Steve AU and a horse!Steve AU that I really love.
9. Into That Good Night by Nonymos
An Interstellar AU! Very angsty and tragic but with an eventual happy ending.
10. Goodbye Piccadilly, Farewell Leicester Square by Speranza
Speranza must be one of the best writers in the fandom, so it was hard to pick just one of their fics. Other strong contenders were All the Angels and the Saints and The Fifties, so check those out too! But this one has a special place in my heart. Steve, Tony and Natasha accidentally time travel to WW2 London, leading to an accidental run-in with CATFA-era Bucky. The author does tragic and romantic time travel tropes so well, but with a happy ending.
I now realise that most of these are AUs, so here’s a bonus rec for a non-in-universe story that’s severely underrated and deserves more love:

Heart, Have No Pity on this House of Bone by Sena
This story follows Bucky in-action in the Pacific Theatre. It’s very well written and, from what I can tell, well researched. Steve only appears in Bucky’s imagination and the story focuses on the horrors of war rather than romance, but it’s gripping! And it explores unrequited love, being closeted and period-typical homophobia, which I also enjoyed. I’m still holding out hope for a sequel.

The dense character-building almost made this an original piece, with the faces of my favorite characters, and there isn't a quiet moment. The emotions are rich, and this piece left me wanting more. (And with the note on the front that it was being rewritten in 2021, I still have hope for new content!)

I followed this piece for several years, sometimes getting a chapter once a month, sometimes getting one every couple of months, but it was more than worth the wait. This is the piece that got me to apply for my own Archive account so I could save it forever. I've re-read it several times, and Black Butler's Sebastian x Ciel ship remains one of my core personality traits. This piece inspired some of the themes I touch on in my Pitch x Jack work, Overland High, and it helped me through some emotional abuse in my real life. The Archive writers like the misnomer here, The_Trash_Can, give me a safe haven to explore the darkness of humanity, the darkness within myself, and I only hope to provide the same for my readers. I write for myself, of course, but I live through my readers' kudos and comments, and I try to do the same for other writers.

went thru my bookmarks and here are the fics ive reread over and over
1. The Good Soul
Essentially a semi-au rewrite of the Song of Achilles- I actually read this before the book itself, fell in love, and was disappointed reading the actual novel lol. So so beautiful
2. No Time To Crank The Sun
One piece, Zoro-centric. amnesia trope and one of the greatest uses of the unreliable narrator technique I've ever read. fantastically written and so so smart
3. poly philtatos (the most loved by far)
Ok I love a good One Piece time travel fic- and this is one of the best. Essentially Future!Zoro thrown back in time to meet freshly post-timeskip Strawhats. written so wonderfully and I've re-read this about 10 times. all of swordsmans' fics are works of art
4. Show Some Restraint
While I enjoy BDSM scene fics, I'm always wary going in as to whether they deal with the themes in a (to some extent) accurate manner- and this fic (One Piece, ZoSan) is one of the best I've read. Dom Sanji/Sub Zoro, everyone has a tragic past, Robin and Law, polyamorous themes, and a frankly surprising amount of plot considering I went into it expecting the usual PWP BDSM fic. Nonetheless this is one of the best fics (and series) I've read.
5. The Longest Job
When I'm looking for a great, lighter fic to reread, chances are I go for this one- Hunter x Hunter, HisoIllu living together in Heaven's Arena. Murderous shenanigans ensue.
6. this is the life
I've probably re-read all of jilliancares' spideypool fics at least 5 times, and this is a favourite- scrungly struggling peter while deadpool tries to discover his identity. Very fun.

Always gotta recommend this is about a stuffed bird by Bee_4. I read this before I got into Hermitcraft and it blew my mind. One of my favorite written works in general.
Before I Sleep is an old favorite that makes me cry still whenever i think about it. Honestly the entire UFUT trilogy is an old gem, if just for the cool aspect of old fandom collaboration like that.
directions to the truth by stardustandswimmingpools was one i read recently that was absolutely delightful.
Hometown is one of my favorite fics from one of my friends.
SPOTLIGHT by Jankwritten is another that lives rent free in my head.

Hi there, I'm not really into any of the popular mainstream genres like Game of Thrones or anything but I have a few recommendations at least.
Cherished Foe by Maxx2DXtreame
A 1920s Undertale mafiatale a story of enemies to friends to lovers fanfic with a cross dressing element. The characters are so well written and the story is rich in detail. Highly recommend!
Sweet Mercy by Cameolot
Drama filled Undertale swapfell story. It's vulgar and dark and definitely not suitable for children. Great read.
Different: That's What I Like! by MagicalStranger13
A different retelling of Stange Magic, much more in depth world building.
