There was no doubt in her mind that she was made for Adrien Agreste. And, there was also no doubt in her mind that Adrien Agreste was made for her. They were made for each other and that thought always sent shivers up her spine.
To be honest, though, she had never expected that they would get together like this. She had always expected shy smiles and flustered looks over at each other in class as Marinette and Adrien. She did not expect rushed kisses and secret dates as Ladybug and Adrien.
And that’s where Ladybug found herself now. Her hands were tangled in Adrien’s hair as they shared a few stolen kisses on his couch. She pulled back, gulping down a deep breath of air as she tried to catch her breath.
She snuck a glance down at Adrien, her heart stumbling in her chest at the sight. His eyes were glassy, a dazed smile on his kiss-swollen lips as he looked up at her. His clothes were rumpled and his hair was an absolute mess. He panted for breath, his chest heaving up and down.
Ladybug couldn’t stop the giddiness from flooding through her. He looked like that because of her. Because of their kisses. And, god, did he look amazing just like this.
After they both caught their breath, a slow pout stole its way across Adrien’s face. Ladybug blinked in confusion before he murmured something that had her snorting. “My lips miss yours.”
Shaking her head through her giggles, she tapped his pout with her gloved finger. “You are such a dork.”
“Yeah, but I’m your dork.” Adrien gave her a bright grin before kissing the finger on his lips.
Ladybug chuckled once more before leaning back down with a twinkling gleam in her sapphire eyes. “You’re insatiable.”
“Only for you,” Adrien managed to say just before her lips collided with his once more.
If she was being honest, she wanted to kiss him just as much as he wanted to kiss her. In fact, she probably wanted to kiss him more. She had spent so much of her time just pining over him when they could have been doing this.
Ladybug played with the hair at the nape of Adrien’s neck, smiling into their kiss as he shivered in her arms. Never in her wildest dreams had she imagined this becoming a part of her reality. The thought of having Adrien’s lips against hers still seemed too good to be true.
And yet, a tiny, niggling voice in the back of her head that sounded suspiciously like Tikki told her she shouldn’t be doing this. It was dangerous. For both him and her. If Monarch ever found out...
Ladybug tore her lips away from his, guilt gnawing at her. She groaned, running a hand through her hair angrily. She sat up and avoided Adrien’s gaze as her thoughts continued to taunt her. Why couldn’t she just ever let herself be happy?
“Ladybug?” Adrien called out to her and she finally turned her head to meet his gaze again. He was sitting up on his elbows, his head tilted adorably as a worried frown furrowed his brows. “What’s wrong?”
She nibbled at her lower lip, fidgeting with her fingers absentmindedly as she debated telling him. Finally, after sucking in a large breath, she mumbled, “D-do you ever think that we shouldn’t be doing this?”
He chuckled nervously, his eyes skittering away from her. He scratched the back of his neck and shrugged. “Honestly, I can’t say that I have, Ladybug. I’ve dreamed about this for years and I still can’t believe that it’s real.” He hesitated for a brief moment before asking, “W-why have you?”
“Kinda...,” Ladybug trailed off. Upon seeing Adrien’s face fall she quickly amended her statement. Waving her hands in the air as she tried to be reassuring, she said, “N-not because I don’t want to do this! I do! Trust me! I-I’m just worried... What if your father finds out? Or, god forbid, Monarch does. I would never be able to forgive myself if you got hurt.”
Too busy freaking out, she didn’t notice Adrien scooting closer to her until he took her hands in his, squeezing them lightly. Blinking over at him in surprise, she saw a gentle smile on his face.
“Right now, we don’t need to worry about that, Ladybug. No one knows anything. You don’t need to worry about me. And, if we ever get into a situation where someone does know, we’ll figure it out together. Alright?”
Ladybug sniffled quietly before nodding her head. “Alright.”
Leave it to Adrien to be one of the few people who could keep her from spiraling even further into her thoughts. It was no wonder that she fell in love with him.
“Like we’ve always said, we’re made for each other m’la-,” Adrien paused, a stricken look on his face as she frowned at him in concern. He cleared his throat before giving her a hesitant smile. “My Ladybug.”
She flushed, feeling butterflies swarm in her chest at the nickname. With a shy giggle, she asked, “Your Ladybug?”
“Is that okay?” Adrien asked, looking at her rather nervously.
Ladybug simply beamed before nodding her head eagerly. It was more than okay. After all, she was his Ladybug. Had been ever since that day in the rain all those years ago.
Having made up her mind, with Adrien’s help, she dove back in to kiss him once more. She giggled happily at his surprised squeak before he quickly melted into the kiss, cupping her face in his hands as he tilted his head. Deepening their kiss, Ladybug decided that this alone was worth everything.
A knock on the door startled her away from Adrien, though. She heard Nathalie’s voice call out to him. He stared at her with a pair of wide eyes but she quickly jumped into action. Today was not going to be the end. Planting one last kiss on his lips, she whispered a goodbye before grabbing her yo-yo and swinging out his still-open window.
Ladybug sighed happily to herself as she swung away. She shot one last glance at the Agreste mansion, wishing that she could have stayed for just a second longer. Either way, though, this really had been a great day.
