Summary
It was always “after the war.”
After the war they’d have time. They’d be able to talk things through. Obi-Wan would leave the Order, Cody would leave the Third Systems Army. They would settle down, live as normal a life they could.
They would be happy. After the war.
As stated in the tags, this is inspired by "This Is How You Lose the Time War" by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. That book literally altered my brain chemistry -- would absolutely recommend.
