Chapter Text

Yujiro tugged his hat down as he and Aizou walked to the theater that would be showing the first screening of their movie. He had on his usual disguise, which included glasses and his casual clothes. Aizou wore a similar disguise, walking next to him.

As the two boys walked, Yujiro’s eyes flickered to the sun that was setting. A small smile crossed his face.

I can’t believe we’re actually going to the movies…to see ourselves on the big screen.

It felt like everything in the past year had just zoomed by. Time had flown and things had changed so much.

“There’s the potatoes,” Aizou commented.

Yujiro looked ahead, blinking.

“Shiba- iiiinuuu…-kun?” Hiyori shouted, her voice quieting.

Aizou rolled his eyes. “Smooth one, potato girl.”

“Don’t call her that,” Nagisa snapped at him. He was wearing an orange hoodie and jeans, while Hiyori wore a red t-shirt with a polar bear and a panda on it, and a pair of jeans, and, to Yujiro’s surprise, she wore a headband on her head with a little white flower on it.

“Juri-chan and Chizu-chan will be here soon,” Hiyori informed them, “so…”

“We’ll go in first, then,” Yujiro shrugged.

“Ooh…you two…I’m so proud of you..! You’ve really grown a lot this past year…” Hiyori wailed, wiping her eyes. “And you completed a movie! A movie, guys..! That’s so amazing! I can’t wait to see it!”

“We can’t either,” Yujiro tugged on Aizou’s hand. “Hey, let’s go in now. I want some popcorn and candy.”

“Ha?!”

“You invited me here, right? So get me lots of candy. I want chocolate, and M&Ms, and gummy bears-”

“H-hold up! I’m not made of money, you know?!” Aizou squawked.

“Aizou,” Yujiro frowned at him.

Aizou stared at him, before heaving a big sigh, frowning. “Fine.”

“Do you always just give in to him?” Nagisa smirked in amusement.

Aizou shot him a glare. “Like you’re any better with Suzumi!”

Nagisa’s face turned bright red in response.

“Ai. Zou. Let’s. Go.” Yujiro tugged on his hand, frowning impatiently.

I wanna go before the line gets too long, idiot!

“Okay, okay! We’ll see you tomorrow at work, Suzumi,” Aizou rolled his eyes, and led Yujiro into the theaters, both boys not acknowledging Hiyori’s chirps of “bye, you two!”.

To Yujiro’s dismay, they had to wait in a very long line for the tickets, and both boys kept their heads down, nervous that a fan would recognize them.

When they finally got to the front, Aizou paid for the two tickets, and they were given their bonus cards, which were wrapped in plastic.

Yujiro didn’t open his yet, and instead guided Aizou to the snacks, where they had to wait in another long line.

Upon reaching the front, Aizou got a large bucket of popcorn, a single large soda, and all of the candy that Yujiro had requested, grimacing when he was given the price total and shooting Yujiro a scathing look…which Yujiro promptly ignored.

Finally, they approached the ticket booth, and were able to head to the theater, where they found their seats in the very back going up the stairs, and right smack in the middle.

“Best seat in the house,” Yujiro commented, “I’m amazed you got it.”

“Most of the front rows were taken,” Aizou snorted, “there was actually a lot available in the back row. Which card did you get?”

Yujiro looked down and tore apart the plastic. A big grin crossed his face.

“I got you.”

“Huh?!”

Yujiro held it up. “I said I got you, Motorcycle-san.”

Aizou quickly tore his own open, before sighing in relief, and holding the card with Yujiro in his ballet pose up. “Well, I got yours. I guess we’re even.”

“I guess so,” Yujiro shrugged, grabbing a handful of popcorn and tossing it in his mouth. “By the way, why’d you only get one drink?”

“Less money. Prices are ridiculously high, you know..?!”

Yujiro hummed lightly. It probably didn’t help that Yujiro had gotten so much candy. But he didn’t regret a thing.

After all, it kind of feels like a date…though I don’t think it’ll be very romantic watching us on the big screen while he’s sitting right beside me…it totally ruins the immersion…

The lights dimmed, and the commercials began. Yujiro sat upright and looked around.

It’s…a complete full house…oh, I see Suzumi’s friend. That Hattori girl is hard to miss…

Nagisa, Hiyori, Juri and Chizuru were all in the middle row, almost directly in the middle. The four seemed to be chatting quietly, giggling at whatever was going on.

After what felt like hours of commercials, the lights finally turned off, and the movie officially began.

The movie followed Mafuyu, new to Tokyo. He met Juzo, who came into the ice cream parlor he worked at. For a while, Juzo was insistent that someone as delicate as Mafuyu wouldn’t last, but after the first few days, Juzo realized that Mafuyu was there to stay. He grew to respect him.

One day, Mafuyu was walking home, and he got chased by some gang members who’d been in the parlor earlier and who’d harassed his female coworker, which Mafuyu had put a stop to. Just as he was cornered, Juzo came by and saved him, and the two agreed to go out for a bit, as Mafuyu needed an escort to go grocery shopping.

The two go out, with Mafuyu wearing his blue hoodie crop top and shorts, which made several other men leer at him. Juzo tied his coat around Mafuyu’s waist, and the two continued on, and Juzo even took him out on a date. They start to go out more often afterwards.

However, a rival gang appeared and targeted Mafuyu, since he was with Juzo. Juzo, feeling guilty, immediately withdraws from Mafuyu when he realizes that being near him wasn’t keeping him safe; rather, it was endangering him.

Then came Mafuyu’s first song, with him doing his slow ballet moves as he walked home.

Yujiro held back a smirk when he noticed several girls in the audience crying over the song.

Meanwhile, Juzo had lost his fire, seeming more depressed by the day. He has a talk with his gang, who try to cheer him up. Juzo reminences a few memories with Mafuyu to his gang, who ask if he’s in love. After an argument, Juzo finally slips into his own song, singing about love being dead, before the song picked up and all of those amazing dance sequences came.

Several girls in the audience screamed and cheered at the acrobatic moves Aizou pulled off.

The song ended, and several girls let out cheers and sobs.

Juzo then left his gang alone to clear his head and go for a walk. As he did, the scene changed to Mafuyu, going out for a walk.

The first kiss scene came, finally. The intense confrontation, and when the two finally kissed, there were lots of whistles and cheers.

Yujiro looked away from Aizou, his face reddening as he shoved candy in his mouth.

Mafuyu and Juzo began to hang out again- going on dates, kissing at home, and so forth…but unfortunately, the happiness didn’t last. In the middle of one of their outings, the rival gang came, and surrounded them. Mafuyu was held hostage and Juzo was forced to race the leader of the rival gang.

The two sped through the town, and on their way back, a car came speeding by, and it hit both of them.

Like in their first trailer, Mafuyu screamed Juzo’s name.

Thankfully, in the hospital, Juzo lived, though he was scarred up pretty badly. The two share a tender kiss in the hospital, and Mafuyu continues to work his job.

He was surprised when Juzo came by a couple weeks later, and Juzo swore that his days in the biker gang were over, and that he wasn’t going to die anytime soon when he finally found a reason to look forward to everyday life.

The two relocate to Okinawa- far away from their old lives, where the two manage to start up a flower shop. The montage of them getting a new home and the shop came on, with Mafuyu’s second song coming up.

There was another scene once the flower shop was up, with a few of Juzo’s old friends visiting them in Okinawa, and congratulating the two. Juzo teases the idea of marriage, which flusters Mafuyu.

The movie ends after Juzo and Mafuyu close up shop to go home, and share a kiss with a beautiful sunset in the background.

The credits rolled, with Yujiro and Aizou both singing the ending song.

Everyone sat through the credits, before cheering. After all, it was the premier, and tons of the staff were there too.

Yujiro and Aizou shared a grin.

Maybe I’ll get the movie when it comes out on DVD…

_____

When the two arrived back home, neither said a word for at least an hour, seemingly still processing that they just saw a movie with them on the screen. On the big screen. And they’ll be in people’s homes in at least six months from now.

How, in the future, when LIPxLIP retires, people will still remember them for their role in their BL movie.

They made their mark in Japan- not just as idols, but as official actors.

“Hey, Yujiro?” Aizou spoke after serving dinner- he’d made omurice to celebrate.

“What?” Yujiro asked, picking at his food before eating it.

“I…I really had fun, this past year,” Aizou gulped, “it was fun filming the movie and learning all these new things…”

“It was fun,” Yujiro agreed. “I was nervous at first, but…it turned out pretty good. And the fans seemed to really like it. I heard that Nakamura Chizuru girl saying she has more tickets for later and tomorrow to rewatch it.”

“I saw a lot of fans at the premier on social media saying they got tickets for another week,” Aizou snorted. “I guess…we did really well. But that isn’t the point I’m trying to make.”

“Eh?” Yujiro looked up at him.

“I…really enjoyed that…it was a BL,” Aizou said quietly, his face reddening. “I’m glad that my first experience doing a movie was that, and it was with you. I…liked some of those scenes more than I should.”

“What are you saying..?” Yujiro held his breath. He had a feeling he knew what Aizou was going to say, but he didn’t want to get his hopes up.

Wait, hopes..?

“I…want to do it more often, Yujiro,” Aizou reached over, resting his hand over Yujiro’s. “I want to hug you. Cuddle you. Kiss you. I want to love you.”

“A-Aizou..?”

“God, don’t you get it?! I like you, stupid!” Aizou burst out, his face turning dark red. “So just go out with me or something..!”

Yujiro stared at him, wide eyed.

Aizou…likes me..?

In retrospect, he shouldn’t have been surprised. After everything this past year…he realized that he, too, had feelings for Aizou.

Back when they first practiced making out in their shared bed, that sad emotion Yujiro felt, it was longing. Longing to continue kissing Aizou, to feel his hands roam his body, to make him feel good and to be in his arms when they finish.

“Ah…you don’t have to answer now,” Aizou muttered, looking away. He stood up. “I’ll go do the dishes.”

Yujiro blinked and reached over, grabbing Aizou’s sleeve.

“Eh?” Aizou glanced at him.

“...I…” Yujiro looked away, frowning. “...You can’t just confess to me, ask me out, then run away when I haven’t answered…stupid…”

“H-huh?”

“I like you too. S-so take responsibility and stay here, you dumbass.”

A huge grin crossed Aizou’s face.

“Yujiro! You feel the same?!” He cheered, pulling Yujiro out of his seat.

“I- I already answered you, didn’t I..?!” Yujiro could feel his face getting hotter and hotter.

Aizou laughed joyously, his hands flying to Yujiro’s waist. He lifted him up and spun him in a happy circle.

Yujiro let out a surprised shriek, his hands gripping Aizou’s shoulders.

“Yujiro! I love you!”

“I-isn’t it too soon to say that?!”

_____

At the end of the next week, a day after their nineteenth birthdays, they appeared on national TV for an interview about the movie.

“Your Voice, Your Heart has been out for a week now! How are you two feeling?” The host asked with a huge smile.

“We’re feeling pretty good,” Aizou beamed.

“The movie turned out much better than we thought, so we really hope everyone sees it and likes it too,” Yujiro added.

“Fans are dying to know what your favorite scenes are!” The host continued on, leaning in. “Come on, give us the details.”

“Well, we can’t do it without spoiling…but you should definitely give the movie soundtrack a listen, and pay attention to the scenes where our solo songs come in,” Yujiro said slyly.

Aizou nodded in agreement.

As the interview continued, with both boys deflecting any spoiler-related questions, they finally reached the final segment.

“The fans want to know…did you two enjoy kissing?” The host asked slyly.

The girls in the audience cheered.

“It was definitely an experience,” Aizou said cryptically.

“Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!” Some girls started chanting.

Yujiro stared out in surprise, before glancing at Aizou.

“You heard the fans. You up for a little movie fanservice?” The host asked teasingly.

“What do you say, Yujiro? Should we give our Julietta’s what they want?” Aizou smirked at him, his eyes dancing.

That idiot…he just wants to kiss me in front of everyone.

After a week of dating, it wasn’t hard to figure that out.

“Of course. Let’s put on a show,” Yujiro winked at the girls, who all screamed and cheered.

The two got up and approached each other.

Yujiro didn’t know what to expect- maybe for Aizou to slowly lean in and kiss him? To caress his face? To pull him close?

Whatever it was, he was not expecting Aizou to grab him and swing him down in a dip, before kissing him in front of everyone.

And, Yujiro swore to god that he would go deaf from how loud their fans screamed.

Aizou straightened back up, and helped steady Yujiro afterwards, with Yujiro fighting back the urge to blush, forcing himself to try to think about the most unsavory things.

“How was that, Julietta?” Aizou called.

The fans cheered in response.

“Well, Yujiro? What did you think?” Aizou cooed, reaching up to tilt his chin up. Yujiro huffed as the fans started getting loud again.

“I think…I still prefer the kiss of our Julietta,” Yujiro said strongly, trying to subtly remind Aizou not to go too far.

“Aww! We love you, Yujiro!” Their fans cried out.

“Of course,” Aizou let go, “our Julietta’s come before anyone else!”

“We love you, Aizou!”

The two grinned at the girls.

_____

In the dressing room, Yujiro sighed heavily.

“What were you thinking..?! That was way too real..!”

“Ehh, you liked it though, right? So it was worth it. Besides, the fans all think that we were only giving them fanservice for our BL movie,” Aizou waved it off.

“You…you’re unbelievable,” Yujiro sighed.

A knock came at the door before it opened, with Hiyori rushing in.

“Guys! Check this out! Ratings for the show and for your movie are rising so much!” Hiyori squealed. “And people are already talking about the fanservice kiss!”

Yujiro glared at Aizou.

Aizou laughed. “What are they saying?”

“Some are saying how adorable you two are, and others are saying they wished you’d kiss them like that…while others are disappointed that Someya-kun hasn’t taken charge and are now struggling to imagine him being the one to initiate any kisses.”

“O-oi! Aizou! You’re ruining my rep!”

“What rep? It’s pretty much known by now that you’re the bottom.”

“No one thinks that but you?!”

“Mhm…” Aizou raised his eyebrows.

“Seriously!” Yujiro scowled.

“Mm! Oh, and the fans are actually asking for more BL content, so you might actually be scouted for that! Keep an ear open!” Hiyori cheered.

“Great…” Yujiro sighed.

“Well, no one thinks the kiss is real anyway, so it’s fine to do more,” Aizou shrugged.

At that moment, Aizou’s phone buzzed. He blinked and took it out. He frowned.

“It’s from aniki…” He tapped on his screen a few times before letting out an ungodly shriek, dropping his phone.

“What?” Yujiro and Hiyori peeked at his phone.

Ken had sent Aizou a screenshot of the kiss, followed by the caption, “omg I always knew you two were a thing! Congratulations, baby brother! I’ll be sure to check out your movie too… ∑d(°∀°d)”.

“This is the worst! Aniki can’t see that movie!” Aizou screeched.

“Weren’t you the one who said we should do more BL movies?” Yujiro raised his eyebrows. “Of course your brother is going to see them.”

“Yeah, but..! It’s embarrassing…” Aizou groaned.

“If it’s what the fans want, you can’t disappoint them!” Hiyori encouraged.

Aizou sighed heavily, glancing at Yujiro.

“I guess it’d be worth it. I mean, we can kiss in public that way, right? Screw what the fans want- I want to be able to kiss you in front of everyone.”

“You…idiot,” Yujiro looked away, his cheeks turning red.

“You’re doing BL movies…to kiss each other?” Hiyori stared at them.

“Why not? We’re a thing, after all,” Aizou shrugged.

“...A total deception to your fans…” Hiyori deflated.

Aizou and Yujiro both only chuckled, glancing at each other.

The future of LIPxLIP may have not been certain a year ago when they accepted the job doing a BL movie, but now there was a clear path. And it was a path that the two would be able to walk down together, facing forward. They had each other, and if anyone ever suspected there was more to it, they could easily hide behind it all being fanservice. No matter what happened, it would be okay.

They were in this together.

Hand in hand.

Lip to lip.
