Chapter Text
~Robin's POV~
Robin sat listening to Mike and Max argue over what film to watch but couldn't stop staring at Nancy. It was as if her eyes were glued to her. She paid attention to the way her chest rose and fell as she breathed and tried to match her tempo. How childish, Robin thought. If she wanted to be closer to her, matching Nancy's breathing was not the way to go.
“Make your move, Buckley,” Eddie whispered into her ear from the edge of the bed. Shit, she got caught staring.
“Fuck off, Ed” Robin whispered back, turning to look at him, “I could tell you the same thing” Robin pointed to steve who had just stood to choose a movie for the group of goons. Eddie swatted Robin’s hand away before Steve could see.
“Well played Buckley, well played.” Eddie settled, “Hey, just think you have more of a chance with Wheller than I do with Steve.”
“Oh yeah? I think I have a million to one chance of getting with Nancy, considering she's taken,” Robin said, rolling her eyes. “At least Steve is single.”
“Oh come on Buckley, they've been on the outs for months.”
“What? No, they haven't. They came here together.” Eddie tries to interrupt but Robin continues, “And she's constantly talking about him when we are at the trailer.”
Eddie laughs now, “She doesn't always talk about him, Buckley. Steve always asks her ‘Oh, how is Johnathon?’ and then she will nod, say he's fine and immediately change the subject. They are gonna break up any day now, trust me.” Eddie patted her on the shoulder reassuringly.
Robin just shook her head and went back to gazing at Nancy. By now, the film had started and all eyes were on the TV, except Nancys, whose eyes were fixed on the door. She stood and walked out of the room, virtually undetected. Except for Robin and Eddie.
They looked at each other with wide-eyed confusion. Why did she leave? Where was she going? Robin was apprehensive but Eddie gave her a it’s now or never look and she climbed over the kids who were too engrossed in the film to care.
Once Robin was in the hallway, she knew exactly where Nancy had gone. Robin’s bedroom door was wide open and she could hear running water coming from the tap. As she stepped into the room, Robin saw Nancy standing at her bathroom mirror, solemnly drinking from Robin's favourite glass. Eh, she thought, Nancy looked better holding it than she ever would.
“That's my glass you know.” Robin teased. She realised that she probably should have announced herself earlier to avoid frightening Nancy, due to the fact she nearly dropped the glass.
“Jesus, Robin,” Nancy breathed. Oh wow, Robin thought, that was hot, “What are you doing in here? Shouldn't you be watching the film?”
“What am I doing here?” Robin laughed, amused by Nancy’s cluelessness. “It's my bathroom. What are you doing here?” Robin couldn't be annoyed at Nancy for intruding, she could only smile.
Eddie's previous words ran through Robin's head. Make your move, Buckley. Make your move. She found herself stepping closer to Nancy, so close that all Robin had to do was reach out and she’d have her hands in Nancy’s hair.
Nancy wasn't saying anything, she just stood waiting, so Robin asked, “What’s your damage, Wheeler?”
Nancy's cheeks flushed red as she started explaining herself, “It was just so hot in Steve's room, you know? And I just had to get out, so I came in here.”
Robin felt a sudden rush of confidence, presumably from all of the adrenaline coursing through her body, so she reached out and trailed the back of her hand against Nancy's cheek, “Oh really? I thought it was quite cold there actually. What was making you so hot?”
“I don’t know-” Nancy muttered, her eyes glued to the floor. Robin wanted to see her face, her soft eyes, the intense blush she was causing- so she tucked a finger under Nancy's chin and tilted it to gain eye contact.
“Yes you do, tell me” Robin probed. She could tell Nancy was hiding something.
“It was you. I couldn't stop thinking about you.” Nancy finally admitted, the words spilt out as if they’d been stuck for years.
Make your move, Buckley
Robin moved her hand from Nancy's chin into her hair, pulling her closer. “Can I kiss you?” Robin breathed, suddenly fearful of what Nancy could say.
“God, yes. Please, Rob-” Before Nancy could finish, Robin collided their lips together. Robin felt Nancy's arms wrap around her neck and a wave of relief washed over her. She wants this too.
Their kisses were manic and passionate as their tension dissolved into the kiss. Robin's hands gravitated to the dip of Nancy’s hip, squeezing her. Soft moans erupted from Nancy as Robin's grip became rougher. This made Robin hungrier for the brunette, trailing her tongue across Nancy's bottom lip. Nancy parted her lips and melted into Robin as their tongues danced.
Robin broke the kiss, much to Nancy’s dismay. In one swift move, Robin untangled her hand out of Nancy's hair and lifted her onto the bathroom counter. Nancy laughed into Robin's mouth as they continued to kiss.
Eventually, they ran out of breath and came up for air, resting their foreheads together. Robin ran her hands along Nancy's thighs, giving her goosebumps.
“That was…” Nancy sputtered, clearly distracted.
“Amazing?” Robin offered, hoping that Nancy felt the same.
“I’d probably say incredible,” Nancy admitted. Robin let out a sigh of relief, “I’ve wanted this for a long time, you know.”
“Really?” Robin said mischievously. She led a trail of kisses across Nancy's jaw and down her neck, nipping her as she went down. Nancy moved her neck responsively, clearly asking for more. Nancy ran her fingernails across Robin's back and Robin felt like she was going to explode.
“Um, guys, sorry to interrupt whatever… this is,” Lucas said from the doorway. Robin stood back so fast that Nancy nearly fell off the counter.
“Oh hi Lucas, this isn't what it looks like-” Robin tried to protest, but there was no way of working themselves out of this one, “Okay so it’s exactly what it looks like. Just please don’t tell anyone. Especially not Dustin, because he will tell Steve and I will get murdered. Got it?”
“That’s cool,” Lucas agreed. Clearly, they were on the same page. “Um I just wanted to ask- can the girls have your bed? Eddie and Steve are on his bed and they would probably be more comfortable in here.”
“Yeah that's fine, they can sleep in here tonight,” Robin concluded without question.
“Wait, Lucus,” Nancy questioned, “You just want to watch Star Wars without Max and El complaining, don’t you?” God, Nancy is so hot when she’s being smart.
“Perhaps… but it's too late now, you’ve already agreed!” He shouted as he ran back to Steve's room.
“Wow- we just got played.” Robin looked at Nancy.
“No, Robbie you just got played.” Nancy hopped down from the counter, giving Robin a quick peck on the lips as she followed Lucas.

The room looked no different than it had a half hour ago (all the kids were still awake despite the ungodly hour), except now Steve and Eddie were asleep in each other's arms, their legs tangled together.
“Wheeler,” Robin whispered, to not wake them, “by any chance did you bring your fancy new camera with you?”
From next to her, Nancy stood giggling, “Unfortunately not, Rob. Oh I wish I had”
Robin and Nancy replaced Max and El’s spot on the floor and went to sleep, while the Imperial March drifted in the background.
