I thought I wasn’t gonna answer any more of these (I got so many! I appreciate y'all’s enthusiasm but it got overwhelming, I’m sorry), but I am on the good drugs and just read this amazing fic about the Joker dying so:
This would be a fic about first Tim falling desperately in love with Jason. Just stupid, helpless, totally overwhelming love….which is a problem because Jason still doesn’t like him. They’re past the point of violence, but Jason pretty much constantly gives him the cold shoulder and makes it clear he doesn’t want to be anywhere near Tim.
And that’s a really painful contrast to everything that made Tim fall in love with him: seeing how gentle he is with victims, how fiercely he protects people in his territory, how crazy smart and competent he is….after all that, the way Jason totally shuts down around him hurts.
So Tim is determined to win him over–not even necessarily to loving him, just to being able to tolerate his presence! And after extensive thought + research, he determines the absolute best way to do this is to kill the Joker.
And then I don’t know if I want this to be cracky or really dark so two potential ways that goes:
- The cracky version, Tim just fucking goes for it. Kills the Joker, decapitates the Joker, presents the Joker’s severed head to Jason like the world’s most messed up courting gift. Jason is shocked and awed and yeah, Tim’s his new favorite person. Grudge, shmudge. They get together in very short order and live happily and messed up-ily ever after ♡♡
- The dark version, Tim is Tim, he’s not just going to off the Joker in the middle of the street. Instead, he sets up an elaborate plan in which Joker is manipulated into actions that corner Tim into having “no choice” but to kill him, thereby letting Tim do the thing WITHOUT having to face severe consequences from the other bats. That part proceeds as planned, but it inspires Tim–it’s so easy to do, to pull a Rogue’s strings until they’re no longer a threat! So he does it again, and again, and again, and you know how the road to hell is paved in good intentions. So Tim just crosses line after line until he’s a criminal mastermind taking over all of Gotham “for its own good”
and Jason is his enforcer/consort
