Chapter Text

“Can I get a cheer for today’s win?!” Narumiya Mei yells while holding his beer glass high in the air.

“Cheers!” Everyone echoes back, also raising their glasses to join Mei’s, clicking each one of theirs together. Just as Kuramochi finishes taking a sip of his beer, he looks across the table to see Miyuki shift his gaze elsewhere at the last second.

Turns out the friends Sanada had mentioned were Miyuki, his teammates and Mei, who’s a member of the photography club and a volleyball manager. Kuramochi doesn’t know much about Mei and only heard of a few things from Sawamura. Sawamura never was properly introduced to him, but when he would watch their practices, he noted that he was very outspoken but truly cared for each member and wanted them to improve. He said Sanada always talked highly of Mei and considered him a really good friend.

They were all sitting in a big booth with Miyuki, Mei, and Sanada on one side and Kuramochi and Sawamura on the other. Since arriving here, Kuramochi hasn't made any sort of attempt to start a conversation with Miyuki because he feels like this isn’t the time or place to have a conversation with him to catch up on life with when their friends are here. Rather, the two would occasionally make awkward eye contact with each other and look away as if it didn’t happen. He just wishes the two of them were alone with each other right now.

“... I swear most of the people are either fans of Kazuya or Sanada, there’s like no in between. Even my boyfriend finds Kazuya attractive, and always gets nervous and red in the face when he talks to him. Like sure I’ll give it to Kazuya, he's good looking, but still it’s so cringey seeing him being all fake nice to him.” Mei huffs.

Miyuki lets out a soft laugh, one that Kuramochi hadn’t realized how much he misses until hearing it. Mei furrowed his eyebrows intensely, finding his reaction unfunny as he glares at the man next to him.

“Miyuki Kazuya do you not have any shame of being a homewrecker?! Thank goodness I never switched up when you made your appearance at your first game and stole all of the fans’ hearts with your plays.” Sawamura yells. Mei nodded in agreement while Sanada is trying his hardest to keep a straight face, but looks like he’s about to burst out in laughter any second. However the man being yelled at doesn’t show an ounce of sincerity on his face. Instead, he appears more amused than before. Miyuki and his twisted personality always enjoys being the reason for someone's suffering, Kuramochi silently drinks more of his beer, observing where this conversation is heading.

“Hahaha, I’m truly flattered.” Miyuki laughs. “That you, Sawamura stayed loyal to Sanada and that Itsuki finds me attractive, that he’s nervous around me. He’s got great taste in men.”

“I’m sure if he discovered your true personality, he’ll realize your looks are your only saving grace.” Mei bites back.

Kuramochi couldn’t help but let out a small laugh, knowing all too well how true Mei’s statement was, reminding him back when he believed Miyuki was a good kid until his true colors showed. He felt a light kick on his leg and he knew that the only person that can be responsible for that is the man sitting in front of him. This bastard did not just. Kuramochi looks directly at Miyuki, who has his chin resting on the palm of his hand and his drink on the other hand, eyes focused on Mei. But it looks rather forced, refusing to meet Kuramochi’s stare.

However, Kuramochi isn’t one to let something like this just slide so easily with no consequences. As he reaches across the table for the crispy chicken tenders, he casually kicks Miyuki’s leg with enough force to make the smirk on his face to falter a bit. Thankfully, no one else seems to notice his facial expression changing. Miyuki looks over at Kuramochi, mouthing ‘that was a bit hard don’t you think?’ Kuramochi shrugs at his question, smiling as he doesn’t feel sorry for what he did.

“You know Mei, with the way you talk badly about Miyuki sometimes makes me forget the massive crush you had on him back before you started dating Itsuki.” Sanada said, catching Kuramochi off guard. Mei’s cheek starts turning a light shade of red, flustered at the memory.

“This was before Miyuki Kazuya attended Seido University, right? I remember Sanada telling me how you got frustrated when he took almost the entire day to respond to your texts and how you much you crr-”

Sawamura was cut off mid sentence with a handful of chicken tenders shoved into his mouth by Mei who then shifted his attention to a concerned Sanada about the amount of chicken forced into Sawamura’s mouth while Miyuki is laughing at the chaos. Kuramochi is still stuck on the fact that Mei had a crush on Miyuki, but if Miyuki knew about it does that mean there’s some sort of possibility he likes men. The topic of sexuality had never come up when they were younger, but Kuramochi thought that maybe Miyuki was aroace as he showed no ounce of interest in dating. Though, that never stopped him from teasing Kuramochi about his crushes.

“I don’t care that he rejected me,” Sanada looks like he’s about to interject, but Mei doesn’t give him a chance. “Because I got Itsuki and he treats me wonderfully. But I do care that Kazuya isn’t dating anyone because of his reasoning for rejecting me.”

“Reasoning?” Kuramochi hadn’t meant to say that out loud.

Miyuki halts midway from drinking his beer and looks at Kuramochi, but not with his usual confidence. He looks vulnerable and maybe even scared?? But makes no effort to inject in the conversation as he picks up his drink again.

“Ohoho lemme tell you,” Mei starts. “When I finally caught him on a good night that he wasn’t too busy and was able to call him, I confessed my feelings to him. At first he thought I was joking until he realized that I was serious about my feelings. He told me he couldn’t return because and I quote ‘there’s someone who I had my eye on for the longest time and I don’t have any interest in dating anyone, unless it’s that person. I want to give them my whole heart when I have the confidence to confess to them.’ And as you can see, we continued being friends and I still don’t know who the unfortunate person who had stolen Kazuya’s heart is, as he’s still single.”

There’s someone who I had my eye on for the longest time. The sentence wouldn’t stop repeating in his head. He already knew that there was little to no chance of Miyuki seeing more than just friends, but there was just the tiniest hope he was trying not to cling that Miyuki feels the same way. I should’ve known better, how can he like a guy like me.

For the rest of the night, Kuramochi pushes down his disappointment by drinking his emotions away and relentlessly teases Sawamura all night. Doing whatever he can to distract himself. He can feel Miyuki’s eyes on him the whole night as if he was trying to read his mind, but he tried his best not to look back, unsure of the kind of face he’ll make.

~ ~ ~

Midnight soon approaches just as everyone finishes the last of their drinks and food, deciding that it’s time to call it a night as a few have morning classes the next day. Mei exchanged numbers with Sawamura and Kuramochi, saying that they should all hangout again and can introduce them to his boyfriend. Even Sanada had given Kuramochi his number so they won’t be strangers to each other who just share the same friend.

“Kuramochi! I’m going to be sleeping over at Sanada’s. I hope that you’ll be okay walking to your dorm by yourself. Text me when you get there so I know you’re alive!” Sawamura says a bit too loud while clinging onto Sanada’s arm as Sanada has to lean slightly away to save his ears.

Before Kuramochi could tell Sawamura not to worry about him and enjoy his night with Sanada, an arm wraps across his shoulders. He looks up to see to whom the arm belongs to and it is no other than MIyuki Kazuya, whose eyes are on Sawamura and Sanada, allowing for Kuramochi to let his stare linger on him for a little longer.

Miyuki pulls Kuramochi closer to him, their cheeks inches away from each other and he can hear the steady breathing of his friend. “I’ll walk back with him so you no need for you to worry your pretty little head off.”

“Miyuki Kazuya don’t shamelessly compliment me like that when I know you aren’t sincere about it” Sawamura fumes and Miyuki laughs.

“Enjoy the rest of your night Sanada. And Mei, say hi to Itsuki for me.” Miyuki says disregarding Sawamura’s outburst.

Mei flips him off. “Absolutely not. Just slip on a couple of stairs for me”

“No thanks!” Miyuki chuckles into Kuramochi’s ear, tickling them a bit. He can feel the blush climbing on his neck and ears and he hopes that Miyuki hasn’t noticed.

They all said their goodbyes to one another and went their separate ways. Miyuki’s arm is still around Kuramochi as they turn around, but let's go as soon as they start walking back. The walk is silent, not knowing how to start the conversation with each other without making it too awkward. But it’s not like they were complete strangers, at least for Kuramochi, Miyuki played a huge part in his life and he’s forever grateful for meeting him. Kuramochi knew that when he left it would be the last he ever talks to him because Miyuki never bothered getting a phone. He knew, yet, it didn’t make the pain in his heart hurt any less.

At the time Miyuki had moved away because of his father's business, he felt as if he lost a part of himself. He gave him courage again the day he was standing by his house when his father had thrown him out. When Miyuki told him that he was moving back to his hometown, for a brief second, Kuramochi had considered confessing his feelings to him on the last day in town so if he got rejected then he wouldn’t have to deal with the pain of watching Miyuki slowly distancing himself from him. But acting like he doesn’t have a crush on his best friend was proven to be harder to do because the more time he would spend with him, the stronger his feelings grew. And now he’s right in front of him, heart aching to just pull him into a tight hug and never wanting him to be out of his sight again.

“Even after all these years I’m still taller than you. Did you just stop growing or something?” Miyuki teases, replacing the feeling of hugging his childhood friend to wanting to kick him.

“Fuck off.” Kuramochi shoved his hands in the pockets of his ripped jeans. “Besides, why the hell are you even here at Seido University? Shouldn’t you be in Kyoto?”

Miyuki scratches the back of his neck, fingers getting tangled in his hair. “Well I was attending a university in Kyoto for my freshman year, but then in the middle of the spring semester, I got offered a sports scholarship at Seido. I almost denied the offer as I was already forming plans and strategies using their strengths for plays but after visiting this school and seeing this team I knew it would be better for me. It’s my first semester here as we agreed that I’ll finish my first year at Kyoto to make transferring my credits over here easier.”

Kuramochi nods his head in acknowledgment. Miyuki must have been a really valuable player for their school to offer him a scholarship. Even from watching the game, he saw how he adds pressure to the opposing team with his spikes and serves. He’s truly amazing, he thinks as he glances over at him and he sees Miyuki is also looking at him. But instead of facing away from each other once they made eye contact, they held it, not wanting to look away from each other.

“Oi,” Kuramochi grabs a handful of Miyuki’s shirt and pulls him closer to him, nearly missing the pole that would’ve made contact with if he was a second late. “Be careful, we can’t have our star player getting injured on us during the season, especially by a pole at that.”

“Aw glad to see some things haven’t changed beside your height.” Miyuki grins.

“Asshole.” Kuramochi gently pushes him away, ignoring his heart rapidly beating fast.

It also doesn’t help that he could’ve sworn that he saw Miyuki’s cheeks were a little red, but wasn’t certain because of how dark it is outside and Miyuki turned his face away from him. But why would he care that much to not face him? It was a bit cold outside so perhaps the weather got to him, unless... ‘ I don’t have any interest in dating anyone, unless it’s that person’. The reminder had stopped any lingering hope he had left from spreading to his heart. I’m not going to get my hopes up or be delusional. Even though Kuramochi doesn’t have any clue who the person is, they must be someone dear to Miyuki if he revealed that much of his feelings to Mei when he tends to keep a majority of it to himself. He possibly met that person when they separated.

“So what’s this person like?” he asked.

“Huh?”

“The person you’re reversing your heart for. What type of person are they like?” Kuramochi rephrases his question.

He couldn’t help but let his curiosity get the better of them, wanting to know what kind of person made his childhood friend and crush fall in love. Kuramochi couldn’t even be upset or frustrated because he had many opportunities to confess, but he chicken out each time, telling himself his feelings aren't worth losing the person he cares deeply for. Seeing him again is enough, I shouldn’t be so greedy .

Heavy silence fell between the two friends once more as they near their destination. Kuramochi doesn’t expect an answer from Miyuki. It took him so long to crack him open the first time and with so many years that past, he’s back to where he started and has to climb back up again.

“Well,” Miyuki’s voice startles Kuramochi. “The person…I’ve known them for some time now…you can say that they opened my eyes to a lot of things in life. I guess…I saw myself in them for a brief second and didn’t want to leave them alone like how I was during a different situation. They always came to my rescue whenever I got myself into trouble, even if I started it or not, it didn’t matter to them, they just cared that I didn’t hurt or anything. Although they have such a caring, loving heart they are quite vulgar with their words and physical with me at times haha…but I do want to tell them eventually. Just…”

Miyuki rubs the back of his neck to hide his shaky hands, but it was pointless because Kuramochi knows all his habits and ways he would avoid showing his vulnerability. It's a rare sight to see Miyuki be so open about his feelings and it is a nice change that Kuramochi wants to see more of. This person really must be that special if they have you looking like a lovesick puppy. The ache in his chest is back again and he grabs his shirt acting as if it will make the pain any less. Maybe in a selfish way, he hoped Miyuki was lying about liking someone in order to avoid dating Mei. He wouldn’t put it past him as he did it a couple of times in middle school when girls would corner him and confess.

Truly, Kuramochi didn’t know how to respond back to him. He knows if he stays anything now, going to sound forced and Miyuki will know that something is wrong. Unlike Miyuki, he’s not the best at hiding his feelings, rather he wears his emotions on his sleeves as his mom likes to say.

“Miyuk-” just as he started, he immediately senses danger not too far from campus. Couldn’t have picked a worse time to cause trouble. He didn’t want to leave right now, he wanted to continue walking and talking to Miyuki. He wants to hear him tell stories about the years he was absent from, walking side by side, enjoying his presence even though he won’t admit that to him to his face.

He wants this moment to last a little longer.

“What?” Miyuki asked.

“Oh um I forgot! I’m working on this project with a classmate and I promised to swing by their place to double check on some things after the game.” Kuramochi lies, “I hope you aren’t afraid to be left alone to walk back to your dorm.”

He huffs. “How forgetful of you, but I guess I’ll see you around then?”

“Ya see you later.” Kuramochi says as he turns around the opposite direction.

Once he was a good distance away from Miyuki, he sprinted into the shadows and quickly changed into his Spiderman suit. Just as he was about to take off to the sky, he felt his phone vibrate. Kuramochi knew that it couldn’t be from Sawamura as he’s with Sanada and he prefers calling people rather than texting and that the Kominato are most likely asleep at this hour. Curiosity got the better of him as he reached in his pocket for his phone and saw the notification on his lockscreen.

xxx-xxx-xxx: better make it there safely or i’ll never hear the end of it from sawamura

Knowing who it is, he smiles as he saves the number on his phone to ‘asshole’, his finger hovering over adding a heart heart emoji but he decides against it. He and Miyuki are just friends, nothing more and nothing less.

“Come on Kuramochi, you gotta focus on the mission right now rather than him.” he clasps his cheeks together before pulling down his mask and swings into the night to the location.

~ ~ ~

Miyuki wasn’t one of those kids who was particularly a fan of superhero stories. He was forced to fend for himself at a young age that he didn’t have time to enjoy things that kids his age were into. Instead of waiting for his favorite cartoon to broadcast while being snuggled up in his blanket, he was standing in front of the stove, trying not to burn the food he was making and using a stool to give him the extra height. This was around the time when Miyuki’s parents were having a rough patch in their marriage to the point that his mom packed her things and went to live with her parents to give herself space from his dad. Miyuki didn’t know all the details of what was happening and whenever he would ask his dad he'd just give him a strain smile and change the subject.

“Your mom is just spending the week with her parents, but how was volleyball practice son? Did you learn any new serves today?”

He hated that his father was avoiding the topic, but he knew that he was doing this because he didn't want Miyuki to be involved or to have any ill feelings towards his mother. The days his mom wasn’t present, Miyuki was left on his own to cook and keep the house tidy as his father would often work late. Sometimes before his mother left, she would cook extra food so Miyuki didn’t need to cook so much for himself and had something to eat.

This cycle did eventually come to an end a year later with his parents being able to mend their relationship and never followed through with their divorce. In a weird way his parents grew closer together as if that past year had never occured. His mom apologized to Miyuki for leaving him all alone and that she’ll do better as mother from here on out. Although Miyuki accepted her apology, it didn’t make up for all the times he felt so alone walking into an empty house everyday, but he just acted as if it never fazed him.

Watching those superhero movies, seeing the people waiting and holding hope that the hero will be there to save them from the bad guy would make him cringe a little. Perhaps it’s because it would just remind him of the days that he would be waiting for his mom to return home after days, weeks, even months but that never happened. It’s pointless to rely on people when they can just turn on you one day with no hesitation or explaination. That was his mindset until a certain someone had barged into his life and changed his view about everything.

“Youichi…” Miyuki says to himself, letting his body collapse onto his bed. The whole Seido volleyball team have a dorm building specially built for them as they brought home many trophies and championships bringing a good reputation to the school with players even going pro. Their building had a gym and volleyball court on the first floor so the players had easy access to practice rather than walking to the public gym. To much of Miyuki’s relief, he was able to snag a room to himself when transferring and was fortunate enough to have Sanada be across the hall from him.

Miyuki took off his glasses to replace it with his sleeping mask but to have it sitting on top of his bangs. He took a look at his phone, swallowing his disappointment when he saw that Kuramochi hadn’t responded to his message. I mean he is working on a project so I guess he wouldn’t be on his phone but… He frowns at himself for being upset at his message being unopened for over an hour.

“It’s not like you're dating him Kazuya.” he lets out a short dry laugh.

He reaches over to turn off the lamp, checking his phone one last time before setting it down on his nightstand and plugging it in for it to charge. Miyuki pulls his sleeping mask from his head to cover his vision of his barely furnished room and wraps himself in his blanket.

It’s not like he likes guys like that.

~ ~ ~

The past few weeks have been eventful for Miyuki and for the most part in a good way. The volleyball team has been consistently winning their games with ease, his parents surprised him by driving up to Tokyo to watch one of his games and treated him to dinner afterwards. Although that was quite the surprise, he doesn’t think it’ll tops discovering that Kuramochi also attends Seido in the most cliche way possible.

The night they met, Miyuki had gotten Kuramochi’s number from Sanada since he knew asking Sawamura would’ve been a headache, but ever since he sent the first message, they’ve been messaging nonstop. They would occasionally facetime towards the end of the day and sometimes accidentally sleep on the call. Miyuki typically woke up before Kuramochi since he had morning practice before his morning class and would take a couple of minutes just staring at his sleeping friend. Drool spilling out of his mouth that’s opened with soft snores, his blanket wrapped comfortably around him. It was a rare chance he sees Kuramochi with a soft facial expression as he is always scowling at Miyuki, granted most of the time he is reason but he likes to think otherwise. He would take some pictures of him sleeping, convincing himself that it’s for blackmail whenever he saw the opportunity but he couldn’t fool his pounding heart with that reason.

Whenever Miyuki didn’t have morning practices and Kuramochi woke up at a decent time, they would agree to meet at the Seido Cafe to grab a quick breakfast and walk to each other’s class. If they couldn’t do breakfast, then Miyuki would invite Kuramochi to his dorm to order some takeout for dinner and watch a movie on Netflix and sometimes if Kuramochi was too tired to walk back to his dorm, he'd sleepover. Miyuki didn’t mind it at all, in fact he would secretly hope everytime that he would be too tired to go back so he can spend extra time with him. This morning turned out to be one of those and just as Kuramochi and Miyuki were leaving the dorm, Sanada was also leaving and noticed the pair coming out together. He didn’t make a comment about it, but just simply greeted the two and headed on his way to class.

He’s definitely not just going to let this go without saying anything. Miyuki thinks to himself as he sees his teammate sneak a second glance back at them.

All morning, Miyuki had thought maybe Sanada would perhaps pretend he didn’t see his boyfriend’s friend walk out of his room until they were in the locker room after finishing up morning practice.

“So, I noticed that Kuramochi slept over at your place. Again.” Sanada says as he pulls off his shirt over his head.

Miyuki let out a cocky smirk. “Yeah, what’s the big deal?”

“Oh nothing, you rarely invite people to your dorm and he’s been in there more times than I can count. Hell I’ve only been in there once or twice but I didn’t stay in there for long.” Before Miyuki could say anything, their middle blocker, Carlos, speaks up.

“Now that you mention that, our little technophobe has been constantly texting away during our breaks. Even caught him smiling a few times, like a genuine one and not his fake one he flashes to his fangirls.”

This statement had caught the attention of everyone within earshot of the conversation and some had even paused midway through changing, not wanting to miss Miyuki’s response to Carlos and Sanada observation. Miyuki knew that it would be foolish to brush it off as something that isn’t a big deal, but he hadn’t realized how much he changed after reconnecting with Kuramochi. It’s just like middle school all over again. He almost laughed out loud.

It was no secret that Miyuki is gay. The majority of his teammates and parents knew about his sexuality. He never felt the need to make a grand announcement about it, just if it ever came up he didn’t feel the need to lie about it and spoke honestly. Thankfully, he had received nothing but positive and supportive reactions when he revealed he had no attraction to women.

He smiles. “You all should be focused on the upcoming match we have rather than my personal life. Besides…” Kuramochi isn’t gay or anything so it’s not anything like that. Miyuki had to bite his tongue from voicing out the last part. Sanada had seen the shift in Miyuki’s expression and placed his hand on Carlos’s shoulder, indicating not to pry any further about the topic.

Once he finishes changing, Miyuki said his goodbyes to everyone and made his way out of the changing room. He checked his phone for any new messages and there was only a couple from the volleyball group chat. None from Kuramochi since two hours when he said he was heading to class. But the class he had only lasted for an hour, so he would’ve been done already and he typically responds quickly.

Maybe his phone died or something. He tried not to think too much about it as he shoves his phone into his pocket and starts walking to the library so he could focus on studying for an upcoming exam.

“Hey did you see? Spiderman saved the day once again! Some criminals hijacked a rich man’s car and their son was in the car too and they were demanding millions of dollars. The police couldn’t catch nor negotiate with them until BAM! The hero and legend himself, Spiderman swopes in front of them and stops the car with his bare hands. Bare hands! And the police were able to arrest the bad guys and return the son of the rich man with no injuries or anything.” a student walking past says loudly.

“No way!? He’s so fucking cool! I wish I could be friends with him or just see him in action at least once!” The other student talked excitedly.

Their conversation died down as the pair walked further and further away from Miyuki, reminding him of the incident that happened in Kyoto Bank a few weeks back. The unpleasant memory he pushed into the back of his mind of being blindfolded and taken as a hostage during the robbery. He was also saved by Spiderman and since then he couldn’t stop thinking about it. There was just something about the Spiderman that made him feel…safe? Like a familiar air to him that he couldn’t put his finger on. Miyuki has been meaning to do some research on the man just to give himself a peace of mind and dismiss this strange feeling he has about him, but he’s been so caught up with school and volleyball he hadn’t had the chance to.

Miyuki finds himself a secluded place by the window to settle down and instead of pulling out his textbooks, he grabs his laptop and starts doing research on Spiderman. A bunch of articles and news reports of all the crimes he had prevented had been the first few links to appear when he searched his name. Further scrolling he stumbled across conspiracy theories written about what kind of person Spiderman is behind the mask, guessing his life outside saving people, possibly living among society or in isolation somewhere far from everyone.

The first appearance of Spiderman dates back five years ago when there was a robbery of an antique shop and the criminal had stolen thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. Police were trying to keep up with the thief but just when it seemed hopeless, Spiderman appeared above out of nowhere and apprehended him. This made breaking news and the start of Spiderman's career.

“He can’t be too old since he’s pretty consistent and his actions haven't slowed down since his debut.” Miyuki mutters to himself. “Perhaps he’s in his early or late 20’s right about now.”

After reading all the articles he could find, Miyuki decides to go on YouTube to see if there’s any chance that Spiderman has done interviews. He doesn’t seem like the type to do interviews as he said himself that he doesn’t do this for fame and social status. It’s also the fact he disappears right away after the police have the situation under control and before the news crew and reporters flood the scene.

As expected, Miyuki wasn’t able to find any interviews, just clips and low quality recording of Spiderman rescuing citizens or stopping crimes. He was just about ready to give up his search until he came across a thirty second clip. He clicked on the video, focusing intently in the short video. It showed Spiderman squatting down to a little girl and patting the top of her head. For some reason he turned the other way to face her parents, still having his hand on the girl’s head, he let out a loud laugh and Miyuki froze. That laugh sounds too familiar to someone he knows.

The laugh… it sounds like..

Miyuki finches when he feels a hand placed on his shoulder and he turns around to see Kuramochi standing behind him with an espresso in his hand.

“Hey.” Kuramochi says, pulling a chair towards his table with the chair backwards and places the espresso beside Miyuki’s things. “Got this for you.”

“This is unexpectedly nice of you, did something good happen? Finally get yourself a girlfriend after years of being single?” Miyuki took his earphones out of his ear, flashing his signature smirk.

“Fuck off! This is the last time I’ll ever do anything nice for you again, asshole.”

He and Miyuki both knew that wasn’t true. Miyuki knew better than anyone that he was all bark and no action and he found it quite amusing to take advantage of that every now and again. As he took a sip of his drink his mind went back to the video he watched before Kuramochi showed up.

How the laugh sounded terribly like his friend.

Mochi has a distinct laugh that anyone has heard once, they’ll always be able to recognize it no matter how many years went by. Miyuki had basically grown up hearing that laugh countless times and slowly falling in love with it. It explains the familiar feeling he felt when he was with Spiderman at the bank because Kuramochi is the only person who made him feel safe and protected. But never in a million years would he expect or guessed his friend is the famous Spiderman.

“So what have you been so invested in that you didn’t answer my texts.” Kuramochi asks.

Oh nothing much, just spend the last hour or so doing research on Spiderman to find out that it’s actually you. Miyuki’s immediate thought went, but he couldn’t say it like that. Besides, he wants Mochi to tell him on his own, however, at the same time it pisses him off a bit that Kuramochi had kept this a secret from him despite being friends for so long. Sure, they just rekindled their friendship not too long ago, but it isn’t like they ended on bad terms or anything so why hasn't he mentioned it to him? Miyuki knows that dwelling on this or directly asking Kuramochi would get him any answers to his questions, so he decides that he might push some buttons just to see if maybe his theory is correct or not.

“Say, you remember the Kyoko Bank incident right?” Miyuki asks, carefully observing Kuramochi’s every moment. He noticed a little twitch in his finger that he would’ve missed if he wasn’t paying close attention to Kuramochi. Even when Kuramochi tries to hide his emotions, his body language always gives a small hint of how he’s truly feeling.

“Yeah I remember, Ryo woke me up in the morning about it.” Kuramochi responds.

I knew you wouldn’t outright say it. Miyuki scotches his chair closer, invading Mochi’s personal space, leaning into his ear to whisper.

“Don’t tell anyone this but I was at the bank that day. Better yet I was the anonymous hostage that Spiderman helped me escape from.” Miyuki moved himself away from his ear and spoke in a normal volume. “I kept replaying that day in my head and there’s something bugging me. I just really want to meet Spiderman. I can’t explain the feeling, but I think seeing him again will confirm something for me. Obviously Spiderman doesn’t just casually roam around the streets looking for danger to appear, so I thought what if I got myself in danger aga-”

He didn’t even get to finish his sentence as Kuramochi grabs a handful of his shirt, pulling him close to where he is now in Miyuki’s personal space.

“Are you fucking stupid?!” he whispers. “Why the hell would you put your life at risk just to meet Spiderman? You don’t even fucking know him for God’s sake Miyuki! I thought you were smarter than this but I swear if you do anything remotely dangerous or stupid I’ll kick your ass and never speak to you again.”

Neither of them spoke a word to each other until Kuramochi slowly let go of Miyuki’s shirt. “I didn’t mean to snap at you, it’s just… I don’t want you to go through that experience again. It can really traumatize no matter how tough you think you are.” He places his hand on top of Miyuki’s, taking the man slightly aback. “How am I supposed to protect you if you put yourself into life threatening situations? I don’t want to see you hurt, you mean too much to me.”

Miyuki couldn’t utter a word, he was completely speechless. He’s way too focused on the warm hand on top of his own to even make a snarky comment. Maybe he went a bit far with his investigation and pushed the wrong buttons, seeing as he clearly upsetted Kuramochi which was never his intention. Nervously, he moved his free hand towards Mochi’s cheek, but before he made contact Kuramochi had moved away and started to gather his things.

“Shit.” Kuramochi curses under his breath as he swings his backpack around his shoulders and looks over at Miyuki. “I’m sorry I gotta go. Promised Ryo I would do grocery shopping and cook this week.”

Miyuki wasn’t sure if he was actually telling the truth about going home or if that’s a cover up for him to go be Spiderman. He had a similar facial expression when they were walking back home for a brief second before he remembered the project he had to do and left in a hurry. Was he lying back then as well or actually did go over to his classmate’s dorm?

He laughs. “Alright, have fun being a housewife.”

~ ~ ~

Kuramochi’s mind hasn’t been able to focus since he left the library. Truth is, he didn't go to the grocery store and cook, but went to be Spiderman. As every second passes by, he thinks of Miyuki’s cold hand underneath his, wondering why the idiot didn’t wear more layers or sit closer to the heater. Kuramochi would have offered his hoodie to him after they finished…whatever they were doing until he got interrupted with Spiderman duties.

What’s eating him alive is where Miyuki’s other hand was going to make contact with. His face? No, that would be too intimate for them, especially considering that they aren’t touchy with each other. But the cheek is the only logical sense unless he was going to push Kuramochi away from him. Understandably so because he was really close to him, especially his face.

Close enough to kiss him if he dared.

He shook his head at the thought of this, reminding himself that Miyuki already likes someone else. I want to give them my whole heart when I have the confidence to confess to them. Kuramochi shoves his face into his pillow and screams, wanting to stop the words from echoing through his mind.

But what really has his head spiraling is discovering that Miyuki was the hostage from the bank robbery. Kuramochi never got the chance to make sure he was okay afterwards because he was too busy keeping an eye on the criminals, making sure they didn’t try to escape. But by the time he went to go look for him, the police said that he already gave them the information they needed and left. The chief of police said that Miyuki asked not for his name to be released to the public as he doesn’t want attention and to have a peaceful college life when Kuramochi tried asking for his name.

“Though you do wonders for the city, we as the police have to respect the victim’s wishes of wanting to remain anonymous. Even from you.”

“Kuramochi, I can sense your distress from the living room. It’s distracting.” Ryosuke says, popping a chip into his mouth.

“S-sorry, I’m just…thinking.” he says. Ryosuke must have realized this is more serious than he thought because he turns off the tv and sets his bowl of chips down on the table. He sits across from Kuramochi and stares at him before he says something.

“You typically don’t think this hard to the point where you’re stressed. What’s bothering you?”

With that he spends the next half hour starting from the very beginning of his middle school crush on Miyuki, seeing him after years of no contact, what Mei had said when he confessed his feelings, the conversation they had when walking back from the restaurant, finding out Miyuki was the captive at Kyoto Bank and intimate moment at the library.

After finishing up telling the story, Ryosuke didn’t say anything right away, processing the information his friend had told him.

“For someone who’s very observant of others, I’m shocked that you haven’t connected the dots yet.” Is all Ryosuke says before he goes back on the couch and snacks on his chips. This was not the response Kuramochi was expecting at all. He was expecting Ryosuke to give some words of advice even if it came off rude, but not this. What the hell is that supposed to mean?!?

“Wait wait wait.” Kuramochi struggles out of bed and walks in front of the tv. “Ryo, that does not give me peace of mind at all. In fact, you’re making it worse.”

He sighs a little. “Kuramochi, think about it. You know Miyuki the best, do you think that he’ll allow just anyone to hold his hand or invade his personal place? If you still don’t get it, he even responded to your affection with affection of his own.”

Oh.

Oh.

Oh shit.

Everything is slowly starting to make sense now. The subtle hints Miyuki would drop that he would dismiss it for teasing or to be taken in a platonic way. Kuramochi’s mind went back to the night they were walking back from the restaurant when he had asked him about his crush.

Just…”

“Fuck.” Kuramochi scrambles to his bed to grab his phone while Ryosuke lets out a chuckle.

He clicks on Miyuki’s contact and is one click away from calling him, but stops. What am I even gonna say? Hey I may be a couple of years late but I feel the same way about you. Kuramochi doesn’t know what to say, but he feels like he has to say something to him or he’ll confess the second he sees him. After thinking about it for some time, he decided that confessing to him over text isn’t something he wants to do. Kuramochi would rather do it in person and he doesn’t want Miyuki to try and avoid the conversation.

Kuramochi: oi

Kuramochi: when's your next free day? I need to talk to you about something

Miyuki: got a game tomorrow so maybe afterwards depending if we win or not, otherwise the day after

Miyuki: but concidendently enough I also have something to say to you

This caught Kuramochi’s attention. Kuramochi wasn’t sure if Miyuki had figured out what conversation he wants to have, but if that’s not the case then he has no idea what he wants to say.

Kuramochi: alright, shall i meet you at your dorm?

Miyuki: yea that works

Kuramochi locks his phone after reading the message and stares at the ceiling. He hopes that he’ll be able to have tomorrow rather than wait any later. I don’t want either of us to keep waiting any longer.

~ ~ ~

As for every home game the volleyball team has, Sawamura has provided his friends with free tickets that Sanada has given him, but it was a bit different this time around than before.

“Miyuki Kazuya told me to give this to you even though I told him that Sanada gave me enough for everyone, but he insisted that I give you the one from him.” Sawamura handed Kuramochi the ticket. Hesitantly, he took the ticket from Sawamura and put it on the back underneath his phone case.

Typically, Miyuki would let Sanada be the one to provide him and his friends with the tickets while he would just sit there and observe. So why start only giving him a free ticket now? Could the conversation they had last night be part of the reason? Kuramochi had to stop himself from overthinking this small action too much. Because soon he’s going to tell Miyuki he likes him.

“Ahh the perks of dating an athlete.” Ryo smiles.

“We aren’t dating!!” Sawamura says, but right after mutters the word ‘yet’ causing Ryosuke to grin even more.

“Speak of the devil.” Haruichi says looking past Sawamura and Kuramochi.

Kuramochi turns around to see a couple of the volleyball players walking down the hall, some wearing their jersey jackets while others are wearing casual clothes. The only people he recognized among the players were Sanada who was chatting with Miyuki. Kuramochi let his eyes stay on Miyuki taking note of his sharp jawline, his fluffy hair being a bit unkempt that Kuramochi just wanted to walk over towards him and fix it. Miyuki glances around and he spots Kuramochi among the students in the hallway. He stops walking, causing Sanada to almost collide with him and focus his direction to where Miyuki was looking at.

He smirks a little and whispers something to Miyuki that causes him to turn away and for Sanada to laugh as he makes his way towards Kuramochi and his friends.

“Hey guys, did you get the tickets?” Sanada says, throwing his arm around Sawamura who let out a loud shriek.

“WHO-” he turns around to see that Sanada is the owner of the arm and immediately lets out a big smile and jumps to give him a big hug, almost sending them falling. “SANADAAA!! I thought I wouldn’t be able to see you until after the game!”

“Surprise, I’m here now.” he gives him a soft smile, wrapping his arms around him, lightly rubbing his back.

Although Kuramochi is happy for Sanada and Sawamura, he couldn’t help feeling a hint of jealousy. Wishing he can be openly affectionate with his feelings as the two of them are instead of daydreaming about it. He looks over at Miyuki and if anyone else saw him, they wouldn’t see anything out of the ordinary. But Kuramochi can tell immediately. The hint of longing and maybe even sadness in his eyes. His glasses made it a bit hard to tell it with the glare, but he saw enough to know.

It hurts.

“Hurry up and confess to your crush so I can stop seeing that pathetic look on your face.” Kuramochi softly elbows him in the side.

Miyuki forces out a laugh. “It’s not as easy as you think, but I don’t expect you to get it since you’re used to rejection.”

Kuramochi decided to not acknowledge the jab Miyuki threw. He knows that he doesn’t mean it. It’s just his way of avoiding conversation he doesn’t want to have. It can be a pain in the ass sometimes, but he puts up with it.

“Besides I cherish the friendship too much to give it up for something more.” he quietly says. Kuramochi looks at him, trying to find the right words for that statement. Wanting to tell him that he doesn’t need to worry about losing their friendship and the feelings are mutual.

“Miyuk-”

“Shit, Miyuki we gotta go otherwise we’ll be late for the meeting.” Sanada says. He gives Sawamura a small kiss on the forehead, saying his goodbye and promising to text him. Miyuki looks back at Kuramochi and gives him a small wave before he starts walking away.

Tonight, if not the next day, you won’t have anything to worry about and have that sad look in your eyes.

~ ~ ~

Sometimes Kuramochi wonders how different life would’ve been if he wasn’t Spiderman. How he wouldn’t be sneaking around campus, have more time to get to know and befriend his classmates, not having to lie to the people he knew, and to be able to enjoy his college years a bit more. It doesn’t mean he’s spiteful of his situation and he’s glad he got this power rather than someone who’d just use it for mischief or to cause trouble.

It’s close to midnight when Kuramochi is on his way back to the dorms from taking care of some bulgars and rescue situation that came up during the middle of the volleyball game. Of course his friends understood that duty calls and wished him luck. Ryosuke whispered he’ll let Miyuki know he had to leave early because something came up. He thanked him and as Kuramochi was making his way down his eyes met with Miyuki’s. He offered him a small smile and a wave before he continued his way out of the stadium.

Thanks to Sawamura spamming his snap story, he found out Seido had won their game and are currently out at a restaurant to celebrate their win. Kuramochi had hoped that Sawamura would get Miyuki in one of his stories he posted, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Then again, he isn’t one who’ll let people take videos or pictures of him without his consent. Perhaps he’s home or went to eat with his family instead. He decided that once he gets home, he’ll text Miyuki a congrats on the win and treat him to some food to make up for not being able to watch the entire game.

Ryosuke had texted him that he won’t be at the dorms tonight as he is going to spend the night at his parents house. He did that on occasions every month because he likes to check up on them once in a while.

Finally, after swinging from the last building to make it to his dorm window, he couldn’t wait to take off the suit, change into his pajamas, and play the new game he recently downloaded. He takes off the mask as he opens the window and is met with an unexpected surprise.

Miyuki fucking Kazuya was sitting on his desk, with takeout on the table, staring right at Kuramochi, with an unreadable expression. Kuramochi is internally panicking right now, not sure how he can play it off that it isn’t what it seems and cursing at himself not walking home like he typically does, but he was in a rush, hoping he’ll make it back to the game. He’s half tempted to just jump out of the window and to crash at Sawamura’s room to get his head together, but Sanada is most likely there and he doesn’t want to intrude on them despite knowing that he would be understanding.

“Are you going to come in or not?” Miyuki sounds unbothered discovering Kuramochi is Spiderman and he doesn't know how to take it. Did he already know?

“W-wait..” he starts.

Miyuki doesn’t let it finish his sentence. “Clean yourself up first, I can smell the sweat all the way from here.”

Kuramochi decides not to argue any further knowing that Miyuki won’t budge no matter how hard he presses. He steps into the shower, trying to think how he’s going to explain this to his friend. He’s not worried that Miyuki is going to go tell people about him being Spiderman, but Miyuki thinking that he didn’t trust him to tell him the truth. Kuramochi planned on telling him eventually, but he just couldn’t figure out a good time to.

Besides, this wasn’t the type of conversation he wanted to have with Miyuki tonight.

He enters the bedroom wearing sweatpants and a plain t-shirt, his hair is still a little damp from the shower. Miyuki is still sitting in the same spot, scrolling through his phone and eating some of the food he brought with him.

“That was a quick shower.” Miyuki says, smirking.

“Miyuk-”

“Ah ah, you gotta eat unless you want your food to get cold.” he shoves a sushi in his mouth. “Got your favorite too despite the fact you should be treating me today.”

“Listen Miyuki just le-”

“I said eat first Moc-”

“Kazuya.” Kuramochi raised his voice a little as his patience got the better of him. Miyuki wasn’t letting him utter a single sentence out and he felt like his chest was going to explode if he didn’t say anything now. He hadn’t even realized that he used Miyuki’s first name, until it slipped right out and Miyuki looked taken aback by it.

“Why..why didn’t you tell me you like me?” Miyuki’s eyes widened. “That I was the one you wanted to give your whole heart to. Why did you keep it to yourself all this time..”

The room was filled with silence, Miyuki was looking anywhere but Kuramochi, the smirk on his face disappeared. Kuramochi wants him to say something, anything, to break the silence between them. Was I possibly wrong? No, because he would’ve made a snarky ass comment otherwise.

“If we’re asking questions now let me ask you this; why didn’t you tell me you were Spiderman?” Miyuki fires back.

“Are you really going to change the subject?! Cause I’m not gonna let you do this time, Miyuki Kazuya. Were you ever going to tell me?! I mean fuck I-” Kuramochi takes a deep breath as he tries to calm himself down.

Does he really have any right for being mad at Miyuki for not saying anything about his feelings when he is doing the exact same thing? Too afraid to confess because he doesn’t want to lose his childhood friend over selfish feelings and convincing himself that he would never have a chance. He can’t blame him, but wishes they both had the confidence to say something so they wouldn’t be in this situation right now.

He lets out a dry laugh, pulling the towel over his head to cover his face as he sits down on the edge of his bed. “Who am I to get mad at you for not confessing sooner? Especially since I didn’t have the courage to either.”

Kuramochi felt something warm interlace with his fingers. He looks up to see Miyuki kneeling down on one knee, his face and ears slightly red. He reaches for the towel to remove it from covering Kuramochi’s face so he’s able to see him better.

“What are you doing?” he asks Miyuki, feeling his face getting hot.

“Something I wanted to do at the library.” he could feel Miyuki’s other hand on the back of his head, slowly pulling his face closer to his. “No, what I wanted to do ever since I knew I liked you.”

Before Kuramochi had time to process what was going on, he felt his lips being pressed on Miyuki’s. It was nothing that he could have imagined. The way he kisses him softly yet hungrily, his hand running through his hair, massaging his scalp. Kuramochi welcomes his touches as he lets his hands roam around Miyuki’s body. The next thing he knew, Miyuki was on the bed with him, on top of him as the kiss had gotten more intense.

Miyuki’s one hand is underneath Kuramochi’s shirt, roaming around his abdominal as Kuramochi is holding onto the other’s waist, making small circular moments with his thumb. He gives him one last small kiss before pulling away trying to catch his breath. Kuramochi uses this as the opportunity to flip over Miyuki, so now he’s on top and lays on him, resting his head on his chest. Neither says anything as Miyuki mindlessly plays with Kuramochi’s hair with the occasional head kisses. They laid there in silence for a bit, not sure what to say after what happened in the last forty minutes. It almost felt as if this was a fever dream and Kuramochi had pinched himself to remind himself that this was really happening.

“I wanted to tell you, you know.” Kuramochi starts.

“I thought we already established that we’re both idiots for not saying anything sooner. There’s no need to feel guilty about it anymore.” Miyuki softly rubs his back.

“No, not about that. About not telling you I’m Spiderman sooner.” Kuramochi says. “Trust me when I say that I wanted to tell you, I was just trying to figure out how to tell you. Plus it completely threw me off seeing you dig up clips of me and telling me that you were the hostage I saved at the bank. I just wanted to find the right words to make it sound like I didn’t trust you knowing, but you beat me to it.”

Miyuki lets out a laugh. “Yeah, sacrifice studying because of you. But a  little hint for the future; don’t laugh, it was a dead giveaway with how unique your laugh is from an average person.”

Kuramochi groans into Miyuki’s chest as the other laughs at him. He knew exactly what clip he’s talking about and after that interview, Ryosuke had given him hell for doing it and did everything in his power to erase it off the internet. After that, he avoided interviews and reporters altogether and strictly talked to police officers if needed and kept it straight to the point. Looks like I gotta tell Ryo the clip is still lingering around. He’s definitely not gonna be happy about that.

“By the way,” Kuramochi starts. “How did you get access into my dorm? I’m pretty sure I didn’t give you a spare key or anything.”

“Ahh you’re lovely roommate gave it to me.” Miyuki says. “Though he was hesitant at first and I figured since the two of you were close that he knew your secret so I told him I knew. It worked too cause he gave it to me and said and I quote ‘figure shit out with my idiot friend.’”

Damn Ryosuke! He couldn’t give me a heads up or anything. But in the end, Kuramochi guessed good things did come out of this so he can’t be too upset with Ryo. He haven’t realize he was exhausted until he felt his eyes get heavy and drifted to sleep.

~ few months later ~

“I’m ready to be official with Sanada.” Sawamura announced.

Mei almost choked on his drink, causing a few heads to turn in their direction as Itsuki handed him a cup of water to drink while patting his back. Sawamura and Kuramochi originally came here by themselves to work on homework and get some new pastries the cafe had recently released. Not too long after Mei waltz in and immediately spotted the pair and joined them at the table. He told them that he came here for Itsuki because he works here as a barista and after his shift was over they were going to go on a date.

Even though Itsuki’s shift had ended an hour ago, the couple found themselves still at the cafe, chatting with Kuramochi and Sawamura. They got to know more of Itsuki and how the two had gotten together. Kuramochi assumes that the talk about relationships lead to Sawamura bringing this up.

“Oh I was under the impression that you two were already together judging by how close you guys are in the hallways and always wearing his clothes.” Itsuki says.

“That’s what I thought too!” Mei looks over at Sawamura. “What made you finally want to officially date Sanada?”

“Well before liking Sanada I dated this one guy back in high school who was pretty abusive to me. He would say awful things to me, calling me a whore, saying that no one will ever find me attractive, and would only date me for my body. At first, I tried to not let it bother me, thinking he only said those things because he was angry at me or in a bad mood, but it began to happen more frequently and be harsher with his words. At one point he started to be physically abusive towards me and that’s when I was at my lowest. During that point of my life, Sanada was really there for me, even more when I called him crying after a bad argument with my ex. He felt like more of a boyfriend than my ex ever treated me, but he was very supportive and protective. He would do everything he can to limit the time I spent alone with him despite him already having a lot on his plate with school and everything. I..I love him very much and I’m tired of my past preventing me from being able to love him to the fullest.”

No one said a word right away as the three men didn’t know how to respond. Kuramochi is proud of his friend for being able to heal and move on from his ex and to start a new chapter of his life with the man he loves. That made his mind wander off to a certain cocky brunette he knows all too well.

After the night that Kuramochi sort of confessed, they haven’t really talked any further about it. Even so, he still continued to spend a lot of his free time at Miyuki’s dorm, bringing or cooking food or snacks for them to enjoy while watching a chessy reality show or a movie. Still spending a couple nights there and getting breakfast together before his volleyball practice if the two can find the will to get themselves up out of bed.

However, things are much different than before.

They were more touchy with each other. Sometimes when Kuramochi is prepping the food, Miyuki will come behind him and hug his waist, giving him a couple of neck kisses too. Whenever sitting on the couch, there’s little to no distance between them as they share a blanket, cuddling close to one another or holding hands. If not that, they would be making out instead of paying attention to the movie. And then one thing leads to another and they find themselves in Miyuki’s bed with their clothes sprawled all over the room to be left untouched until the morning.

Kuramochi and Miyuki know they share romantic feelings with each other but it never crossed their minds to ask the other person out. But he did see that on Miyuki’s phone his lockscreen is a picture of Kuramochi wearing one of his hoodies and sweats but his back is facing the camera and buying snacks at the convenient store. He also discovered that his contact name on Miyuki’s phone is “ shortie<3” while Kuramochi has Miyuki as “ asshole” with a couple of heart emojis. Kuramochi had also changed his lockscreen as well to a picture of Miyuki with his hair tied into two small pigtails.

“I’m happy for you, Sawamura, especially seeing how you were after the breakup.” Kuramochi says. “I’m glad you healed up well.”

“Mhmm exactly and if we ever see your ex anywhere, it’s on sight.” Mei held up a fist as Itsuki slowly put it down, trying to get him to calm down a bit . “So when are you going to tell Sanada?”

Sawamura makes a weird face as he thinks. “Tomorrow. He’s visiting his family today and I want him to enjoy his day with them.”

Mei gives him a thumbs up and a pat on the back, wishing him good luck alongside Ituski. Kuramochi also wishes Sawamura good luck tomorrow, not doubting that it won’t go well. Maybe I’ll do it tonight.

~ ~ ~

Sunset had started to cover the sky as Kuramochi and Miyuki walked out of the gym, holding each other’s hand. Miyuki had volleyball practice so instead of sitting at his dorm trying to be productive, Kuramochi decided to go watch his practice. He asked if Sawamura wanted to come with, but he declined as he had music lessons later that day. Mei and Itsuki would’ve joined but they had made reservations at a restaurant as it was their ten month anniversary a couple of days ago, but both were overloaded with tests and homework to do something that exact day.

Speaking of anniversaries, it's technically their two months today since that night. Last month, neither of them really mentioned it nor did anything special. It was clear that Miyuki took note of it because he took off of practice that day to spend with Kuramochi and even got the same takeout he brought over that day. Kuramochi also knew and bought Miyuki a hoodie and beanie that he saw him eyeing when they went to the mall on the weekend.

“Do you wanna eat out or have me make something tonight?” Miyuki asks.

“Wow, I never thought I'd see the day where you offer to cook instead of seducing me to cook for you.” Kuramochi talks in a very dramatic way that causes Miyuki to playfully roll his eyes at him.

“Seducing? I don’t know what you’re talking about. I just ask you politely a couple of times and you give in.” he laughs.

Kuramochi frowns at the man. “Uh huh so you asking me to cook while straddling on top of me shirtless with your half hard dick and whispering in my ear isn’t seducing? Bullshit Kazuya and you know it.”.

“Not my fault you fell for it.” he chuckles.

“Fuck you.” Kuramochi says.

“Later, I’m hungry right now.” Miyuki dramatically leans his whole body weight on Kuramochi, causing the both of them to almost fall over.

Kuramochi curses at Miyuki to quit leaning on him and the other just finds all of this amusing in his sick, twisted head. Of course I fell hard for his twisted personality out of everyone in the entire world, he thinks to himself. But even though Miyuki can be a pain in the ass sometimes, he’s his pain in the ass and wouldn’t want it any other way.

He stops walking and Miyuki immediately shoots him a questionable look, hands still linked together. Just as he was about to open his mouth, Kuramochi decided it was now or never.

“Miyuki, when I first realized that my feelings for you were more than friendship, I prepared myself for my feelings to be rejected cause I thought to myself; ‘Why would he like me? We’re just friends and you’ve never shown interest in dating.’ But of course that didn’t stop my heart from beating fast when you were close to me, when you laugh to the point you were almost crying, your smile, just about whatever you fucking did made my hearts do flips. So hearing you also felt the same and also scared to say anything just had me mixed with feelings. Happy because it wasn’t one-sided, but mad at myself and you for not feeling brave enough to say something sooner so we could’ve made more memories together as…boyfriends. I know it’s kinda late to be asking this, but Miyuki Kazuya, will you be my boyfriend?”

The sound of crickets and the bushes rustling filled the air for a couple of seconds before Miyuki pulled Kuramochi into a tight embrace. Kuramochi was shocked at the response, but hugs him back. They stayed like this for a while, until Miyuki was the first to pull away, holding both of his hands.

“You idiot..” he gives a small smile. “I’ve only wanted you.”

“Don’t be an ass right now, I was being romantic with you.” Kuramochi presses his forehead against his.

“Yeah I know.”

Miyuki’s eyes flicker down to his lips and he starts to lean closer and so does Kuramochi until he feels that all too familiar sense. Now out of all times, he complains to himself as he pulls away before he’s able to meet Miyuki halfway to the kiss.

“Sorry, duty calls.” Kuramochi says.

“Mmm yeah, shit timing if you ask me.” Miyuki rubs the back of his neck.

“I’ll say,” he lets out a small sigh. “I’ll see you at your dorm, in thirty minutes? An hour max.”

“Oh? I’m holding you to that. Now go fight off some criminals.” Miyuki shoos his boyfriend off. Just before Kuramochi takes off, he plants a quick kiss on his cheek, catching Miyuki off guard.

“Bye.” he leaves before hearing Miyuki’s response, making him shake his head a bit, but what is to be expected.

This is only the beginning of his life being the boyfriend of Spiderman.

Notes:

I did consider making this into one big chapter but I thought that this was too good of a cliffhanger to leave you guys until the next chapter. plus I think it's just easier that way than fitting everything into one chapter. but luckily you won't have to wait too too long as I had typed both chapters out already, I just need to finish proofreading the last one which I hope to have done next week before I start school T-T if not then it will definitely be as soon as im able to. pls do leave comments as I would love to read them and hear your thoughts and opinions.
