In my opinion Will is the main character and deserves a complete story. This is my attempt at it, and I hope you enjoy it.

Summary
By now, Mike could recognise him anywhere, in thousands of people. The way his steps were always careful, despite the newfound look of confidence. The way his breath hitched for just a fraction of a second every time he saw something important, even now. The way he always twisted the hems of his shirt in his hand when he was nervous.
Mike had thought he knew Will better than anyone else. He was his best friend since they first met on the swings way back when they were little kids, way before Will went missing that fateful 6th of November in 1983.
And yet…apparently he hadn’t known his best friend as well as he thought he did.

I never wanted to publish my fanfiction style writing but the final episode of Stranger Things season 5 left me not other choice but to rewrite it. This will stay rather close to the episode, especially in the beginning, and you may notice me copying some dialogue from the show (this is on purpose). This whole thing starts with Will and Mike’s conversation on the radio tower in the upside down and the further we get into the plot of the final episode, the more this will differ from canon. I’m open to any and all suggestions regarding how this should end. Enjoy! -
