Vecna waved his hand, and Will dropped to the ground. Mike, still immobilised, watched Will panting on all fours. He desperately wanted to get up, run over to him, figure out what the hell Vecna had done to him, but his body remained traitorous.
He tried to call out, to get Will’s attention, but the sound seemed to catch in his chest and suffocate. He cleared his throat and tried again. Nothing. Discomfort sank in as he tried to regain his voice to no avail, mouth opening and closing soundlessly, like a goldfish.
An eerie, rhythmic ticking had crept into Mike’s periphery, raising goosebumps on his skin and setting him on edge.
A grandfather clock chimed nearby. A death sentence.

Hermitopia was a big city, full of whimsy, wonders, opportunities, tales, stories but just as much danger and crime. It was for that reason Scar had stepped in as Hotguy, making every sacrifice possible just so that every innocent soul could sleep in peace each night. He was willing to sacrifice his life, he had sacrificed the love of his life and there was just so much more he was willing to do just because it gave him a purpose. It made him important and loved. So it was worth it… to some extent. Or at least that’s what he chose to believe.
Hotguy’s eyes were sharp, flickering from one person’s face to another for any signs of any illegal activity, or specifically a certain somebody who was prone to causing chaos and making his job harder than it had to be, and ears picking up the slightest bit of noise, or specifically the unwavering, confident voice of a certain somebody who loved dramatic entrances and long, brooding monologues.
Hotguy is a hero, his biggest nemesis is Cuteguy (or is it?). Grian works at a cat café, Scar at a flower shop. They both have deeper secrets they’ve been hiding, and a past relationship they’re trying to move on from.
