All the times I got on that ice to play some hockey and some… fuckwit idiot like Kent, or whoever was calling me slurs— whether they were gay ones or racist ones… I couldn’t just hurl them back and call it a day like you did.”
He swallows hard. He thinks he might be sick a little bit in his mouth.
“You know how fucking lucky you are? To have gotten away with it? They love you, Barrett. This team loves you! You’re fucking celebrated because you overcame this big, terrible thing but for me it’s—”
He thinks about his mom in that very split second. His beautiful, wonderful mom who’d coached him his entire life on how to be polite, how to be well behaved. How to answer to teachers the right way, to coaches, to cops to the press to the general public to his fucking teammates—
He looks away. The fight suddenly drains right out of him and he goes back to his bag.

As Carina thought about her past, her childhood, the events of her life that had shaped her in more ways than she had ever realised, a thought arises, one she cannot seem to ignore. Was her mother truly as selfless as they all said? In Lucia's selflessness, she must have been forgotten. Lucia Deluca wanted to be free of the storm he left behind and in doing so, left an innocent child to pick up the pieces and put a puzzle back together, a puzzle with pieces lost, and never to be found.
Carina thinks of her childhood, and all the anger she felt over her father, being forced to grow up when she was only a child. Looking at Liam, her own child, she wonders how her mother could have possibly left her behind knowing the kind of man Vincenzo Deluca was.
It's not really going to be that much about Carina and Maya, but mostly Carina and like a character analysis of sorts because Grey's and Station gave us so much of her life without once exploring any of it and I want to create my own intepretation of it.

Summary
Exiled to the VeeTek R&D division and hidden away from the public after his disastrous breakdown, Vox finds a device that lets him see Alastor's thoughts. When he realizes that the radio demon really is in love with him, he decides to try and get Alastor to act on his feelings one last time- especially because Alastor might destroy much more than himself if he can't confront the truth.
Seeing Alastor's memories play out in front of him forces Vox to think about his own, but can he learn from his past mistakes? Or will another attempt at winning Alastor over cost Vox what little he has left?
