How he could have possibly thought that just because he handed Grogu off to the sketchy Space Wizard that Grogu would be safe…he couldn't tell you. Because honestly, the moment he got that holo-call from Peli Motto screaming about how some bounty hunter stole the kid for an Imperial High Admiral, and then how she had killed the hunter despite the kid being nowhere to be found…well, he wasn't even remotely shocked.
Definitely scared, extremely pissed off, and slightly homicidal. That he knew.

What Din Djarin, famed bounty hunter, slight himbo, sudden King of Mandalore, and single (but good) father couldn't have known, was that his kid was safe and sound. In fact, the kid was happier than he had been in a while because he had found another space father…who was actually a space mother in disguise.
Either way, the kid now had two parents and knew that they belonged together. And he was going to make sure it happened. -
