Life for Izumi Midoriya had never been great, not since she was diagnosed as quirkless.

Broken and unable to take any more, she decides to end it all. But she was saved, not by a hero, but by a simple man who offered her help.
Now, despite still being broken, with people supporting her and the number one hero training her to help make amends for his actions, she is ready to achieve her dream of becoming a hero.
Even though the road ahead may be rocky, she will not be walking it alone. Early into her training, she finds a robot wolf, a relic from a madman's crusade a decade ago, capable of emulating quirks.
With the power of her newfound mechanical friend, coupled with that of One for All, Izumi sets forth on her journey to become a great hero. All the while, forces watch her from the shadows.

A rewrite AND canon divergence for Paper Mario: Color Splash that leans into an old fan theory from before Color Splash released: that Roy Koopa was going to be the final boss of the game. In addition to other changes for the fun of it (changed chapter plots, changed jokes, and actual unique characters), the obvious change is having a Roy final battle, with changes to lead up to that climax.
Mario goes on a big adventure alongside his new companion, Huey the Paint Bucket, in the country of Prismia to collect the Paint Stars that Bowser stole and gave to his Koopalings, and rescue Princess Peach, who has her own goal of escaping Bowser herself. Meanwhile, the small but determined Toad got separated from the Princess, and is on his own mission to find Mario.

They've been coming in increasing frequency since the two last saw each other. The letters speak of a Red who misses Buggy, who wants him around. They make Buggy feel something--he loathes every single one.
He most certainly does not have them all memorized.

Shanks misses Blue. His crew have been trying to get him to shut up about him for years. It got worse after Marineford, until it became a running joke that every mention of Blue's name would earn a berry in the Buggy Jar.So, when Buggy shows up out of the blue, he's ecstatic. He's so happy he can't even question why his ex-best friend would show up after years without contact. When Buggy mentions the letters, though, Shanks is confused. Years of alcohol abuse have left him with memory loss, and he can't quite remember everything he's done.
Without answers, Shanks plays along. He'll do anything to keep his Blue around.
