Editing the summary because it didn't exactly explain what this is about. I wanted a story that considers if Christine's melancholia and fainting may be medical and takes seriously her belief in the supernatural as situated in real belief systems. Three months after the events of the opera, she and Raoul are caught in a criminal ransom scheme in Maderia, falling at the intersection of the collapse of the whaling industry and the "Great Game" of imperialism. Their rescue strands them in the wilderness, along with a family of strangers. The story is nonlinear and contains a lot of backstories, especially for Erik and Daroga. The story also retraces the events at the opera, transposing the angel of music story with a more ritual magik based view of angels. What if the angel of music was also the a real, ceremonial invocation?

I mostly wrote this because I had to weave Korora into the ATLA universe and the idea would not leave me alone. I’m still finding the shape of the story, so canon may be followed, bent, or quietly set on fire.

A Stitch in Time is a slow burn Holmes x OC romance threaded through with family drama, casefic mystery, and a creeping, almost fairy tale sense that something older is waking in the shadows of London. It follows a consulting detective who does not believe in magic, a woman who refuses to be only a victim or a muse, and the Holmes family as they learn that protecting one small, stubborn heart may be the most complicated case they will ever take. (This does not follow the Enola Holmes or Sherlock Holmes stories but does reference them. In a very loose way is similar to ‘Cheating Men Must Die’/Pataphysics world hopping.)

Jason knew how things were supposed to happen.
He'd planned on heading back to Gotham to stir up a storm — tear the city down and build it up again. No one would ever again forget who he was least of all Bruce. Jason was going to carve his name all over the city.
But this was how things did happen.
Talia refused to let him burn out. Not taking no for an answer, she sent him to college and told him to watch over his little brother. She made him promise that he would live, not just fight.
So he found himself taking six classes at Gotham University, pretending like he was just another college freshman. And maybe he could’ve kept on acting, but Gothic Poetry and Horror had other plans.
(Or, Jason goes to college and ends up in a semester-long group lit project featuring literal and figurative ghosts, people willing to risk it all for the A, and Gotham City's cursed weirdness. Somehow, this ends up being more stressful than his original plan for revenge.)
