“Unlikely,” Spock responded. “Your mother will be assigned to a new ship soon, and won’t be invited again to regular diplomatic events.”
“No, we’ll meet again even if it takes decades,” he insisted. “I’ll make it so.”
And Jim was so sure of himself, confidence in this future rolling off of him in waves, that Spock couldn't help but believe it, too.

Under stress and miscommunication, 1146 and AE3803 break up. Each thinking it's for the best of the other.
As distance settles between them, neither are taking it well. Especially for 1146 as he heads in a downward spiral at the cost of chaos. AE3803 tries to set things right while establishing boundaries.
And in the quiet spaces left behind from them, something begins to change.
Not all damage can be undone. But some things have a chance at being chosen again.

Fury didn't understand how it happened. How only this girl survived. She didn't seem dangerous. But the holes and deep cuts in the Hydra soldiers and scientists told a different story.
The girl didn't struggle when they cuffed her bloodied form. The only thing she said was a silent 'Bury them'. She didn't talk about the soldiers but two boys laying there, bullet holes in their heads.
They asked her name. She didn't answer. Her uniform read 'Angel'. It was a codename, but so they called her that. They didn't know the origin. They didn't know her story. Just that she didn't talk. Didn't protest, even when they locked her away under top security, chained against a wall, barely any light.
Kept her away from the world.
Until they needed someone able to create a carnage like at that base.

Scaramouche laid draped over what seemed to be a bloodied operation table. His face was turned to the side, his striking purple eyes meeting Columbina’s with no enthusiasm.
Blood was everywhere, smeared across the white surface of the table his arms were thrown over. He was on his stomach, but unmoving. Columbina greatly suspected that he wasn’t able to move at all.
