Except, this isn't a normal human. Senita, hailing from planet Brindley, lost in space finds herself on Erid among rock-like creatures and one human man.
Ryland and Senita, both loners in their own way, find friendship, adventure and something deeper as they journey back to Earth, only to discover Ryland wasn't placed on the Hail Mary by chance ... and that Senita may know far more about Earth's fate and her connection to it than she is letting on....

The window of the drop ship is a nice touch. Expensive one too, which makes him wonder if it’s part of the game he’ll be playing. It’s enough to make him focus, map potential routes, and jolt some life into his old bones. He takes note of the planet’s three continents; even manages to locate the three main cities the planet boasts of. Of course there must be other settlements, but it’s a new world and his eyes can only focus on so much at once. Ordinarily he’d just accept sit back and accept his fate, but this new master has been kind. He can make it fun for the newly crowned King Jayce of Lamia.
Viktor's had a long, illustrious 'career' as a personal pet, and has seen more of the settled galaxy than most other people. When his previous master dies leaving no heir, it's understandable that it's time for his long overdue decommission. What isn't understandable, is why the new King of a backwater planet would take such a personal interest in seeing it done.

Felix’s brows lift, a minute shift that makes his face seem more animated. “Then perhaps you’d like to explain why I’m standing here,” he gestures to the room, then to Chan, “taking part in this oh-so-stimulating conversation?”

Felix is unimpressed by this answer.
