Even if the Herald were a barely modded dynamic-class freighter, truthfully it was modded just enough to work and little else. The Herald was meant to be as nondescript as possible—old, sure but not so old that she'd be outdated, unable to detect oddities in the patterning.
The star patterns weren’t wholly different from the many others Anakin had seen, but it was enough to have him staring for a second. Frowning as he tried to make sense of it, he wondered why the Herald wasn’t picking up on it like she should have.

Grace's favorite book is Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, and he finds himself returning to a certain quote. “Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.” In context, it makes a lot more sense, but it boils down to this: the universe is so massive that the chance of even bumping into a piece of debris out there, let alone another spaceship, is almost entirely impossible.
“So,” he thinks aloud, “how in the heck is there another craft out there?”
aka Grace and Rocky pick up Simon on their way back from planet Adrian, and they try to live, because what else can they do?

It's 0300, according to the monitor. The coffee is cold, obviously, and the coffeemaker takes its usual sweet time booting up again. It lets out a tortured gurgle as liquid spills into the battered plastic mug, echoing through the silence.
Well, almost silence. Teylan can hear low metallic creaking from the next room, almost drowned out by the coffee machine and the rumble of TAP's heating system. No screaming, no thrashing, no curses or threats. He checks vital signs just to be sure, and everything falls within acceptable parameters.

The war was certainly not over yet, and this was still a reason for both sides, both Decepticons and Autobots, to not waste any opportunity to attack each other or get one step ahead of the other. On the other hand, Shockwave, in a desperate and scientific attempt to gain an advantage, developed a type of virus that he had learned from Earth species. How bad could it turn when it was only a harmless virus? After all, the virus would only help them to weaken the Autobots and would not be anything serious, right?
However, it was not common to see Optimus Prime behind himself in the heat of battle, his systems overheating only by… looking at his mortal enemy? He was having a heat cycle in the worst moment!
